I do believe the true offenders of the law should be punished more harshly.
Though I do no support drug-use, or the act of selling it, I do think it's a bit ridiculous they get the life sentence while the rapist gets a few years.
Personally, I like have my drug dealers in jail for life, but I don't like having my rapists wandering the streets, picking their next target (or trying not to, and end up failing).
If the minor criminals are going to jail for life, then so should the major criminals.
