[Cassandra enters from the HQ entrance]

As Cassandra entered, her expression wasn't too happy. She had been deprived of her own security at the expense of others. She could just easily summon them here; but she'd rather not waste the effort and cause a fuss. Thanks to her animated throne, walking wasn't a problem - it did the job for her, and since she controlled it with her own thoughts, she didn't even have to speak, sparing the few guards that she passed of any actual eye contact. She simply licked some of the dried blood of her bonesaw as her animated throne took her to the main temple's entrance.

As she reached the door, she pushed it open perhaps just a little harder than was absolutely necessary, her throne marching in. She looked around, and then looked towards Eishun. She spoke with a tone that hinted more at annoyance rather than actual rage or genuine anger. "I can't help but receive mixed messages from you, Sir." There was no hint of respect in the use of 'sir', it seemed more like it was used to make her think she was taking the moral high ground. After all, there's nothing immoral about animating undead to help save a child, right? "I am here to help you, yet you deprive me of my men." After giving her bonesaw a quick examine, she leaves it on her lap, folding her arms. "I can't help but think that for Priests, or whatever you're supposed to be, you're being rather discriminatory against those who are somewhat humanely challenged." She said, leaning on the arm rest of her throne, which was, resting her head on her hand. That was one of the few useful things Richard had done for her - taught her all these lovely ways to sue the crap out of people. Sure, there might not be a human lawyer who'd take her case; but Richard was qualified enough should the need arise.

"Alright." Negi nods and focuses on the cyst, closing his eyes for a moment and thinking at it, loudly. 'He says only you may enter. -Only- you.' He hopes she caught that thought to her before looking at Chamo, whispering. "What is it, Chamo-kun?" Oh, but, wait, she's already here. "Oh... Byrde-san. You're already here." o.o;

"I dunno, Aniki... something about him, it's... weird." Chamo shakes his head, settling down on Negi's shoulder and keeping an eye on Cirus. It was weird, there was something about him... Oh, gosh, and here comes the creepy little girl with the... oh, her big huge... -thing- isn't with her.

Regan approaches and sits on a mat to the side of Negi, Cirus taking the one next to her, opposite Negi. She looks at him and waves, smiling, before looking at Cirus, a bit concerned about how comfortable he is. She spares Cassandra a glance, somewhat embarrassed by her teachers... oh, what's the word? Well, the fact that she doesn't care where she is, she acts like she's better.

Normally, you'd think a demon would be quite conflict to be in a temple like this, on sacred ground and all, but... Cirus is special. I mean, lookit 'im. He gets along quite well with people. No senseless violence, no raids... Still. He's a demon, and, for those that know, it can be quite bothersome. Prejudice and all.

Needless to say, a lot of the guards were quite surprised by seeing what appeared to be a little girl on a throne of bones, the haunting scene of the seat itself and the dark doctor upon it being quite intimidating. They all stood there ground though as they reluctantly offered her passage, second guessing what the Elder was thinking, but obeying orders none the less as they let her pass.

When Cassandra entered the main chamber, it did cause panic, most of the people in there priestly robes either standing or even taking a stance, ready to cast a spell as the guards had either drawn their bows or remain ready. But, Eishun slowly raised his hand in a closed palm, his eyes fixed on the doctor as he silently told them all to stand down. As they did, hesitant about it but not questioning the Elder's orders, Eishun took a step to the edge of his part of the alter that was a few steps higher than the rest, not seeming to be too bothered by Cassandra's lack of respect, as well as her words.

"You could say that we are recieving a 'mixed message' as well, Doctor." He said calmly, his gaze stern, showing he was not at all threatened or intimidated by her, staying quite adamant as he looked at her. "You come at a time where we must choose between the lesser of two evils, and I can see that you have taken a bit of a 'bond' with Negi Springfield, which brings me to already question what intentions you may have. So do understand, caution is something that must be taken no matter who the intruder, espcially after the most recent news." Explaining himself quite thoroughly, he was only silent for a moment and took a short breath before continueing. "Now then... in what regards would you wish to help us. I still find it hard that someone like yourself has taken an interest in our society." Whether he was implying something, or simply making a point; it was hard to tell, but it was clear that he was suspicious, and with very good reason too. Still, he would take any help possible, yet was this kind truly right..?

Cassandra looked almost bored as she listened to what Eishun had to say. Not that she honestly cared about this whole thing. She was in this for one reason and one reason only; her own personal enjoyment. Although she couldn't help but find it rather amusing at the amount of chaos she'd managed to cause by just entering the room. Oh, this was definitely going to be fun. In the middle of the conversation, she swivelled around in her throne, leaning her back against one of the arm rests and draping her legs casually over the other one. It was an interesting question - why would she want to help? She didn't give two hoots about their orgranization or whatever it was. She just wanted to have a little fun and perhaps create a new species.

"I have no interest in your society; simply in this mission. I'm a doctor - I can heal undead or living creatures - and I have a private army that will never tire, never disobey, and never flee in terror. Remember: I'm offering this for free. Doctor Byrde is offering you her services for free. Run that through your brain a few times, and think about it. When was the last time you heard of Doctor Byrde offering anyone something for free?" A smirk crossed her face as she answered. Of course, it wasn't entirely unheard of for her to offer someone her services for free - but usually she had some sort of backstabbery planned; and this was no exception. She planned to use this little act of anti-heroism to negotiate her way to a bigger pay packet and possibly see about getting her own private lab on campus. As much as she liked her room, a full grafting laboratory would be so much easier for her.

She swivelled around back into the 'normal' sitting position, cracking her fingers. She produced her needle, threading it and casually stitching a seam across the palm of her hand; just to give her something to do with her hands. "Well, how about we put it this way? Either you can allow my friend Grundy and my twenty skeletons to help me save the girl, with full rights to the bodies of any and all casualties; or I'll summon Grundy here myself, and we'll take you to explain to the Headmaster personally exactly whose idea it was to refuse the generous offer of the good Doctor Byrde, and that because you did, the rescue mission failed." With a swift pull, she yanked the bloodied thread out of her hand - naturally, leaving no wound, and wrapped it around her index fingers, pulling it tight. "Your choice entirely." She said with a smirk as she licked her blood from the thread.

As many points as she decided to make; it still didn't change the fact of what she was. That wasn't necessarily why he was so reluctant though. With his daughter in danger, he would have personally accepted the help offered to her. But, the temple had it's standards, and he did not wish to defile it's name by seeking the aid of a vampire; even if she was actually offering her help and would have probably been able to fix this problem on her own.

'I can assure you, if something is not done, your existence would meet an untimely end.' But baring in mind what the letter said as well, it was just barely enough to convince him, and something did have to be done. The dilemma was a nightmare, and he could not stand having to face such a debate. But, as he thought about the threat of losing his daughter being something that could have become a reality... he finally came to a decision; swallowing his pride as he told his resolve.

"You have my permission. Just be sure not to kill anyone unless it is absolutely necessary. Even the criminals; I want them back alive." He didn't sounded firm, though definitely not too happy with this decision. But at this point, he had very little choice left it seemed...

A thin grin spread across the little Doctor's face. "You're a smart man. Maybe later we can talk real business. I could just picture you with a lovely pair of wings..." She shook her head briefly to snap her head out of her Surgeon mentality, she clapped her hands together, rubbing them to warm them up just a little. The cold grasp of undeath was a constant irritation that she'd gotten used to over the centuries; it was nice to be able to feel your fingers every once in a while. "No killing if it's not necessary, got it... Incidentally, I would like to lay claim right now to the bodies any accidental causalities that do occur. Purely for research purpose, of course." Of course, as far as she was concerned 'no unavoidable deaths', meant 'Kill as much as you like - just don't get caught animating them again'. After all, unless these magi were even stranger than she thought, and would actually be healing the kidnappers, nobody would ever find out. Of course, if they did, the whole 'oh my god our healing magic is burning the flesh off' thing would be rather a giveaway. She simply nodded, smiling. "Well then, if you would be so kind as to lower that little illusion of yours for my 'friends', I'll let Grundy know to come, and bring my skellies in with him. After all, I'd rather not leave them out there in the cold, shouting at passers-by about a breakingfest." She said with a chuckle, knowing all too well that nobody would have a bloody clue what she was going on about.

Now she was really pushing it. He could see past allowing her entry, and he could even find it easy to shrug off most of her comments, taking no seriousness to them as he found it to just be her own dark sense of humor. But when she decided to claim rights upon any of the dead, as well as defile this place further by bringing in some of her 'minions', he had to draw the line. Though he would do it in a manner that still left the 'negotions' possible, as he still found that even though Cassandra's presance was a sin, it was a blessing in the same.

"Unfortunately, they can still not be allowed entry. However I will meet them outside myself if you wish to inform them as well. I can understand the importance of your... friends." He continued, soundinf like he wasn't sure how to really place a title upon them and simply calling them friends of hers, even though he knew they were no more than her lackys. "That is the best that can be done. So if you will, we shall speak outside." The guards and priests all seemed shocked about this, concerned for the Elder, but with a calm, stoic expression upon Eishun's face, he stepped down from the platform and approached Cassandra. Or rather, he was to walk past her as he seemed ready to depart, determined to get things set right.

Fair enough. Cassandra knew enough about these little close-knit organizations to have guessed that they would probably have some sort of stupid policy against the undead; security risk or something - but at least now he was being marginally more co-operative. "That would be for the best - I like me troops to know the plan. Just one thing: Don't say anything insulting. The green-skinned one isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, and is liable to violence if you piss him off." Now that was an understatement if ever there was one.

A rather bored tone filled her voice as she added. "The previous statement qualifies as a legal disclaimer and as such any injuries that you may incur as a result of angering the Orc by the name of Grundy are your own fault and neither Doctor Byrde nor any of her creations are liable or responsible to pay any form of compensation, monetary or otherwise." The throne which she sat on turned itself around, and began heading towards the exit. As Cassandra systematically dislocated each of her fingers, joint by joint, and popped them back into their sockets. Nothing like a bit of relocation to loosen up the fingers for a battle.

This was getting rather troublesome... He could only wish that the Thousand Master was here at this point; Nagi seemed to have quite a knack for dealing with vampires of all sort, and would have been able to disuade Cassandra through his own expertise. That aside, Eishun would deal with this the best way he knew how, and as reluctant as he had felt about actually having the Kansai deal with the undead in this sort of manner, there was little choice in the matter of what he could do. After all, his own daughter was in trouble, and there was little that he currently could actually do.

Answering with a silent nod, feeling there was little need for words, the Elder had made his way towards the exit, accompanied but to well armored guards who seemed to prefer a bow over a blade. Both of whom seem a bit androdginous, poised, and adamant, following the Elder at his sides with obediance. Eishun did turn to look at Negi, Regan, Cirus, and even Chamo before he motioned for them to follow, offering a soft, assuring smile like everything was going to be alright.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 18, 2008 2:23 pm

Negi blinks softly, a bit perturbed by the conversation and outcome that had just now taken place. Eishun had been troubled, and now look what was happening. He nods softly as he is motioned to follow, petting Chamo a bit as he gets to his feet and follows along behind the Elder, Chamo keeping a careful eye on Cirus, suspicious of him.

Regan was irritated with Cassandra for causing so much trouble. She was cocky... they didn't -need- her to save Konoka, it would only be much easier with her along. She was tempted to tell her off, but it wasn't her call to make. She had no relation of any sort to Konoka, so... if Eishun wanted to go along with it, then she'd just have to bear with it. Two bowmen, though? That's all they're sending to guard him while he talks to Cassandra's minions? Ha. She'd have gone with him anyway, just to guard him better.

Cirus was, also, tempted to put Cassandra in her place. Wherever that place was, but he had managed to restrain himself. He didn't like how only the two bowmen were going along as the only guards, either... oh well. He had been motioned to follow, and so he would. No need to give them any reason to doubt him, after all.

"Let's go then, shall we~?" Cassandra said with a grin. Finally, a real battle. No holding back. Truly, it would soon be a time of Kicking a** and animating undead. Hopefully not in that order, though - otherwise the undead would be rather bored. Not that most undead actually had the mental capacity to be bored. Either way, this would be fun; especially for Grundy. She ignored the guards on her way out, simply grinning maniacally to herself.

[Cassandra marches out to the HQ entrance on her Bone Throne.]

"Hm?" Negi pulls out his cellphone, having received the message from Asakura. "Ah, some of them are waiting for us outside... I had intended for them to at least come in hrough the gate, but we're going out there anyway, huh?" The small teacher nods his head before starting to walk on ahead. "I'll go ahead and meet them outside. C'mon, Chamo-kun."

Chamo, as Negi walks on ahead, keeps an eye on Cirus before turning forward after they've gained some distance. He felt a little better as they gained got more distance from him, his unease lifted.

[Negi and Chamo leave to the entrance.]

[Kazumi, Ken, Mana, and Hakase enter from Entrance.]

Ken stood some ways away from the girls. He wasn't good at comforting and frankly had no idea how to even begin doing so. Sparing Asakura the sight had been it. He glanced over and saw that she stood close to Tatsumiya and Hakase.

It was then that he remembered and wondered about Xenon. And also wondered about the last member of his group. How could they talk with him around? Still looking at them, it did not seem that any one of them would be doing much talking about what happened this night.

Ken found himself shuffling over to them to wait for the arrival of the others. He had to admit to himself that if anything, the proximity of others was what he needed right now. It was not the time to be alone, even if it was just in your head.

((@Shadow, feel free to get my characters settled inside if you need to. I've dragged Hakase around, now it's her turn to drag my characters around.))

Regan enters the temple first, still carrying Konoka in her arms, careful and with dignity. She's wrapped in Cirus's cloak still, of course, and it's quite warm, snuggly. Soft, even, at least on the outside. Durable on the outside. She looks around for the elder, wondering where she should put Konoka down.

Cirus walks in with Xenon, spotting Satomi and the others, and Regan with the girl that had been on the alter in her arms. Of course she'd volunteer to carry the girl, Cirus can't help but thing, though he knows Regan has a good sense of timing, usually. It wasn't like her to take advantage of a situation like that, so he leaves her be. Instead, he turns and nods to Xenon. "We're here. Relax."
