Slowly opening her eyes once more, Satomi weakly managed to tilt her head, just enough to observe what Cassandra was doing. It was hard to tell to be honest, but she began to once again assume the worst. She had been tricked... or at least, that was how she saw it. Cassandra weakened her so she could do this spell that does, well, she didn't know yet. But seeing as how she was a vampire, nothing good could come of a spell inscribed from her own blood. "Stop it..." She said weakly, fearing that Cassandra was going to finish her off, perhaps make her one of her slaves or undead servants.

In all honesty, she didn't know what was going on, but after what Cassandra had done to her now, she didn't want this vampire to continue whatever she was doing, it looked haunting and unnatural. To put it simply, she was afraid; she feared that she was going to be put through a fate worse than death.

Cassandra ignored the Satomi's plea. After all, it only just dawned on her that there was a chance that she could very well have inflicted her with lethal poison. There was nothing to actually suggest this - after all, the effect had been temporary on everything else she'd tried it on; but everything she'd tried it on before was easily healed by negative energy. "Möge diese Energie, die ergriffen wurden, werden aus meiner eigenen, Überweisung auf das Mädchen zur Wiederherstellung ihr Gesundheit, auf Kosten meiner eigenen!" As she finished up the circle, the blood that she had used to write it in suddenly glowed a fierce white colour. It was good and bad. It was good, because it meant that it had worked. It was bad, because she knew that that was definitely going to hurt herself. A lot.

She had to grit her teeth fiercely together. She couldn't chicken out now - she had a reputation to keep, and she had promised to behave and be helpful. Accident or not, she doubted the head would look particularly kindly upon accidentally killing a student. She raised her voice, hiding her fear of the unknown result behind a confident shout.
"Böse Geister, offensichtliche! Grant mir die Kraft für eine solche Energie-Übertragung!" As she said this, she plunged her right hand downwards, directly into the middle of the circle.

Now it was Cassandra's turn to scream as she found herself unable to actually pull her hand away - it was as though her palm had melted to the floor. Then came the fire. A jet of white flame ran up her arm, burning the skin, then the flesh, and finally even incinerating the very bones. Cassandra's scream wasn't as loud as Satomi's - she had taken a lot of pain before, but she hadn't quite expected this. It seemed, however, that her arm was all that was needed for this spell. A good thing, too - it was hard work to stitch a new arm on with no hands. Instantly, her left hand reached across to the stump where her right arm had been - only to find that there was no wound. The arm had been cleanly burned off and the wound sealed - as if she'd never had the arm in the first place.

The flame lingered in the air in the shape of the arm for a moment, before fading into an orb of soft white light, which hovered over Satomi, before lowering itself gently into her. It was by no means a complete and utter perfect healing, but it would at least get her up and moving again. At least, that was what Cassandra hoped.

Her eyes widening as she watched, Satomi was still in a mix of doubt, pain, fear, and confusion, doing her best to remain conscious among the whole ordeal and trying to find out just what was happening. Without the knowledge of how to speak German though, she was still clueless on what Cassandra was doing, and even though she had a feeling it was something even worse than the pain she just went through. Still, despite her mixed feelings, she watched none the less, the fear almost subsiding to amazement at what she had seen.

But suddenly, all of Satomi's thoughts and doubts changed when she heard Cassandra scream. Why was she hurting herself?? What was the spell doing? Did something go wrong? Questions filling her mind as she saw the blood go white, Satomi wanted to get up and interfere, wanting the pain to stop, even if Cassandra was an enemy in her eyes, but though she may have wanted to, it was impossible for Satomi to move in the state she was subjected to. She was nothing but a puppet without strings, forced to witness the gruesome event as she watched it begin to consume Cassandra's arm in a brilliant white flame.

The scene would probably scar her mentally for life, especially after seeing the way the vampire girl had lost her entire arm in the process, but despite that, she still had to be thankful for the sacrifice. That was because when she had been hit by the light, all of her fears had melted away, just as her pain did while she felt a strange sense of ease from her suffering. She had... healed her? Twice now, Cassandra had shown her a strange sense of mercy, even kindness to a point that she thought that maybe... just maybe Cassandra wasn't so dark and evil after all.

Blinking a few times, amazed she was even able to do that after how weak she felt before, Satomi moved her arms and legs very slowly, struggling as the feeling returned to her body, and after a long breath, she managed to get on her feet. It took her a moment to gather herself, but without giving herself the time needed to really check herself over and how she felt, Satomi rushed over to Cassandra's side, kneeling beside her as she tried to help her, even if there was little she could do. "Wh-Why did you-? I mean, a-are you g-going to be alright? W-We need to do something." She couldn't believe she was actually looking at her with one less arm. Just... why? Why did she make such a sacrifice for her?

In all truthfulness, if she had any idea that the process would actually have burned her entire arm clean off, she probably wouldn't have gone ahead with it. Although, it had meant that she was able to stop Satomi from potentially dying - which would at least mean that she didn't have to worry about that. "I...I'll be fine..." She said with clenched teeth. The circle faded, and the blood along with it, as she grabbed the railing and hauled herself up onto her feet. This was, at least, something she could heal without too much difficulty. It'd just take a little bit of medical creativity, which, forunately, was something she excelled in.

Ordinarily, she could just rely on negative energy to regenerate the lost limb; but with the wound already sealed up by the spell, that wouldn't have had any effect. She needed a new arm; and of course, she had a contingency plan set up for just such an occasion. Except that she couldn't do it here - she'd left her bonesaw back in her suitcase - it wasn't exactly the most inconspicuous tool to carry around. "I... I need to get back to my room..." She sorely rubbed her shoulder, already missing her arm, still wincing from the pain - although the arm was gone, the feeling of the positive energy burning her still lingered.

After a few seconds while Cassandra spoke, satomi found her strength returning much more rapidly than she had thought possible, and before she knew it, she had been able to stabily remain on her own two feet, no longer gasping for breath or even looking as pallid as she had before. There was still a lingering pain in her body, but at this point it was something she had been able to tolerate, shirking it off for now as she slowly approached Cassandra.

She didn't know what compelled her to say what she was about to next, or what reasons she chose to, but it was already to late as she quickly spoke, almost demanding. "I'm coming with you." Whether it was concern or fear for her well being, or just the feeling of responsibility and even a slight curiousity, Satomi didn't feel it was right to just let her go after what she had done for her.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:31 am

Cassandra gave a weak smile. She could tell that even if she didn't want her to, that Satomi would be following her. Plus she still had to get rid of the cyst. "Ha ha... Alright then... I have a few things I'd like to ask you about, anyway..." She looked down at the sleeve of her shirt that was now hanging loosely. Grabbing the bottom of the sleeve, she folded it upwards so the end of it touched the shoulder, and stuck her needle into it. She knew that if she just left it flapping, that it would quickly get on her nerves.

Heaving a heavy sigh, she shook her head. The majority of the pain had faded now, leaving just a very strong stinging sensation, like she'd accidentally poured acid over it or something - but that was pain that she could easily ignore. "There is one thing before we go. I'll need a convicing lie in case anyone sees this..." She went to fold her arms, only to realize that she didn't have a pair of arms anymore to fold. A clearly unimpressed look spread across her face as she looked down at her arm with this realization, and she shook her head again. Disguising an additional limb was a lot easier than a lost one. Ordinarily, she'd just go gaseous; but she couldn't take Satomi with her like that.

This was all just so much for her to take in at once. Having been cured from Cassandra's bite before, the incredible trauma she had been put through, the spell Cassandra casted that actually healed her, seeing the vampire lose her arm, but most of all, noticing how... kind she could really be for someone who was supposedly evil. "Alright... that sounds okay with me." She responded at first, not having too much of a problem with receiving questions from Cassandra. After what she did and the sacrifice she made, Satomi would have allowed her to ask just about anything at this point.

As she finally gathered herself though, she couldn't help but give a smirk when she thought about the fact that Cassandra may not be so evil herself, and she suddenly quoted her, placing Cassandra's own words upon her. "You know, you're not such a bad person after all." She almost laughed, or at least she would have if she could've without any pain, but she still grinned a little after repeating Cassandra's own words.

Taking a final breath before she felt confident enough to walk, Satomi looked over the horizon once more before back at Cassandra, slowly reaching into her lab coat before putting on her glasses crookedly. "Couldn't you just become a bat, a wolf, or mist or something of that sort? Or is that another myth like silver, stakes, and garlic." Having found that out first hand back when she fought Cassandra, she was still a bit surprised by how the girl was indeed a vampire, but was unaffected by such means of attack. She had still been trying to rethink those weapons ever since, but if Cassandra was no longer an enemy, then such a thing may not be needed after all.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 3:23 pm

Cassandra raised an eyebrow at Satomi's remark about her 'not being such a bad person'. Of course, the girl had only seen her for a total of about thirty minutes, if that. "There's a rather large group of people that would disagree with you." Once again, she wanted to fold her arms, but this time remembered her lack of an arm before she started attempting to. Ordinarily, she would've rattled off tale upon tale of the vile acts she'd committed; but her lack of a complete pair of hands was annoying her already to the extent that she couldn't even be bothered to start one of her many stories.

Cassandra grinned, however, at Satomi's suggestion. "Well, in all fairness, if you'd gone against another vampire, your silver and whatnot would've been very affective." She pulled her needle out with her left hand, just to help get her point across. "But you see, it was me. In the same way that a normal doctor could say, adjust the genes of a rat to grow an ear on it's back; I can adjust my own ones in order to adjust my weaknesses. I still have them - but not against silver and all that. Because I know that's exactly what humans would try to use." She said with a slight chuckle, that was bordering on a quiet cackle. She always got at least a little bit carried away when talking about her works - even if they were the ones she'd done on herself.

"Although I don't have a Mist form. I have the form of a ball of Gas. Like Mist, but a lot harder to detect." She ran the idea through her head. As far as she was aware, there wasn't any actual proper fitted Air Conditioning vents that she could end up being sucked into; and it really shouldn't be that hard to find a spot where nobody would be able to see her reforming. Of course, there was the chance that she'd be noticed in her gaseous form - it was very transparent, but in an area where the only light was from artificial light sources, the very faint shadow could be noticed by someone who was keeping watch. Then she had another idea that could use the same principle. "...Do you have a bottle of water? Well, it doesn't have to be water. Any liquid'll do."

Satomi had a nervous smile and a bead of sweat came down her brow when Cassandra gloated on how she wasn't that good and other people would have been able to be an alliby to that. Almost immediately at that reply, she felt a little hesitant and nervous again, beginning to realize how massive of a risk she took in trusting her, and just how lucky she really was. Was she insane..?? Mixed thoughts filled Satomi's head, and an expression of a bit of doubt came to her face as she broke eye contact with Cassandra's, looking away for a moment as she bit the edge of her lip nervously. The girl helped her, but she was still a threat. This was almost like a 'calm before the storm' kind of moment, and she began to ask herself just why she actually had trusted her. Sure, in the end, it paid off, and she could already tell how she was normal again since she couldn't see as well in the darkness, meaning her 'darkvision' had been gone, but still... what if it was a trap? She would have been dead by now and a slave to Cassandra...

She managed to slowly push those feelings aside, regaining her confidence awfully fast; mostly because Cassandra had really tickled her ego by commenting on her ingenious little inventions against vampires. As well, it was like she was saying if she got attacked by a different vampire, Satomi would have won.

That all aside though, she put her focus on the present instead of the past, and she found herself taken off guard by Cassandra's next question. What on earth did she need water for? Or for that matter, if any fluid could replace it, then what purpose did this serve. Shaking her head at first, having nearly nothing in her lab coat at the time -which was really saying something since she almost never left without a few gadgets-, her eyes suddenly widened a bit as if a light bulb had gone off. "Ah, wait, I might have something." She said with a quick smile, patting down her pockets again before she came across the breast pocket of her uniform. There was one thing she had, though she wasn't sure if it was enough. "Here you go, is this good? It's.. all I have." As she pulled out a small bottle, nearly dropping the handkerchief that was with it, she had handed it to Cassandra. The white bottle was clearly labeled as glasses cleaner, but wasn't very large. In fact, it had an eye dropper at the end and was no bigger than a few inches in length, and not even an inch in thickness. She really had nothing else though, so she had hoped it would do.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 4:16 pm

Cassandra looked at the bottle for a moment, before shaking her head, handing it back to Satomi. "No, this is far too small... I couldn't squeeze in there even in my gaseous form." She'd been planning to go into a bottle of liquid and transfer her gas into lots of tiny bubbles, after which she could be carried into the hotel totally inconspicously without anyone noticing. If that was all that Satomi had, then that was out of the window.

Scratching her chin for a moment in thought, it finally occured to her as to what she could do. She carefully pulled out the black bottle again, handing it to Satomi. Obviously, she couldn't open the bottle herself right now. "Alright, what I'll do is transform into gas, and then I'll just sit in the bottle for the trip. As soon as we get outside my room and the coast is clear, you open the bottle, and I'll come out." She paused for a moment, before nodding. She didn't have any open wounds, so even if she did have to transform back inside the bottle and shatter it because of Satomi's lack of co-operation, she wouldn't have to worry about it. "Open the bottle up and I'll slip in. Just make sure you don't spill any of it." The bottle neck was so long, and the powder filled less than half of it, so it would be quite hard to spill it accidentally.

Right, a conversation like this sounded totally normal... Taking the small container of glasses cleaner fluid back, pocketing it right back where she once had it, Satomi let out another sigh, feeling like this whole day, especially right now was just so strange and hard to believe. Driviline's 'surprise' in breakfast this morning, Bento lunch lizards, Xenon's unexplainable behavior, snapping and literally hitting a student, and now this? Yea... she would like to hear anyone try and tell her they had a worse or stranger day than she had, they couldn't even come close to her own. Still, hopefully tonight was coming to a close as she found herself slowly taking the bottle Cassandra handed her, deciding to go with what she said. After this, she could just relax at the hotel room and sleep... at this point, that was all she wanted.

"Alright then. I'm still not feeling my best though, so it may be awhile before I get there." She said with a small, pained grin, explaining how she would probably only be able to walk there in her state. And judging by the distance too, she might have to stop a few times, just standing like this was already making her feel a little winded.

Uncorking the bottle, or at least trying to it took Satomi a few seconds to take the ridiculously long cork out before finally getting it opened. Personally, she was fascinated by the paranormal, mostly because she wanted to explain it with science, so she had a bit of anticipation in seeing Cassandra transform, and she held out the opened bottle know, waiting and watching to see what she would do.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 6:03 pm

"Well, if you do take too long, I'll be sure to let you know." Cassandra said, unable to prevent a maniacal grin from spreading across her face as she pointed down towards Satomi's ankle. "You see, that lump on your ankle - that cyst - it allows me to project my thoughts directly into your mind. Not like brainwashing - it's basically the same as if I stand next to you and talk." Of course, she had no problem with telling the girl this - as she intended on removing the cyst later, anyway. She had said - or at least implied - that she would, so she wouldn't go back on it now. After all, there were things she wanted to discuss with this girl.

Shutting her eyes for a moment, Cassandra's body began to transform into an almost invisible gas, coloured dark purple. It was barely visible, but if you knew where it was and were to focus on it, you'd notice it. As she finished the transformation, her form shifted into an orb, which then squeezed itself into the bottle. It was a rather tight fit to condense herself down so much; but there was room enough for the cork to fit.

[I'm calling it an early one tonight - Got to be out early tomorrow to play my new Alienist; so you can effectively puppet Cassandra around, seeing as she's in the bottle and all]

((Okay then, sleep well. ^_^ ))

With a firm nod, Satomi held out the bottle, waiting for what was going to happen next. She bared in mind what Cassandra had told her, and only then did she come to a realization when she routed it back to someone who had a similar problem. Negi!! Just the other day, he came to her, showing that same cyst she had! This opportunity was golden, she could see how Cassandra removed it, and then use the method in him to- Eep! No-no-no, she can read her thoughts, she needed to think of something else, quickly! Um... her experiments, research, Xenon, Regan, the class trip! Pushing out her thoughts of Negi completely, wanting to be safe with her thoughts, she could only hope Cassandra was too busy focusing on the transformation to actually listen in on her slip up with her thoughts. Friend or foe, she still needed to be careful around this girl...

That was when it happened; she was witnessing first hand a vampire actually changing form. She had to admit, the spectacle was astounding, for someone like herself who studied just about anything that required a scientific explanation; this was golden. Even to this day, the mystery of vampires and other paranormal creatures were misunderstood, and she would do just about anything to have the time to study her chemical and genetic material and how it's able to reconfigure into a completely different atomic matter. Not to mention what she had become was a non-living thing, but seeing her well in control; as she was the gaseous substance herself, it baffled the young scientist. She was nearly stunned for a few seconds, almost forgetting to put the cap on before she regained her senses after such a display, but she soon found herself able to shake off her awe and corked the bottle, putting it in her lower lab coat pocket. "O-Okay... the quickest way from here..." Running a brief map in her mind, thinking about any shortcuts that may be available, Satomi soon found herself departing the stage, barely able to keep alight jog due to her total exhaustion, but.. it was good enough.

[Satomi leaves with Cassandra back to the Arashi Mountain Hotel]

{Sosuke enters with Driviline from the Arashi Mountain Hotel.}

Walking with Driviline to the stage, Sosuke glance around, taking off his aviators. It wasn't very sunny anyway. The place was still as magnificent as he remembered, the air up here crisp and cool, but just right. Some say that being there numerous times, the view got old and boring. But Sosuke was one of those people who believed the beauty would age, but it would never leave.

Driviline happilly follows Sosuke up to the stage. Even though it wasn't all that sunny, he didn't take off his shades. He looked over the edge for awhile. He looked over at Sosuke and let out a bit of a sigh. "It must be nice to be able to see the land that you called home once again." There was a slight hint of envy in the sound of his voice.
