Guinevere frowned. "Teleportation magic is VERY advanced." she said seriously. "They don't even mention it in my book until halfway through." She leaned against the teacup rim, peering up doubtfully at Kemuri. Was he a master wizard, maybe? He had never mentioned it before, but he LOOKED like one, now she thought about it. "Let me see!" she said. Where was he keping his runes? Maybe he'd just draw them on the ground.

"It is huh? watch carefully and keep your eye on the coin." He said as he fiddled around with it moving it gracefully with his fingers. He stopped as the coin was standing upright between his index and middle finger. He held his other hand under the hand the coin was in. He opened his fingers up and let the coin dropped, but no coin fell onto his other hand. He moved his hands and showed Guin that he wasn't holding a coin. "Do you know where it went, Guin?" he asked with a smile on his face.

Guinevere gasped and studied his hands closely before looking at the bottom of the teacup for the missing coin. "How did you do that?" she demanded excitedly. "You never told me you knew magic!" She got up from her search of the floor and looked confused. "I can't find it anywhere. Where is it?"

Kemuri laughed as the girl got down on the floor to search for the coin. "You'll never find it on the floor. The coin hasn't come back that fast. Now come' on, get back up or your clothes will get dirty." He said with a chuckle. "This magic's amateur level, it's not worth mentioning." He said with a hearty laugh. He hadn't laughed this much in a while.

Guinevere got up and dusted herself off, looking perplexedly at Kemuri. "But of course it's complicated! I could never teleport anything!" she said adamantly. "It's amazing, that's what it is, even if it is only a coin. You should be proud." How could he not realize the magnitude of his achievement, she wondered?

Kemuri laughed at her ways of thinking. He reached a hand and petted her head. "I'll show you how to do it after i bring the coin back. okay? Then you can show Kotatsu some safe magic" He told her with a chuckle and a smile. He had never actually gotten the trick to work since in broad daylight, Lily always saw through his magic somehow.

Guinevere nodded solemnly, waiting for Kemuri to make it reappear. Ktoatsu would HAVE to admit magic was real now. After all, hadn't Guinevere just seen it with her own eyes? "Where did you learn it?" she insisted, still pestering Kemuri with questions. "Was it hard? Could I do it?"

Kemuri smirked softly. "I learned it from a REAL Magician. He said anyone could learn it. And you're part of anyone, but you have to believe magic is real." He said to her, moving his hands in the same fashion he did before. "Now watch carefully." He said as he moved a hand and twisted a lock of Guin's hair behind her ear. "see?" He said as he held up a shiny silver coin that glimmered in the lantern light. "it was hidden in your ear the whole time." He said with a chuckle.

Guinevere gasped and felt her ear. "Oh!" she said in surprise. "Why didn't I feel it?" She looked suspiciously at Kemuri and said "Don't show me!" She looked at him stubbornly, blue eyes flashing. "If you say anyone can learn it, I'll figure it out on my own!" She was smart enough, she thought. "That way I can surprise you with it one day." she insisted. Anyway, she hadn't seen Kemuri in a long time. She didn't want to learn things from him, he was her best friend. "How have you BEEN?" she insisted.

Kemuri chuckled as he put the coin back in his pocket. "I've been doing well. Been a bit bored over the summer though. It's not the most exciting thing to be lazing around the house." He answered truthfully. He wanted to invite her over for some juice and cookies but Lily's parents don't know she has a Herald in her house, so he couldn't. He could invite her to a picnic or something or treat her to ice cream at the mall, but... just not back to the abode of Lily and Kemuri.

Guinevere yawned, covering her hand delicately. "M'sorry..." she said. "It's the same thing here... Just being cooped up in the house, nothing to do. At least last year there was a masquerade..." She blinked and looked more awake. The masquerade, that's right! "Kemuri, it's been a year since I first saw you!" she exclaimed. "A whole year." She looked pensieve. In that year, Kemuri had gotten to know her better than anybody. She didn't know muich about him still, but... She could safely call him her dearest friend. That was a lot to happen in one year. "Kemuri, we'll always be friends." she insisted, yawning again. It was getting hard to stay awake. "We should do something sometime... Make our own masquerade... Something."

Kemuri smiled softly and wrapped an arm around Guin. She was still a kid after all and who knew what time it was. He pulled her closer so she could lean on his shoulder as her words meshed into nothing. "haha. yes. we'll have our own masquerade one day..." He said, yawning as well. He didn't believe yawning was contagious so he thought he was just very tired. He drifted off to sleep, closing his eyes softly; not really paying attention if Guin went to sleep or not.

Guinevere yawned again as Kemuri's warm arm wrapped around her. "Promise...?" she asked tiredly, but no answer came. Kemuri had fallen asleep. Guinevere smiled. Wasn't the little girl supposed to fall asleep before the grown ups did? She patted Kemuri's black hair softly before falling asleep next to the older Herald as well. "Mmmm... G'night Kemu..." she mumbled quietly.

Kotatsu was making breakfast. She always got up early, like Guinevere. The Herald hadn't even made a peep yet and it was nearly eight, though. Breakfast would be done soon. The orange-haired woman sighed. Guinevere ran her ragged, the young herald gave the older girl all the trouble she could handle. The problem, the guardian figured, was that she lacked authority, whereas Guinevere had enough authority to boss even Napoleon around.
Kotatsu remembered when Guinevere was quiet and moody. Oh, how nice that was. Now she was loud and moody, knowing that she could get her way with the weaker girl. Kotatsu figured if she had even the smallest shred of respect for her, she would treat her more like the had supposedly treated Aaron. Thinking about this grumpily, Kotatsu put a sausage in Pucci's cat dish and climbed up the stairs to Guinevere's attic room. "Guinevere, breakfast." she called.
No one was there. Kotatsu felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. She looked in the bathroom. Nothing. She ran to every room in the house, even closets.
Nothing, nothing, nothing.
She ran outside. "GUIN-E-VEEEEEEEEERE!" she yelled.
Nothing. She staggered inside and shut the door. "Guin..." Grabbing at the phone, she made a last ditch effort and dialed a number.
The phone rang for what seemed like an eternity.

Loud music blared out from Lily's room. It played the rock version of the instrumental of Reborn's 'Dive To World'. It rang for a few seconds before a small voice mumbled. "Kemuri... answer the phone..." But there was no reply and the little pink cellphone just continued to ring.
"fine fine." She said as she dug her hand out from under the blanket and grabbed the phone. She repeated her sequence of words over the phone. They roughly made out to. "If you're Isaac, go away. If you're Kotatsu go ahead..." She said. It was part of her normal routine to be called at the most random times by Kotatsu for something weird and involving Guin.

Kotatsu's voice quavered as the shy girl stammered to Lily over the phone. "Lily, I can't find Guinevere anywhere.... Please, please tell me she got up early to visit Kemuri or something... Is Kemuri there? has he seen her today? Lily, I'm so worried..." She broke off, stifling a sob of frustration. "Lily, she's never not been here in the morning. What if she was kidnapped, or... or..." Kotatsu sunk to the floor, phone in hand, a million horrifying possibilities running through her head.
