Giza watched quietly as she dug into the fresh kill, the iron scent of blood filling his nostrils and luring him toward the meat. He leaned over and tore some for himself, juice dripping silently from his maw and hitting the ground in small splotches.
He munched happily till he had his fill, and then sat at the side of the carcass. He watched Moja for a moment as he formulated words, darkness had quickly grown in over them. "Moja, it has been a pleasure." He nodded his head down to her. "The rest is yours to do with as you please, and I will be departing now." He stood, turned, and walked a few paces before adding. "I'm sure we'll meet again in the future. The world is not large enough to keep two souls apart forever." He turned his head and looked to her, red eye reflected moonlight and light paws being almost the only visible part of him in the darkness. And soon he turned back and trotted off into the night.
