Shi slid her hand into her bag, and pulled out a few more coins, as she drained the rest of her glass. She set the money beside the coins; a tip for Tank. She stood, stretched and grabbed her baag as she threw her clock over her arm, and head out into the cold night air.
She inhaled the chill air, letting it calm her body, as she started walking back to the Inn. She swung open the door, a swift breeze ruffling the cutrains inside, entered, and closed the door behind her.

"Work eh? What kind of work you lookin' for? Pretty girl like you could get a job just about anywhere her heart desired I reckon."
He smiled at her and then nodded to Shi as she put the coins on the counter and turned to leave. He scooped the money up dropped it into the pocket of his faded black apron. He then picked up the empty glass of bloodwine and put began washing it in the sink. That done, he used the towel he had slung over his shoulder to dry it off and finally, he stuck it upsidedown in the sanitation tray.
He leaned on the bar and grabbed a glass, poured Nolah's drink and put it on the bar in front of her. Then he picked up yet another glass, filled it with tap water and sipped at it.
"You looking to retail? Food industry? Desk job? Dark Haven isn't a big joint, just a little stroll through the freezing cold desert, yeah? We haven't got much to offer job-wise. I'll bet I could talk some people into letting you work in one of the shops on Broad St. Or maybe I could take you on here?"

Shi entered the Tavern, a draft of air following as she closed the door behind her. She took the same seat she had sat in earlier, and dropped her bag to her feet. She sat back in the stool, and looked around, seeing if anybody was still around.
She bent over and pulled a sketchbook from her bag, and opened to an empty page. She pulled a charcoal pencil out of her hair, and began sketching the tavern, trying not to include any people who may be in the scene. As Shi drew, she began humming the same song she had earlier.

"Actually...I'm a dancer." She said, one of her ears twitching. " And not the kind of dancer you're probably thinking about. Yes, my dancing is exotic but I don't take off my clothes...well many of them anyways. I studied eastern dancing...you know the kind I'm taking about?" She took a drink and smiled. "Usually I just dance at parties and highclass stuff but I'll be willing to dance anywhere. Even if this place isn't so great as you say, I think I might like to make a home here, you know?"

Rien wafted the smell of the Jack Daniels under her nose and her eyes opened rather quickly. Now this was the stuff she liked from time to time. With a quick gulp, a little shiver and a slight grimace, she swallowed the drink and felt it warming her from her chest upwards and downwards. It went to her head quickly though, and she felt slightly dizzy. She could feel the others looking at her slightly, not knowing whether to laugh or be concerned. "Let them laugh," she muttered ungraciously, "Elves can't take their alcohol as well as others." She raised one eyebrow and looked back down at her glass.
"Why don't you join us, doll? We won't bite," Rien heard the vampire say. She then appeared to realise what she had just said, but shrugged it off. "Er.. Not you, anyways." She indicated to the seat beside her, but as Rien debated whether to move or not, the vampire left and the talk moved to Tank and Nolah instead.
Rien went back to her thoughts, her head in her hands. The others probably thought she was an untalkative, anti-social recluse, but she wasn't bothered because they didn't know her. No one really did. "Maybe it's time someone did," she thought glumly.
Shi, the vampire, walked back in and let a cool breeze drift towards Rien. She stood and walked softly towards her. "Actually... I'm a dancer," she heard Nolah say. Rolling her eyes at the thought of wanting attention and not wanting to hide in the shadows, Rien forced herself to keep walking.
"Erm..." she mumbled so softly that no one looked up. She cleared her throat. "Does anyone mind some more company?" She asked, expecting to be sent away again. She put a couple of coins on the table for the whisky, and looked around for an answer. Not expecting one, she turned to go back to her corner.

Shi set a caring hand on the woman's shoulder as she turned away. "Nonsense, love. The more the merrier, right?" Shi gestured to the still empty seat beside her, offering it to her in hopes she would join them.
She turned her head slightly to Nolah. "A dancer, eh? Must be fun." Shi smiled, although her eyes seemed to take the effect of slight wanting, or perhaps reminiscence. She blinked the look away, and faced the girl whom she had her hand on.
She removed the slender hand, assuming that the elf may not like her contact. Shi leaned back into her chair, and replied, grinning, "So, how's about it, hmm?"

Shi looked around boredly, now finished with her sketch. She shut her book, and shoved it and the pencil back into her bag. Sighing, she swiveled around in her stool, and started counting the bottles against the wall. Finding an empty one, and pointed at it, and made it do tricks in the air, trying to amuse herself.

Kiavra sighed sullenly; she'd had a rough day. Work sucked, to say the least. Not to mention those over eager bast- well, she didn't even want to think about them right now. But then, her mind asked softly, why was she going into a bar in which there'd most certainly be at least three drunken fools who were even crazier than her workmates? 'Well, she thought to her thought, 'At least here I can punch 'em without beng sued.'
This seeming a sufficient answer, Kiavra's brain allowed her to reach out and open the door, entering hurriedly as the telltale pitterpatter of rain began to start its meldious song. "It's just like a movie," she muttered gruffly, hanging her coat on the love-tester. It wasn't anyone used the rickety old thing anyway. "Oi, Tank! Break me up a nice VB would ya? Actually, no. Make it ale. My god, the day I've had." she gave a mirthless chuckle, sleek voice coiling softly despite the bitter tone. "Oh, and hey all. How's it going?"

When no reply came, Nolah took another drink and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her pointed ear. In come places she'd gone, having cat ears was quite unusual but no one seemed to mind here. She smiled into the rim of the glass and drank again. "Tank can I have a beer please?" She asked politely. "While you try and get me an answer about some work?" There was a glimmer in her amber eyes and she down the rest of her shot before greeting the newcomer. "Hey Kiavra. Another rough day I assume?"

'Hmm thanks,' replied Rien enthusiastically. She grimaced, as she thought she was being too enthusiastic. It was always difficult to tell, as she was usually on her own and not used to company.
'A dancer, eh?' She mused, at Nolah's comment. It seemed so nice to be able to give yourself a title, whether it was just a job title or a real title, and to sit at a bar and chat to friends as though there weren't problems in your life. Rien rolled her eyes. Like that would happen in a rush.
'Tank,' she murmured inaudibly. 'I bet he has a background and a half, like me,' she thought to herself. She just smiled at him briefly, then blushed and looked away. 'He's half asleep though,' she giggled, then stopped herself. 'Like you normally are,' she scowled at herself.
So she continued the little conversation to herself for a while, before noticing Shi's sketch. 'May I?' she asked, and pointed at the picture inquistively.

Shi smiled and nodded, "Sure, I always like hearing people's input." She bent over and pulled the book from her bag, and turned to the page, about halfway through. She handed it to Rien, and turned to face the bar.
She looked around, trying to locate Tank. She was hoping to grab a drink, or maybe something to eat. The words running through her mind were scattered, but connectted all the same. "A hamburger sounds nice.. Tank looks like the kind of fellow who can cook a good meal.. Or fail miserably at it. Oh, and I must get more supplies for the Moonbit.. Hmm.. I wonder what makes Rien so..apprehensive? Oh well, she'll tell me if she wishes.." She shook her head, trying to end the rambling in her head.
She fiddled with a toothpick that had been on the bar, making it float and do aerial tricks.

'Oh, it's great,' exclaimed Rien geniunly. 'It has such a likeness to here. I've always wanted to be good at drawing, but I failed.' Then she added, almost inaudibly, 'Like most things.'
She looked back at Shi, who was now making her toothpick to the backflip, and her eyes widened. 'Er... How do you do that? Is it something someone can learn?' she asked inquistively.

Nolah could usually keep her patience but for some reason she was fighting the urge to jump over the counter and get the drink herself. She also had a sudden urge to show off her feline agility but kept that to herself. Having a mother who was a cat-girl was something she hadn't come across too much in her travels outside of home. She swallowed the rest of her drink and smiled at Rien and Shi.
"So where are you from Rien?" She asked, deciding that invading Tank's counter was not a good plan. " You seem kind of...apprehensive."

'Apprehensive?' thought Rien inwardly. 'Well that's nice.' She looked at the girl before her, wondering whether she could call her a girl or whether she was just a creature. Well she was certainly apprehensive of all of these confusing new beings, which she kept meeting, but that was for her to decide.
She continued thinking to herself, glad that no one else could hear what she was thinking, and replied calmly: 'Well, you know... I'm from here and there. Nowhere in particular.' She didn't talk about her past, especially not with strangers, but she presumed Nolah was just trying to be nice.
However, not wanting to have to dredge up bad memories, she turned back to Shi expectantly. It would take time, she knew, for bad memories to become just memories, and for the past to be remembered properly and not as just a dark blur of hate and misery.

Nolah watched Rien turn back to Shi and swallowed a sigh. Was she really that frightening. She assumed the girl didn't want to delve into her past-probably have a caravan of bad memories, not unlike herself and the others. What had she been thinking asking her where she was from? Nolah never liked to answer questions from her past. It wasn't exactly something she was happy about. Tank still hadn't brought her another drink and she sighed, set down her empty glass with the right amount of pay and a tip and got up from her stool. Her dark cloak was quickly fastened about her shoulders, obsuring her long beaded skirt and tattered sweater. Without wishing anyone farewell she departed, out into the night.
