Skye smiled warmly and continued to massage Syrus's back for several long minutes until she had massaged every inch of it and gotten rid of every single kink and tight muscle she could find.
"Done," she announced finally, sitting back and crossing her legs, folding her hands in her lap and smiling at him. "Feel better?"

Syrus hoisted himself up into a sitting position and smiled back at Skye.
"Very much. Thank you," he said as he gave another stretch as to enjoy the fact that it didn't hurt when he did it. After allowing silence to pass for a few moments, he gave a sigh.
"So, what shall we do first?" he asked.

"Have picnic," Skye replied immediately, smiling brightly. "Suzura have to leave later, and iced tea get warm if we not drink right away. Good to have picnic lunch, and then can play after!"
She giggled. "Did you bring blanket? Skye have blanket if need ..."
Her mother had made sure to pack plenty of extras of everything, really ...

"Shoot!" Syrus said all of a sudden, feeling rather stupid. He forgot a blanket to eat on. He then laughed at his stupidity and sighed.
"No, I need a blanket for us to eat on. I forgot one...If you set it out I'll start getting the food ready, all right?"
Suzura bounced happily. 'Yay! Syrus makes such good food! I can not wait!'

Skye giggled and reached out to pat Syrus reassuringly on the shoulder. "It is okay," she smiled at him. "I bring one."
She giggled at Suzura and reached into her bag, pulling out a large blue blanket, then rose to her feet and shook it out, then placed it out on the grass. Once it was ready, she grabbed her bag and set it on the corner, then removed her sandals and sat down on it.
"Come sit," she smiled at the other two, patting the blanket beside her. And she opened her bag and pulled out the flask of iced tea and three plastic cups - easy to wash but not breakable.

While Skye was getting the blanket set out, Syrus was busy looking through baskets. He honestly didn't know what on earth Skye liked, which was one reason he brought so much, so she could find something tasty for her to eat.
He first brought out a plate of Onigiri, one of his favorite ways to start a meal. Half of the rice balls were flavored with Chinese 5 spice, while the other half were stuffed slightly with pickled Japanese plums. Setting them in the middle, he motioned for them to dig in.
"Let me get one more thing out..." he said, then went back to going through one of the three baskets.
Suzura was quick to pick up a rice ball with a plum inside. They were her favorite. As she nibbled away, she sat down next to Skye. Rarely did she wear shoes, so she didn't have any to take off.

Skye recognized the food from the meals that they had at home, and her eyes lit up and she licked her lips slightly as Syrus set it all out.
"It all looks so good," she murmured, her wings fluttering excitedly as she waited for Syrus to join them again. She wanted to eat, but it was polite to wait until everyone was ready ...
She fidgeted a bit while she waited, eyes sparkling as she watched Syrus digging around for something else.

Syrus came back with a plastic plate of sliced lettuce, tomatos, and onions and sat them down quick before reaching into another basket and pulling out something with foil wrapped around it, a fork, as well as some buns sliced in half that his mother was kind enough to purchase at a market. Setting them all down he unwrapped the foil to reveal boneless chicken breast that had been grilled, and placed the fork to aide in moving the food from foil to bun.
"Chicken sandwitches," he stated as he sat down.

Skye's eyes lit up when she saw the chicken and the buns and all the things to go on it, and she giggled softly and smiled brightly up at Syrus.
"It all look so yummy," she told him sincerely.
Then she remembered the iced tea, and she lined up the three cups (one of which was half the size of the others) and filled them all about halfway. They could always pour themselves more, but the fuller the cups were, the more likely they were to spill.
"Drinks ready," she beamed, holding out the tiny cup to Suzura and one of the bigger ones to Syrus.

Suzura stopped nibbling on her riceball to reach out and grab the cup and sip. Ah, so refreshing.
'Very tasty Skye, thank you,' she said before returning to her drink and food.
"Thanks," he said when she complimented him on the food looking good, blushing a bit. Syrus then took his cup and took a sip with a smile. "Feel free to start eating Skye," he said

Skye smiled at Suzura, and then at Syrus, and she held up her cup as if making a toast. She knew there was something her brother Shiro said every time he ate a meal ... but for the life of her she still couldn't figure out what it was. Instead of saying anything, then, she simply took a sip of her iced tea and set about to prepare herself a chicken sandwich.
Once she had taken a bite, she smiled at Syrus. "Is very good," she told him after she had swallowed. "Did you make it all by yourself?"

The two mimicked Skye's toast, and Syrus said a quick 'To friends', and they both took a sip of tea.
Syrus nodded. "Yeah, for the most part. I'm not very athletic, or good at singing or art or anything like that. All I have left to do practice is my cooking, which I do everyday, seeing as my mom gets busy and I want to help around the house..." he said with a slight blush still on his face.

Skye watched Syrus's mouth closely, anxious not to miss a word that he said. But there was one that stumped her ...
"Ah ... th ... huh?" She blinked helplessly, blushing as she looked at Syrus. "Can say that word again? I not know it ..."
And she moved closer so that she could see the movements of his tongue, feel the vibrations of his throat, and perhaps, hopefully, figure out what word he was saying.

Syrus had to stop and think about what he had just said to figure out what word Skye was asking for. Once he thought he figured it out, he gave a nod
"Athletic," he said a bit more slowly so that Skye could catch it this time around.

"Ath ... le ... tic," Skye repeated softly, and then she nodded and repeated it more surely, "Athletic."
She sat back a bit to give Syrus his space and then smiled sheepishly at him. "Does athletic have hand sign?" she asked, holding up her hands to show what she meant. "I do not know the word to say it but maybe I already know what it means with sign ..."
Sign language was after all the way she had learned what words were and what they meant.
