She did. Instead of being afraid of him, Anna simply observed his eyes and markings. In her mind, they were beautiful.
"Yes?" Anna asked, wondering what brought upon the soft command.

Very slowly, he stepped closer to Anna, barely an inch of space between the two. Very, very gently, he tilted her face up to his with the hand not holding hers. "Trust me Anna." The words came out whispered in a soft tone as Pyralis touched his lips to hers in a soft kiss. Silver koi swam around them in a circle with the brassy fish standing out in the silver swarm. Pulling back just a bit, he spoke in the same quiet voice. "You are the most beautiful sight I have ever laid my eyes apon. You are the brilliance of the night that beckons me to you." If he hadn't known the feeling of magic, he would had said this was witchcraft; but he knew the feeling. This was no witchcraft. It was the unexpected meeting of two souls perfect for each other. Soulmates, some said.

The feeling sent a shock through her heart, one of excitement and perhaps even a bit of fear. What was it about those not human, that when they found someone to bond with they had no barriers? Humans were masters at building castles around themselves, making their hearts near impenetrable places. Anna's heart had been broken before, but he had not been like Pyralis. Already, within a few hours, she could see that, and even feel it with her unnatural open heart to everything.
A few moments passed before she realized she had been staring at him with a blush unrivaled by all the others.
"Pyralis..." she said softly, gripping his hand just a bit tighter. No words really came to her other than, "You're terrible." But the smile she had made her face glow as she leaned her forehead on his chest in an embrace.

Oh how he loved the way she blushed. Both arms wrapped around her to hold her close, he sighed contentedly and rested his chin on the top of her head. "Then you'll just have to stay near me to balance me out." Pyralis just let them embrace as such for a long time. Let the world pass by for awhile without them, but sadly they had to return to the present. He squeezed her slightly. "Dear Anna, my dear Anna. I would hold you forever, but I feel your shivers even with you against my body and I believe it's time you got some rest." Before she could objects, he laughed and kissed the top of her head. "It wouldn't be appropriate to linger here any longer anyways."

He was right. Standing in cold water wasn't helping keep away the chilly night air. Her wearing a skirt didn't make her any warmer, either. But how she wished she could stay right there with him and not worry about admitting students or finding a teaching position.
"I dreamed that kiss before," Anna said, taking his hand and leading him out of the water. "Are you sure you haven't fallen out of one of my books?" After getting over the initial shyness, Anna was back to her smiling, light-hearted self.

"Well, I seem to not be dripping any ink after getting wet." He pretended to examine himself for said ink. "Nope, I must be real." The difference in Anna pleased the man. The hesitation was gone; she really trusted him.
His boots on, Pyralis, still the gentleman, took Anna's arm again to escort her back to the school the proper way. "We'll have you back and warm in no time, Amael." Amael meant beloved in Anna's language, in elven.

Anna giggled as she watched him. He had a heart of gold, though something told her that when he was angry, it was a deep-set kind, not easily swayed. But, there was no reason to worry about that then.
"Why thank you, Pyralis. You truly are a dream..." She ventured a kiss on his cheek before allowing him to lead her back, a soft thing like a butterfly had brushed his face.

The water garderns were glowing in the afternoon sun, a breeze tempering the heat to a comfortable level. Hand in hand a couple that looked like they stepped right out of an old romance novel walked up the path at a leisurely pace. Smiles lit both faces. The question of their presence was answered by the old fashioned picnic basket the man carried.
"How about here?" Pyralis gestured to a dry patch of grass next to one of the beautiful ponds.

Anna felt as if she was walking in a dream during the trip to the gardens. They were simply walking and chatting, laughing at each other's stories, but it all felt so incredibly... sound, Anna believed was the word. Everything between them was right.
"Lovely." Anna released his hand so she could fish the blanket out from the basket. "You take one end, I take the other?" she suggested, as the blanket was rather large for just one person to spread.

He nodded, setting the basket to the side and helping her spread out the blanket. The man then proceeded to 'seat' her and then lay out the meal he had prepared. Being in the park where less people would watch or happen by, he had prepared much more than normal so that he could eat more than normal. Why couldn't his apetite shrink with his size when he was in the form?

"Goodness, you could feed Keystone with all this," Anna joked, though she was rather surprised that Pyralis could eat so much. "But it all looks lovely. How long did it take for you to put this all together?"
Anna helped herself to a small plate, filling it with small cheese cubes and some bread and butter for starters.

Deep-throated laughter filled the air. "So you could." He started with a sandwhich, already considering what he wanted next. "It actually didn't take too long. I enlisted the help of the school's cooking staff, but seasoned it all myself." As much as he ate, Pyralis had become a considerably good cook. As a dragon he held no qualms with just eating anything raw, but he found the palet of this form needed flavoring to please him, so he adapted. "I hope you enjoy it."
It was a calming atmosphere around them and the fish were just as calm as last night. The copper colored koi still stood in the bright sun. The difference was the golden casting to the white koi catching the sun's rays.

Anna took a few moments to eat before speaking once more. Everything she had, the seasoned chicken, her small salad, even little eggrolls, suited her tastes fantastically. The scenery only enhanced the beauty of the meal, though Anna couldn't miss how the sunlight caught in Pyralis' eyes. They shone like rubies, though far more brilliantly.
"It's all lovely," she said. "I suppose Dragons have large appetites? Where on earth does it all go?" she joked, though Anna really did want to know how Dragons 'worked,' in a sense. Between his constant high body heat and voracious appetite, Anna wasn't sure how he managed.

There she went making him laugh again. Yes, he could really get used to having this beautiful, charming woman by his side. "You, know, I'm not really sure." He grinned and winked. "I think it has something to do with the body using up most of what I take in at a constant rate." Pyralis knew it had started as a joke, but hey, why not explain? "I'm sure you already know at least a bit about shapeshifting. Even though I take on this appearance, I'm still a dragon underneath the spell. Things like appetite and body temperature are only slightly altered."
Anna knew he was a dragon...but could she really love him? Yes, they were in simple human terms "soul-mates", but still...This desparing thought lingered for several moments, but he tried to just shoo it away. Perhaps soon they would visit the Other Realms and he could show her. Let her still love me...
Interupting his thoughts, a flash of color caught his eye. What was that? Automatically his manner and posture changed to protective.

"That's truly fascinating..." she said, her voice trailing off as she stared at him for a moment. What did he look like, she wondered, as a dragon? Was he fierce? Would he hurt her? No, of course he wouldn't. Anna chided herself for even letting the notion cross her mind. Pyralis cared for her, it was quite clear, and no transformation of body could change the heart as well.
"I'm afraid I'm just an elf--" But something caught her eye as well, and soon both of them were looking in the same direction. Pyralis became a bit tense, causing Anna to wonder if she should be worried as well. "Did you...?"
