"Uh..." Fern was amused and terribly confused, but she bumped her head against his as he laughed. When he seemed to calm down a bit, she just had to ask what it was all about.
"Gavin, what on earth was that? You were as giddy as a small fae." But she was smiling, too.

(and this is where I hijack a character for the sake of freeing mine)

Gavin fully recovered from his odd laughter.
"Must have been from all that sugar," he said, releasing Fern a bit from his hug. There was still a smile on his face, though, as he looked down into her wide, dark eyes and pinkish face.

"Well... I'm alright now..." Although he was very handsome and kind, Fern was still wary of him in a small way. It was the typical distrust of a stranger, though she didn't make it come across that way. "I can stand up now, Gavin," she said, hinting strongly that he should set her right.

With a bit of a notable snap, Gavin realized what she meant. "O-of course," he said, placing her on the bench beside him. The tips of his elven ears were turning as pink as Fern's cheeks. It gave him an endearing color, so much so that it made Fern become giggly.

"It's been a lovely time, Gavin, but I'm afraid I still have unpacking to do. I'll see you soon though?" Standing, Fern readied herself to become small to fly off. But, before she did so, she gave Gavin a friendly peck on the cheek.
