Laughing like a maniac, Mai made her way back to her room.
"Ahh. I love fooling my parents." Mai said with a grin, jumping for joy.
But then the haunting image of her father revirberated in her head.
You better train today at some point, then, Mai. Or else.
This caused the happy mood to jump right out of Mai's being, and to be replaced with a shiver throughout her body.
Hmm. I wonder what Jebei is doing today..? Maybe I'll pay a visit. Mai thought quietly, as she entered her room once more. She changed from her sweats into her normal clothing.
Heading outside, through the window, Mai landed gracefully on the ground, and streched. She knew her way to the Hokage's mansion perfectly, as did any villager. But Mai was in a funny mood, and decided to wander around for a bit.

About an hour or so later, Mai declared her wandering around enough, and started to head to the Hokage's tower.
Father did tell me to train.... Mai thought guiltily to herself, then instantly brightened up, much to the joy of some guys nearby. They whistled, and Mai looked over at them very slowly.
After a few minutes, Mai was running at top speed to Jubei's house. Those guys, well, were hurting all over.
Maybe I did inherit something from my mother, after all. Mai thought happily to herself, laughing.
She got the the tower, and was let in by the shinobi guarding the gates. They knew her pretty well now, and not just because of her skills.

Kira sat up in a tree. the one training with her father right now was a shadow clone. she smirked and stood up. she jumped higher into the tree. what to do now...hm... she thought, as she watched her shadow clone dodge a kunai. maybe i should go visit my cousin! that's what I'll do! she jumped from tree to tree, heading to the Hokage mansion.
Kira reached the mansion right after Mai did, so she decided she'd visit after getting something for breakfast. she turned and headed to the ramen shop, hoping that her father wouldn't realize that what he was training wasn't her.

The quiet breakfast was interrupted by a shinobi guard and a young girl. Naruto and Jubei smiled brightly at her, while Hinata provided a shy nod of acknowledgement. Naruto stood and raised his hand at the guard, speaking in a serious tone.
"It's fine, Yuichi. You may go."
The shinobi bowed and left without a sound. As soon as the guard had left, Naruto ressumed his child-like personality.
"Hey there, Mai. You want some breakfast? Hinata sure makes a lot and it's all so tasty."
The table was indeed displaying a massive spread of assorted breakfast foods. The various smells filled the room with a dilectable scent that seemed to sooth the soul. Hinata smiled weakly and nodded, signaling Mai that was fine with her to have breakfast with them. Jubei looked over at Mai with a slightly concerned look upon his face.
"We've got a lot to talk about, so you showing up here is pretty lucky. It's about our upcoming mission to fight the Akatsuki."

Naruto sat back down in his chair and shrugged.
"Suit yourself. That just means more for us!"
He then proceeded to devour a plate of rice balls. Afterwards, he wiped his mouth off with his sleeve and looked back at Mai.
"Sasuke's always been like that. It's a wonder he even came back to the village. Practically everyone wanted him dead."
Naruto's cheerful smile dimmed after that statement. It was sad, but true. Jubei decided it was his time to step in. Sasuke was still a tough subject for his father.
"So far, we know that the two of us and my cousin Kira will be going against the Akatsuki. I've been training every single day with mom and dad and Kira should be doing the same, considering who her parents are. I thought you would be more interested in training, but I'm not too surprised. Sasuke and Sakura aren't the most exciting people in the world."

"thanks! it was awesome!" Kira said, leaving Ichiruki ramen. she looked back at the Hokage mansion and started to walk there. with any luck, her father would still be training the shadow clone. once she reached the mansion she waved at the guards. they looked at Kira and nodded. one of them led her into the mansion.

Naruto laughed when Mai had mentioned Sakura. He smiled and decided to give her some advice.
"If you really want to learn medical ninjutsu, you should go see Grandma Tsunade. She taught your mom everything she knows and she's one of the legendary Sannin. She'll make it a lot of fun."
Jubei nodded in agreement.
"Tsunade really is the best out there as far as medical ninjutsu. And I hope you're right. Three against so many would be suicide. On the bright side, if we did manage to defeat them, we'd become legends!"

Kira knocked quietly on the wall by the kitchen. she peaked around the doorway and waved a little.
"hi" she said "thought i'd visit" she smiled as she looked at them, and then the guard behind her. "how's everyone?"

Hinata got up from her chair, approached Kira quickly, and gave her a hug.
"It's so nice to see you, Kira. I hope Neji isn't... well... being too hard on you. I know how he gets sometimes."
Naruto nodded at Mai and then looked over at Kira with a smile and a wave. Jubei waved, as well.
"Ditching training again, Kira?"

"well, i hate training any more, cause it is Byakugan this, and Byakugan that, till i could kill my dad!" Kira said. "and no, Hinata-sama, he isn't being too hard on me. he is just training the same way he has been since i stuck my mom in the leg with kunais." she smiled nervously and added "i've never had my mom's aim."

Naruto shook his head and sighed.
"Your fathers have always been like that. Just remember, it could always be worse."
Hinata nodded in agreement before she returned to her chair.
"Kira, if you would, please have a seat with us."
Jubei looked over at Kira and smirked.
"Byakugan training is pretty fun. Mom trains me very well and I've gotten good with Gentle Fist. I still prefer Strong Fist. but I plan to combine the two styles together. The Akatsuki won't know what hit 'em!"
