She beamed proudly at his reaction when he realized that she was now in the little knowledgeable circle when it came to the rain and the ever necessary forces of nature. It never hurt to be appreciative, it was probably better in the long run to be the type to notice these things, to think outside of just yourself. Arrogance might make you think you were happy, but some humility and consideration made you more friends. "I won't forget," she promised. While she thought she was done before, the conversation had made her excited about the rain again, made her eager enough to step out of the shelter of the tree. And she was just in time to be hit on the nose with a big raindrop.
"Ee!" she jumped back to beneath the tree, and then she started to laugh.

He could hear the rain starting up again as it hit the leaves above their head. He had been right. He grinned, partially at the thought of being right and partially at her laughing, it was good that the rains hadn't left completely for the day.
"The rivers are going to swell ... means more food." he could use some more food too. It had been a few days since he'd last eaten anything. "I think the crocodiles like it too much with the rivers swell, they get fat."
