"And so what if I am?" She retorted with a sneer, there was actually a few people she could think of off the top of her head that she really wouldn't like to ever have to see again. However she did try to find good qualities in people.

"Most people are a lot more interesting than you'd think. You just can't go around like some little wussy that thinks everyone who is different should be hated. I hate people like that, those people are cowards and can't even look past there own nose." She said with distaste as the sent the ball back Ter's way with her tail.

"Its people like you I hate most, your dumb in thinking that everyone out there deserves your affection. There are a lot of bad people out there, all of which deserve my fist in their face." He spat out, letting the ball bounce a couple times so he could catch it and fling it back her way with all his might.

Orpheus gave a groan, here he'd thought they were starting to get along enough to get through the game without killing each other... He looked at the pair and found himself wondering how he could tell if they were tiring. They were both scaling and he didn't think that sweat would show up on scales would it?

He'd just have to watch closely and be ready to break any fights up that might occur...

"I don't think everyone deserves my affection but I think everyone deserves a shot. People like you are so self absorbed that you automatically slap a label on everyone you meet and dismiss them as lesser than you!!" She wailed on the ball with her tail as her temper began to rise. This boy was the exact type she was talking about, never able to look past his own front porch.

Ter's hoof flared up again, "Geez, you sound just like that jackass magic teacher, he thought pretty little of me too. Maybe I have reason for the way I treat people." He snapped, barring his fangs at her.

He let the ball bounce again so he could wrap his tail around it, squeezing it tightly. He then threw it her way, aiming lower this time. Stupid girl... everyone deserved a shot alright, to the midsection maybe.

"Oh? And I suppose you know my life story huh?" She said offended by the fact that just because something bad happened to you that gives you the right to think so poorly of others.

She wasn't able to deflect the ball but her eyes grew to about the size of dinner plates when she saw the ball hurtling towards he stomach. She turned as fast as she could so that the ball would hit her in the back instead. She crouched down for a moment breathing chokingly for a moment at the close call.

She didn't take long to get back up though and punt the ball straight at Ter.

"Can't say that I care about story time." He said honestly, "Why should I care about someone I just met? Your being cute can't be my only reason for..." He trailed off in his insult when she suddenly did a duck and cover maneuver and took the ball to the back instead of the front, "Holy shi... what are doing!"

He was about to move forward to check on her when she sounded a bit like she was choking... then he was back to dodging when the ball was flying back at him again, "Sheesh... you recovered fast." He muttered, barely able to catch the ball with the end of his coils. He wrapped his tail around it and found himself hesitating a moment. Why should be hesitate? Just because she had flinched away from the ball like that...

"You want to keep going? Or are you done?" He asked of her, sounding grudgingly concerned.

"I'm not gonna give up." Damaris said with a scowl. It seemed his flattery didn't do much for her. She didn't look happy. Between the close call with the ball hitting her in the stomach and the snakes obvious one track minded-ness, her temper was starting to flare.

"Maybe you should try to walk a day in a strangers shoes, you might learn something." She said glowering not wanting his sympathy. She just wanted to show this kid, and protect her midsection.

Ter gave a snort, "It isn't gonna happen. I care for my own, those close to me. Passed that I couldn't care less." He said, trying to sound as if he didn't care about anyone of anything passed those he called 'his own' but none the less he found himself feeling worried for this girl... geez.

What was it about him and D-Corp girls? They were his weak spot he figured, to cute for their own good he supposed.

He watched her a moment more before sending the ball flying back her way. He had no idea what went wrong that last throw but given she wanted to continue he wasn't going to be the one to back down.

"And that's how we got to the way the world is today..." She mumbled a little bit of morbidity in her voice. Though that was quick to snap away as she returned the ball.

She stayed pretty quiet while they continued on. She was scared because she realized she couldn't be too reckless...she wasn't just defending herself anymore. And she also had some unsolved issues that tended to make her reflect a bit absent-mindedly while they kept playing.

Ter missed what she said but didn't try to get her to repeat it, instead he continued on with the game, watching the girl closely. Strange... she got all quiet he thought to himself wanting to taunt her and get her back to yelling at him again. Why did he have that same feeling he got when he was mean to Ligeia? That feeling like he'd just kicked a puppy...

Orpheus watched as they played, the game going from friendly, to angry, to yelling, and to quiet. The two of them were definitely a volatile combination now weren't they? At least they hadn't tried to kill each other like he'd had happen in one of his classes...

"Keep it up!" He called to them, wanting them to play a while longer. He figured a half an hour would be a good time to have them stop and determine things from there. They seemed to be holding up pretty well despite the game and the arguments.

Damaris was able to hold up pretty well although now her spunkiness rather destroyed she just seemed to do as she was instructed. Not really in the mood for any more banter. That little episode only managed to remind her of her condition. She wasn't very thrilled about it to say the least. She couldn't help but brood on the subject.

The snake continued to play the game but his enthusiasm was waning, his father called out for them to keep up the game but seriously the fun ended when the argument did. Fighting was his favorite thing to do, be it a actual full on fist fight with someone or an argument or a little of both. He was never happier then when he was getting into it with someone. No doubt why he and Z got along so well was they both had that frame of mind.

"Alright... and time!" Orpheus called out to them pair when the game started to slow down, taking it as the pair either getting tired or at least tired of the game.

Ter moved to the side, dodging out of the way of the ball and let it bounce along and stop as it wanted to, "Good, was getting bored." He muttered, slithering over to his father.

The man looked at his son and then to Damaris, "Alright, come on over and tell me how your feeling. We need to get a reading on how the sun may have affected you." He told her, digging into a small pack he had slung over his shoulder and got out two bottles of water. One went to Ter and the other was held out to the lizard girl.

"Thanks..." Damaris said as she took the water. Her entire demeanor seemed to have changed once the ball had almost nailed her in the stomach. She was a lot more quiet and didn't seem to want to make any eye contact. She had a lot to cope with and it was still a tough thing for the girl to do.

"I don't really feel any different then if I were playing any other game..." Damaris said with a shrug. She had often played outside at the park or around D-Corp with some other kids. She was a little short on breath but the heat didn't seem to be particularly bothering her.

"Excellent." He said, getting his pen out and set to scrawling down notes on his clip board, "So the sun isn't of any bother to you at all then, your lizard genes helped out a lot in that way."

He scribbled down a few more notes, mentioning the slight shortness of breath but also that they'd played an extended and very physical game before looking at the pair of reptiles, "Your free to go now, I thank you both for doing so well in the class and not escalating it passed words. I've had one fight in a class where it ended with blood so. It was much appreciated."

Ter tilted his head, wow... blood, huh? He'd not heard about that class. He might have to ask about it later. As for now, "It was a good game girl, lets play again sometime." He said to Damaris then turned to his partner, "Come on Baroness, lets go inside and laze in front of the TV."

The wyvern gave a happy sound at that, given where the sun was she would guess that there were cartoons on! She was all for the watching of those, they were interesting.

"Hmm..." Was all Damaris really had to say. She had a dazed look and just didn't seem all together.

"Oh...alright, thanks." Damaris said to Mr. Solon before she turned to Ter. She wasn't quite sure exactly what to say to him, "...Just once, take a walk in some one elses shoes." She said in a very solemn tone that just seemed unlike her.

She headed off towards the other side of the D-Corp building clutching her stomach gently where she would get on the side walk that led to home. Something definitely seemed wrong, though just what, was anyones guess.
