She started laughing more at his words. Slowly she stoed so she could speak. "I haven't actually had a real fight yet. I wonder if I made the right decision joining a court guard squad so soon? I should train more shouldn't I? What if I'm completely use less out there?" Now her excitement was mixed with anxiety and her stomach felt like butterflies.

Zack smiled at Matsuya, and spoke kindly. "No, I'm sure you'll be fine... You have fought in the academy haven't you? That should be enough to help you fight well here..." He said then looked over to Thanatos. "Um... why are you here? You're stationed far from here aren't you? Why aren't you watching your post?" He asked wondering why he was neglecting his duties.

Thanatos grinned. "They haven't reached us yet, is the first reason, and second reason, my post is the last place for them to reach. You guys will be some of the first to get attacked." Thanatos watched the door then looked solemn. "Espada will come through here. Some may stay back to eliminate you, don't die out here Zack." Thanatos turned and waved as he made to leave.

Matsuya turned to look at the shinigami who had just enterned. "I am Squad.3, 10th seat, Matsuya. How are you?" She was a bit nervous talking to him. She smiled trying to calm down.

"Whatever you say Than..." Zack smiled then looked back at the door. "And Thanatos... This door won't have anything coming out of it... It's a one way portal... At least know what you're talking about..." He said teasingly, and waved at him. "You stay safe too man!"

Thanatos stopped leaving and turned to look at her, and with a bow said. "Im not good. A war is happening today, this is not time for smiles. Smiles are for when we win." Thanatos grinned as he said this and threw his dagger from his time in squad four at the door. It made a twang sound as it hit the door. "Matsuya. Use that dagger if needed, if you lose your sword, or need a quick attack, you will have it. If you survive, I would like it back." Thanatos chuckled and looked at Zack. "Well then, if this isn't the two way portal, Im in the wrong place." Thanatos turned and left.

Matsuya watched and listened to their conversation with interest. Zack and Thonatos were so casual about this war. Why was she the only one anxious? She dismissed her thoughts and came back to reality.

Matsuya was startled by the sound of the thrown dagger, but, picked it up. "I'm sorry if I offended you..." Her voice trailed off. She thanked him for the dagger and put it away. "I'll be sure to return it to you."

Zack smiled and waved to Thanatos. "Well, It's not a two way door... We're just waiting until we're told the exact location of an attack in squad six to teleport there..." He grinned wide and looked over to Matsuya.

Thanatos looked back, "Go on, take the knife Matsuya." Thanatos chuckled as he sprinted towards the 46 chambers.

Matsuya turned to Zack. "He seems nice enough." She smiled and held up the knife,"he even gave me this. I just hope I make good use of it."

Zack smiled to her before he replied. "He is a nice guy, and a great fighter..." He said looking at the dagger, and thinking of the battle soon to come. "I hope she doesn't need to use it..." He thought to himself as he looked at it. "Yeah... I bet you'll do great..." He grinned still hiding his worry.

Matsuya put the dagger away. "You sound so depressed. Is something wrong?" She asked sensing something was on his mind. She had this sense and could always tell when something was wrong with someone. Even though she likes helping people, she sometimes wonders if she is hindering the person instead of helping them. she dismissed this worry and turned to Zack with a look of concern on her face.

Zack heard her voice and snapped back from a slight worried daze. "Huh?! Oh... Well, I was just worried about you... I don't want to see you get hurt too badly on your first mission..." He smiled trying to calm himself a little.

"Okay. I won't get hurt...badly....I hope.." Her voice trailed off. To hide her own worry, she added a small laugh at the end and smiled.Her intention was to make it sound like a big joke. She tried to pass herself off as being calm. She hoped Zack fell for her little act there. Nowing him he most likely saw through it.
