If I was the owner of this eggu, I would name him Kinnara, which means Celestial Musician in Sanskrit. Fitting, I thought, of a blind kitsu who speaks for his sister.

Around his sisters, Kinnara is what you expect of a brother, protective, loving and kind. Kinnara doesn’t mind talking for his sister, nor depending on his other sister to make his way about. He accepts that it is a reliant relationship and sees it as an opportunity to develop strong sibling bonds, as he loves them a lot, them being his only family.

He speaks in lilting tones and his voice is melodious and pleasing to the ear. He can be often caught humming a pleasant tune, an upbeat one in the day, and a slow soothing one at night. His personality changes according to the shifting colors in the sky. When the sun lights up the sky, he is playful, cheerful and outgoing and loves to have a friendly match of wrestling with his sisters. He is more boisterous in hot afternoons. As the sun sets, he is more introverted, and does not talk as much, preferring an idyllic time alone to rest. When the moon is in the sky, he is peaceful and relaxed, often wearing a calm smile on his face.

Kinnara does not show any annoyance towards his disability and accepts it, trying to adapt to his world of darkness. He will be quite clumsy as a kit but as he grows, he will be more graceful and not as accident prone. Although blind, Kinnara will learn how to make his way around alone as he is connected with the skies, and can sense the constellations, whether it is day or night. He uses the stars as guidance and knows their locations to a deadly accuracy.

Around others, Kinnara is a mysterious individual that does not seem to be either good, or bad. He is a surprisingly neutral party and speaks for both sides.

Name and Meaning: Ranginui, after the Maori sky god. It translates to Great Sky. This god cares deeply for his family, often expressing his love in a downpour of tears... rain for the earth.

Why the namesake: Ranginui is just as a brother should be around his sisters, Strong, take-charge, protective, and especially caring and nurturing. Even though he lacks the ability to see, that does not stop him from going to all lengths to care for his sisters. If there is any problem at all for either of them, Rangi is first there to console them. He has no problem taking a stand to the forces that oppose them, as long as Solar and Lunar are there to drive his compassion.

Ranginui is also extremely emotional. He is easily swayed by the weather and sounds he hears do to his other heightened senses. The celestial kitsusagi is not afraid to have a good cry. He will do so with or without the company of his siblings. He knows all too well that Lunar and Solar do not view him as weak for breaking-down and crying, they care too much about him to make that judgment. And just as he would for them, he knows that when he is feeling down they will be there to console and help him.

Blindness leads to instability: Do to this major complication in life, Ranginui is extremely unstable. He is often daydreaming and brooding about his inability to see. The kitsu often is brought to hysterics and will rage; aggressively lashing out to the world around him, blaming it solely for is disability. He never is aggressive around his sisters, but they both know very well the tendencies their brother has when his alone.

After attacking the world, Rangi's next maneuver is to curl up, all vulnerable and alone, and cry. This mixture of emotions tends to bring the boy back to his senses and has him feeling much better. Lashing and crying tends to rejuvenate his spirits.

Why with the crying: When Rangi cries, it is as if those two orbs on his face are not completely useless. He is able to show his emotions, this is all to clear when he cries, and they are even capable of producing tears. It helps the kitsusagi cope with the lack of sight; it helps Ranginui realize that his eyes are not going to complete waste. He is able to wear his emotions in his eyes even though he is incapable of seeing the world with them. So they are not entirely useless after all?

In a nutshell: Rangi is strong and protective, as well as quite reliant on Lunar and Solar's aid. But, though he is a male, the brother, and protector, this does not suppress the boy’s emotions. Ranginui is very open with both sisters and never puts on a front, unless of course he is suppressing his need to lash-out, he would never put his sisters in harm's way with his volatile aggression.

Thus, alone and away from his siblings’ eyes, Rangi is completely unstable and lashes-out blaming the world for his blindness. This does not go unbeknownst to his sisters, however. The two are fully aware of their brother's aggression and manic tendencies as the aftermath is all too visible to their working eyes.

My name for this star-themed kit would be "Vesperis" ('the evening star' or 'the west' in Latin). I find him to be something of an intermediary between his two sisters. He is not as headstrong and rough as tomboy Solar, and also lacks the certain kind of finesse and grace that marks Lunar. Instead, he is a mix of both; confidence and power tempered with a polished, tactful attitude. In some way, his personality is reflective of how the celestial body possesses both Suns and Moons.

As such, I feel that Vesperis would be obligated (out of love, loyalty, and a plethora of other reasons) to stay near his siblings. He knows that they must rely on one another, and not just in the ways of seeing, hearing, and speaking. As the only male of the trio, he takes it upon himself to be responsible for his sisters, and does a careful job in acting out the "protective big brother" role (although it is unknown to him who is actually the eldest). Perhaps he is not always the leader, but it is his job to be there, to care for, Lunar and Solar. Subconsciously, he has a driving need for them to be near; without their presences, he would be empty, lost, and truly blinded to everything in the world.

I would name him "Arcelius" which is a varation on Arcelio. Which means 'Alter of Heaven' in Spanish and Latin. As it would fit his personality as he is there to suport his two sisters in anything they do.

Quite, laid back, loves to have fun with his sisters, and talkative. But is shy, reclusive and soft spoken with anyone besides his sisters because of his blindness. As he doesn’t know what others will have to say about it and imagines the worst of what could happen. So he often doesn’t know what to say or do around others, but will speak up when Solar need to say anything to others. Arcelius loves his sisters very much and will do anything for them all ways thinking of them first and then himself second and has the same way of thinking for anyone else he calls his friends.

Arcelius will rely on his sisters for awhile until he somewhat gets over his shyness with others and gets a few friends and grow independent, but will be close by if they need him. Arcelius sees his disability as a blessing and a curse. He loves the closeness that he shares with his sisters and there very unique way of seeing the world. Seeing the world through his other senses is an adventure and when something he just can’t figure out he will go to Lunar to see it and having adventures with them as well. His blessing is that he is very close with his sisters and would have it no other way. When Arcelius isn’t with his sisters he can be found thinking about his faults and looking towards the sky as he lets his thoughts wander like a flying birds. He wishes that he wasn’t so shy towards others and a little part of him wishes that he could see the world with his own eyes and to see his sisters with them as well. Arcelius hasn’t confined his worries to Lunar or Solar and when asked if there is something wrong he will say it’s nothing wrong, just deep in thought. Arcelius is only sad when by himself as he doesn’t want to worry others about his problems and that is what he views his curse.

If awarded the Celestial male, I would name him Albedo, which is a term in the field of astronomy that describes the reflectivity of objects in space based on incident light. It is derived from a Latin root meaning "white."

The skeleton of a personality I've worked on for this boy follows as thus: He would be a rather unstable character around others, save for his siblings who manage to balance him somewhat with their twin domains. Otherwise, he can be loud and churlish around company, very opinionated and unafraid to interject his own feelings into whatever is being said. His voice is a leveling force, a way of recognizing what others may overlook with functioning vision. Even so, he loves description and detail very much, and may become agitated if his sight-gifted sister fails to translate his surroundings to his specified liking. Alby's disability is something that he tries to take in stride, but he often becomes embittered about it, certain that it is the most debilitating of the three ineptitudes shared by his tight-knit family. He is capable of being sweet-tempered and steady, but for the most part, his character is that of a nova burst, always spewing something and perhaps even tip-toeing the boundaries of violence if necessary.

Heightened senses, if we're allowed to consider more than one, could be audition (hearing) and gustation (taste). The first one is pretty self-explanatory, seeing as many individuals that suffer blindness compensate for it with an amazing ability to detect their environment through their ears. The taste phenomenon would be more for fun, and Alby could potentially learn a great deal about the setting he is in by sampling a breeze, licking the ground, a wall, or another kitsu, and basically doing a multitude of other curious things to better take in what is happening around him. Because he is rarely shy, the more physical approach would suit him well, and he would try to embarrass anyone who spoke against the technique rather than feeling humiliated himself.

If I was given the Celestial male, I would name him Startrail. Bit of an obvious name, but it's nice sounding.

He believes that he's the strongest of the three, since he's the one that can communicate with the outside world the best. Therefore, he tries not to rely on his sisters very much. He will take unnecessary risks to prove that he doesn't need their help, and if he gets hurt, he won't admit it. It takes a lot to get through his thick head. He might not even listen to his siblings sometimes.

Acting this way towards his sister, Startrail will also be stubborn with other kitsus. He hates it when they pity him or try to take advantage because he's blind. Unfortunately, he's a lot less kinder to them than his sisters. He's more hot-headed and prone to shouting, maybe even violence if pushed enough. And that fact that he sometimes refuses to listen to rational words from his sisters won't help. It's hard for him to back down from a challenge or refuse a fight.

So what is Startrail like when he's not having a fit? He's very upbeat and bubbly, and can't sit still for long periods of time. He just has to keep moving, or he'll explode. (So he says.) He also likes to joke around a lot, and might play a small prank or two. He likes to ramble on about the slightest things as well.

I guess that the Celestial kitsu in a nutshell.

For the Celestial male, I would name him Alnilam after one of the three stars in Orion's belt.

He is a calm, tranquil sort usually, eloquent in his choice fo words often when speak to others. It is disconcerting to him one of his sisters cannot hear him, but he does well despite this fact, relying on Solar to lsiten to him ramble on sometimes. His blindness leads him to judge things based on sound and smell, so many of his favorite thigns tend to be birds and flowers - and soemtimes foods. (Taste is a poor judge of character, to say the least!) He prefers any time when he can enjoy the subtle sounds of the world around him - nighttime for the crickets and soft winds, and daytime for the songs of birds, sound of rain, or other things. He cannot see the beloved things he has come from - the stars - and even discrptions sometimes fail him, unless the words used sound beautiful. He cna be a bit fickle at times in this regard because he has never known what something looks like, and can only go based on the sounds of the words. Things he can put something he knows to - like tastes or sounds, make him associate things differently - if one were to describe something as red, and as the color fo blood, he would think of the taste and smell of blood to try and imagine it, rather then 'seeing' a color he doesn't know - it would make him seem odd, but one would hope his siblings at least wuold understand. He relies on Solar to be the strength since she can see and lead them - but when it comes to speaking, he will not hesitate to speak up on their behalf, even if he doesn't know exactly what it is he's speaking to. He cares for his sisters dearly, although prefers solar a bit more because she can hear him talk, but relies keenly on Lunar to not lead them astray, either!

Solar's Prompt
~ this seemed like a good idea at the time~ the young kit thought mostly to herself as she held onto the limb. The tomboy in her demanded every tree be climbed, every rock overturned and every bug explored and watched. Thats exactly what she had been doing. The colorful caterpillar had been inching up the leaning tree when she had followed it. Followed it a little far it seemed. Now the young kit was standing on a creaking branch, leaning over a steep ledge. She glanced down wondering if she did fall if shed manage to survive. She knew she couldnt fly should the branch break. Naturally as soon as she thought that the wind blew. the branch creaking angrily with the kits added weight. She tried to stay balanced but then it happened. A loud snap and cracking noise as the wood splintered. With a yelp in her mind she scrambled to hold on. Paniced ~ HELP ME!!!!~ she screamed out in her mind.

Your job? What does brother do and how does he do it? :3 good luck. I give permission to rp solar as well!

Lunar's prompt will be up soon =3

Lunar's Prompt
In the dark of the night, you are on the roof 'gazing' at the heavens when suddenly you hear a whimpering and shuffling from below you in the gardens. Even without your eyesight, you can quickly tell that it is your youngest sibling, Lunar, and you call out to her telepathically to see what is wrong. Within minutes, she has sobbed out the entire story - someone has stolen (or so she swears!) one of her precious baubles while she was asleep - nevermind that all of her baubles and gems are equally precious to her.

How do react? Do you help her to find her 'precious' bauble? Or do you simply go back to 'gazing' at the stars?

Full permission to rp lunar as needed XD

Response to Solar's Prompt

Devarsi rested on a mound of grass, letting the late morning sun soak through his fur. The warmth that radiated down through his skin, combined with the soft caress of the flower-scented wind, delighted him. His eyes gave him a world of darkness, but they also gave him a greater appreciation for the things he could perceive, and since his sisters had gone off on their own to explore, he was taking the chance to revel in the sensations and sounds of the summer day.

The wind carried the scents of various plants and animals to him, and he named the ones he knew within his mind, categorizing those he didn't according to what they seemed similar to. Then he made a game of mapping out where everything seemed to be, by where their sounds were coming from -- the calls of birds, the swishing of grasses, the creaking of tree limbs and the rustling of their leaves. It was all quite interesting, and he made a note to have Lunar tell him what a particularly sweet fragrance was when she returned.

His reverie was broken as Solar's silent cry for help lanced through his mind, tensing his every muscle and gripping his heart with an urgent fear. She was in trouble! But where? ~I'm coming!~ he shot back to her mentally, tracing the thread of connection between them. It wasn't as strong as when they were side by side, but her distance wasn't too great, so it was still discernable. He was able to determine the general direction she was in by that bond, and lept to his feet. He was a streak of pale fur among the grasses as he raced towards his sister, familiar enough with the immediate area to risk running. He clenched his teeth; his dear Solar was in danger, he could risk a minor stumble from a gopher hole.

His heart quaked as he drew nearer, picking up on her distress as their connection strengthened. The grass here was getting lower, and he could smell the berry bushes now. The edge of the little strip of forest was just ahead, and he slowed, feeling out for their telepathic connection, and adjusting his direction. The sun's warmth abruptly left his back, the sound of the tree leaves rustling overhead replacing that of the wind alone. He judged he was a few feet or so inside the forest's canopy, and tipped his nose up into the air, trying to pinpoint Solar's position more accurately by her scent.

He bit down on the urge to call out to her and ask her postion, knowing it would be futile and cover up any sounds that might help him find her. Her scent was growing stronger, and he padded forward, stepping high to clear any potential roots that might be looming behind the darkness of his eyes. If memory served him correctly, there should be a cliff up ahead. He shook himself, a grip tightening around his heart. That was where he felt Solar!

~De-viii!~ Her mental voice entered his mind again, a frightened squeak compared to her usual confident tone. The strength of their connection shot up, indicating that she was very close, and had spotted him. Her panicked breathing came to her ears, along with the subtle creaking of a tree limb almost exactly overhead.

"I'm here, Solar... is it this one?" He paused beneath the tree she was in, feeling the dirt looser under his paws than it should have been. That made him nervous; was the tree unstable? His nose swung towards Solar, wishing he had sight of his own. Lunar was too far off to go to for help. He cursed mildly to himself that they shouldn't have split up, but the day had seemed so fine and safe, and the girls had been so eager to strike out on their own.

~Yes, yes, and it's FALLING!~ The wind took that moment to tease the weakened branch again, sending an unnerving creak to Devarsi's ears along with his sister's choked gasp of fear. ~And there's no grouuuund!~ He shifted his wings nervously, the ledge he'd been worried about was, indeed, where he remembered it to be. As pretty as his sisters claimed his wings were, they were still rather useless for getting him off of the ground, let alone making a heroic dash to snatch Solar to safety should the branch give way.

No time to go for help, he paced around the base of the tree, setting each paw down cautiously. He did this not just to be sure that his own purchase was firm, but his paw pads told him how dense the ground was around the base. It was somewhat firm towards the ledge, but he could feel that that wouldn't last, as it felt like it would be ready to shift over the side with the next strong gust of wind. The dirt on the other side was badly tossed up, broken by the roots as they rose into the air and sent the tree leaning. Coming back to the ledge-side once more, he slowly, gently leaned towards the base of the tree. His fur snagged on its bark, and his side told him the angle it was leaning at. A frown crossed his features as he tried to think, his sister's frantic thoughts and panic streaming into his mind and tangling up his heart. ~Just stay calm, love, I'll figure this out... stay where you are, and hold on tight!~

Solar nodded out of habit, then remembered he couldn't see, and sent an affirmative to him telepatically. Her claws digging into the bark, she did her best not to look down. The drop made her stomach spin, but the view of the cracks along the branch weren't a much better sight, not at all! She looked down, watching as Devarsi pushed tentatively against the tree trunk. She let out a silent cry as it sent the branch to trembling slighty, and gripped it with all her might. His ears swiveled down to his head in response to her apprehension, but lifted again to be on the alert for the slightest sound. His muscles were tense, his telepathic connection to her revealing that he, too, was scared, but he'd composed his mind and it eased her fears just enough for her to regain some calm.

"Okay, I'm going to try and knock this back into the forest. Please, please hold on tight, and if your branch starts to break off, dive this way as hard as you can, and land on me!"

The idea of having the tree shake even more violently than before didn't appeal to her at all. ~But what about you, you'll be--~

"I'll be fine, I'm all fluffy and cuddly, remember? It will be a softer landing for you." His voice held a great deal of urgency, with a hint of the wryness for how they sometimes teased him about how soft he kept his fur. He couldn't see it, but he could feel it, and took great pride in its condition. Apparently, that made him a little "floofy" some days, and his sighted sisters got no end of amusement from gently teasing their fluffy-tailed brother. Bracing himself and swallowing down his fear, he threw his weight into the tree trunk.

It rocked and creaked, sending leaves falling over the cliff edge with a gentle rustle that was covered by the sound of Solar's panicked breathing as she clung with all her might to the shaking branch. It cracked ominously, dropping her lower towards the fall below. Her mental scream had her brother wincing, but he launched himself against the tree again. This time, it budged farther, tilting away from the cliff edge. Thankfully, it wasn't a very old tree, and its trunk wasn't too large. His heart knotted up and tried to choke his breathing, as Solar's fear entwined with his own. Panic threatened to settle into his chest, making his limbs useless, but he forced himself past it and hit the tree again, crying out as his already-bruised side and right wing took the impact.

The trunk gave way, creaking as it tipped away from him, unsettling his footing as the dirt he stood upon slipped away from the rising roots, towards the edge of the cliff. He scrambled back to firmer ground, ears frantically listening for the branch Solar was on. It responded with a crack, then a ripping sound as it began breaking free from the tree. "JUMP!" he hollered to his sister, turning his body so that it would provide the most surface possible for her landing.

Solar complied, using fear to propel her from her falling branch and through the air. She spread her small wings, hoping they would make her landing more gentle, more for Devarsi's sake than her own. The collision was a hard one though, and sent him sprawling back away from the cliff's edge. Their limbs and wings tangled together, both of them giving off slight moans, but Solar was intact as she stepped free of the fur bundle, licking her brother's face frantically. He was panting, finally releasing some of the fear that had tried to render him useless, and he tucked his neck and uninjured left wing over Solar, nuzzling her. Despite the pounding of his heart and the pain of his right wing and side, he'd never been more glad than at this moment.

Solar's prompt

Percival was sleeping and dreaming about great adventures when the telepathic scream pierced his dreams and woke him up. That made him a little grumpy so he wasn't quite sweet to his sister at first.

~What did you do now? I was dreaming of sky pirates!! Big meanie...~
~I'm going to die!!!~ screamed telepathically his sister again.
~Huh??~

The kit stood up and scretched himself as his sister told him how she got in her actual mess. Percival actually froze during his scretching when she said she was hanging above nothing.

~Looks like this is a mission for Super Percival! Ok, where are you?~ he asked before getting into super hero position, his favorite.
~In a tree.~
~Ok...where is that?~
~In the forest.~
~Sis, I need more than that. I'm blind, remember? And since you can't scream, I can't follow your voice so try to be a bit more specfic?~

He didn't get any answer except feeling that his sister cried more. He let out a big long sigh. What was wrong with her NOW? He just told her to be more specific. Tomboys... They act like boys but when critical time hit, they were girls again. How he wished to not be stuck with two girls.

His other sister was no where near him so he had to relay on his sense of scent to find her sister. He moved around, smelling the air until he got a scent of her then followed it as fast as he could. He stumbled over rocks and tree branches and got scratches for not moving carefully but never slow down.

~Percyyyyyyyy!! Help meeeeeee!~
~I'm coming! I'm coming! Your scent is getting stron---~ "OW!!" said the kit as he crashed his nose and face into a tree. "That hurt..." he whined as he rubbed his nose, his eyes full of tears.
~Percy! You're finally here! Hurrryyyyyyyyyyyy!! It's gonna break any moment!!~
"What? You're on the tree I just hit?"
~YES!~
"Ok! I'm coming!!!"

He started to climb the tree with his claws. He never did that before. Since he was blind, he didn't see the point into going in trees and see things from above. But the situation forced him to do it. He could hear her sniffled and used that sound to nagivate all the way up to her. He could smelled the tree branch's inner wood. He was still too young to know how badly broken the branch was just by the smell of it but he knew well enough he couldn't get on it to get his sister.

"Here! Catch this!" he told her, pushing his behind as far as he could before unrolling his tail toward her.
~I can't catch it!! AH!!!~

Percival heard the branch cracked more. It was only a matter of seconds now.

"Jump now or I'm gonna tell our sister how much of a crybaby you are!!"
~I'm no crybaby!!!!~
"Jump then!!~
~I can't!!!~
"Crybaby! Crybaby!!"
~You're going to regret those words!!!~

The little girl kit took a swing and bit the tail of his brother before the tree fell into the bottomless pit below them. Percival screamed in pain and with the extra weight, his claws couldn't support both of them. But Percival hang on the surface so tight that instead of failing him, his claws slide them all the way down the tree rapidly but both landed on the ground, safe.

Percival shook his tail away from his sister's mouth and started licking it, trying to not cry because of the pain. It wasn't actually hurting that bad, but little kits do tend to be dramatic about their wounds. But he didn't have much time since his sister jumped on him.

~Take it back, Percy! Take it back!~
"Ow!! Stop calling me Percy!"
~Don't change the subject!!~
"Fine. Stop calling me Percy and I'll take it back."
~You promise?~
"I promise.~
~Ok...~ The kit moved away from her brother and smiled to him. ~Thank you for rescuing me!!~
"Heh, it's ok. I take it back." he said as he went back to his licking but he heard his sister giggled. "What?"
~Percy!~
"Percival!"
~Percy!~
"Percival!"
~Percy!~
"ARGH!!!" The boy kit covered his ears but still could hear telepathically his sister. Why didn't he had a brother?

Lunar's prompt

"Which one was it?" Percival asked, a bit discouraged at his sister as he moved closer to her. He heard her sniffled loudly before answering telepathically: ~It was the blue stone you found on the beach and gave to me.~
"What? You're making a fuss for something like that? I'll find you another one." Percival never liked to use his telepathic link with his sisters when he was near them. He always prefered to speak than send his thoughts but Lunar often scowled him for doing that, considering it was not respectful of their mute sister.
~Nooooo!! It won't be the same!!~ she said with a quivering lip.
"Fine, fine. Looks like this is a job for super detective Percival!! Take me where you used to kept it."

With a nod, Lunar guided her brother to her room and light the room. It was full of objects, one even more stranger and unique than the other, or at least, Lunar thought so. But for Percival, it was a room filled with rocks, leaves, colored glass, semi-precious stones and many other things her sister was collecting and thought was cute. He never saw any interest in those things.

~It was here. On my night table.~

The boy kit walked closer. Now with Lunar near him, he was able to use their link to see. It was a rather odd experience for him at first but he was now used to it. He was seeing with her eyes but not as if he could see. More like, he was HER so he was seeing things from where she stood and where you looked. He saw the night table. It was full of various items all barely remaining into place. A small shake could have made the whole thing fall on the ground.

"Geez are you sure? This looks like a real mess."
~Yes I'm sure! It was between my princess crown and pot of dirt Solar gave me!~
"Hmmm... Interesting," said the kit, imitating the voice of Sherlock Holmes. "We have a real mystery on our hands. Did you look everywhere?"
~Yes!! Under the bed, under the night table... It was no where!! It's not fair!!~
"No!! Don't start to cry! You'll blurr my vision!"

But that comment only made his sister cry. Percival whispered "Oh doo doo" which was his way to curse. He tried to calm his sister.

"Ok, I'm sorry. Cry all you want. But...it'll be hard for me to look for the stone. Please, stop?"

He had more chance with this attempt but he didn't understand why it worked this time and not the time before. Oh well, the most important thing was the vision was clear again.

"Much better." He told his sister how to move to see the room. Even if was seeing things through her eyes, his perception of seeing was different from her. He thought he could, maybe, find something she missed.

Then he saw it.

"Wait! I think I've found it!"
~Where?! Where!?~ asked an excited Lunar, moving her vision everywhere.
"Wouah! Stop that! I'm going to be sick!"
~Oh sorry... Where?"

Percival grinned.

"Go next to your night table and look behind it."
~I already did that.~
"No. You didn't notice the small blue sparkle I saw that was between the night table and the wall."
