Cyn afforded a throaty chuckle as the mare took to his arachnid companion as easily as she had taken to him. Clearly, whatever mare stood before him could adapt quickly in any situation - the sign of a good upbringing if nothing else. However, it was the manner in which she conversed with his companion and made a reference to his size that entertained him the most. Ah yes, the general misconception that due to his size he couldn't move swiftly, inaccurate but he would sooner people assumed he was incapable of having quick reflexes.
"In his defence, he does have instincts and they work well..." The spider patted at the mare's nose appreciatively as she drew nearer and relaxed her many legs on the tip. "He just does not listen to them, he has gotten lazy with me as his guide!" While this was not a good quality for the stallion to have, the spider seemed rather proud of the fact that with her as his guide he could afford to be so sloth like on occasions.
"I assure you I am able to judge distance, weather and a variety of other things without sight," Cyn resisted the urge to shake his head as an itch teased at his ear. It was obvious what would occur if he did, he would most likely scratch the unfortunate mare with his horn and his poor companion would go flying off in a random direction like the last time he had shaken his head without warning.
"But you must admit...it is more entertaining to converse with an individual who can paint such colourful pictures, no?"

Her ears flickered quickly then stood at attention, intently listening to the small voice of the spider on her nose, Misaki laughed softly as she explained that Cyn had just gotten lazy.
She cut her eyes over to the large stallion, a playful tone in her voice, "You've not become lazy now, have you?" her eyes turning back to the spider, "Letting this lady do your work?"
Misaki had never seen such a companionship. She'd seen soquili with ferrets....foxes...even buffalo. But never in her years of roaming and various encounters had she ever met a soquili who'd befriended a spider.
"The images you paint are lovely. Hopefully, in time, I'll be able to hear more of your stories." Misaki loved conversing with others once the akwardness of the 'Hello's and how are you's' were out of the way. She loved to soak in the knowledge and experience that others had stored away.
Looking down her nose to the spider, then over to Cyn, her curiousity again bested her. "How long have the two of you traveled together?" she was unsure as to how long spiders lived, but from the feel of things, these two had been giving each other a hard time for a long while now.

"Of course I have not become lazy," Cyn released a small sigh as his companion 'butchered' his reputation as swiftly as she had emerged from his mane. Truly he had no problem with it given that he didn't take her very seriously and she didn't really take him very seriously either. It came with the territory - she had been raised and taught that he enjoyed being a bumbling old fart and so she pandered to that. It worked both ways, he could play his role effectively and she was guaranteed a free tour of the Kawani lands - there were very few spiders who could claim to be so travelled.
Nevertheless, as the mare enquired as to the length of time the pair had been bound together for he fell quiet. It wasn't that it was an uncomfortable question, he just couldn't tell date nor time given that he couldn't see the sun! Night and day were really irrelevant, he slept when he was tired and wandered about when he wasn't.
"Perhaps you should answer that?"
"Hrm..." the spider clicked her legs together thoughtfully, "I think it has been four months or so!" It seemed about right, she was the next generation to adopt the position of guide. Her father had retired from the position and she had taken up the mantle not long ago. It was unfortunate but spiders had very short lifespans and thus the bond that Cyn shared with one indicated the bond he had with them all.
After all, one spider couldn't make that many cobwebs on him!
"Her father retired recently, unfortunately they grow tired much more quickly than bigger creatures such as you or I."

She was amazed and intensely intrigued. The day had definately turned out to be a day worth waking up for. She listened closely as Cyn and the spider spoke, she enjoyed hearing of their history.
"Four months..." She looked down to the spider to inquire, "is that a long time in your life?" Misaki had never spoken with a spider before. She was sure that they didn't live nearly as long as a soquili, but she didn't know what type of span they were talking.
She looked over to Cyn as another question popped into her head, "Have you always been graced with arachnid companions?" She was interested in hearing more of the background and how these 'guides' came about.
She looked over Cyn's web covered body and smiled, she remarked, "It seems, by the looks of things, you've been traveling with their kind for a while." She didn't mean for the remark to be demeaning or belittling, she was merely making note that he as the reminents of several 'homes' left on his body.

"Four months is a ripe old age!" The spider confirmed proudly. She was aware that her kind lacked the lifespan of other creatures. However, she could argue that in these four months her kind could do far mroe than any other in a lifetime. They made homes, had families and at least one from every generation was granted the opportunity to journey with their 'Ancient Treasure'. While some creatures pitied this lack of longevity she was of the opinion that they led very fulfilled lives.
She certainly did anyway.
Nevertheless the mare continued to question the odd bond that the stallion and the arachnids appeared to have. Cyn was well aware that few travelled with them, he was also aware that some were afraid of them. However, the complex reasons behind their bond were somewhat uncomfortable for the stallion to discuss. For many thousands of generations they had been with him but he wasn't about to divulge the true reason behind this rather spectacular partnership.
He was their treasure, they had kept him secret for a ridiculous number of decades.
"One could argue that I have always been graced with them," he smiled mildly and gave a small snort of amusement at her reference to his coat. He was aware that while he slept they had decorated his coat, he viewed them as badges of honor - few had them. "They have been in my company for so long that it feels like 'always', you know?"
"He's really that old!" Mimi attempted to give a stage whisper, somewhat difficult given how small her voice was to begin with.

"You are certainly blessed to have friends such as you do then."
Misaki smiled and looked again down to the spider who still sat on her nose. She reached out, close enough to Cyn that the small creature could crawl back onto her companion and back into the comfort of his mane or where ever she prefered to travel and rest.
She laughed softly at the spider's last comment, thinking that she was only making fun of him, not truely giving his age. Her eyes glittered just a bit as the sun caught the moisture on them.
"Has it always been your family that has graced him?" she asked the small creature.
She didn't mean to be nosey, she didn't realize that this could be a touchy subject for her or the stallion to speak about. She wouldn't be offended if they told her that she was getting too personal. She merely liked to learn, and she knew to do that, she must ask questions.

"Indeed I am," Cyn confirmed, a small smile appearing on his lips as he felt the tickle of the spider on his nose. It wasn't long before the scuttling legs had rushed up into his forelock. Within moments the spider had returned to her former position upon his horn, perched loftily upon the very tip of the otherwise imposing feature. All in all, her choice to sit in such a position really aided in enhancing his already haunting appearance.
"I cannot say it was only her family that aid me though," Choosing to speak for both himself and his companion as she readjusted herself on his head, it wasn't long before he switched his own weight for greater comfort. "An alliance between many families of her kind have aided me, which I am most greatful..." He paused briefly and released a small sigh.
"However many would call my bluff at such a declaration," he pointed out calmly. He was well aware that there were some who simply couldn't detect the jesting and the light sarcasm within his tone - they took it for insults and more than once he had been accused of forcing the spiders into slavery. Unfortunately, he was fairly certain that the spiders were small enough to slip through whatever binds he may have tried to put them in.
"You are not accustomed to having travelling companions such as these?" He enquired at last, turning his blind gaze towards the mare once again. The bush many lifting ever so slightly as he seemed to raise his brows really was quite a comical picture to paint. Sometimes it was not as impossible as one might think, to read the expression of the overly fluffy beast.

She had never really had the pleasure of traveling with company for long. If she met a soquili that had been going in the same direction, they would walk together until time came for them to part. Hardly her travel companions lasted over a few days at most. She shook her head, then verbally answered his question.
"I'm afraid I can't say that I have." she shrugged slightly, more of an unconcious movement than anything. "I find that through the years it's hard to make companions when you're constantly on the move." She had never really settled in any certain area. She had roamed the lands to the east for many years, but no particular region had ever claimed the name as her 'home'.
She watched as the small spider moved her way back up to Cyn's horn. She smiled with slight envy as she settled onto the tip of his horn, happy and content it seemed.
"I find the bond you two share simply amazing..." she paused for a moment. The two seemed to work together so well, almost as one being. "It must be nice to know that you're never alone."

It must be nice to know that you're never alone.
He smiled faintly as the words left her mouth, it was at times like these when he was glad his face remained nearly completely hidden beneath his hair. The words had struck a chord and left him with a surprising amount of discomfort in his chest. It wasn't her fault and nor could she possibly begin to fathom their significance but he had wandered in solitude for many decades before drifting to his place of rest. It had only been as he began his 'eternal' slumber that he had struck up the deal with the spiders - in return for the warmth he provided, they made a sworn oath to keep him completely hidden from the world.
Decades ago he had made that promise and the spiders had kept their words. As he slept they had woven their webs so thick over the cave entrances that he was all but locked away from the world. The unique bond that Misaki craved had be born from a very solemn tale. A shattered soul who sought solace in his dreams was protected by the most unlikely of creatures. While he may have woken up the years they had spent in his company had caused the generations of spiders to grow as fond of him as he was of them.
Thus...they had continued to travel with him.
"It is a unique bond, to say the least..." he replied at last, his response albeit more controlled and less relaxed than it had been previously. It often took him a few moments to recover from such blows. Although it was not her fault there were often times when he was reminded of the unfortunate circumstances for his union with his friends.
"However friendships are born from the most unusual circumstances, what may first seem an acquaintance can transform into something far greater with time," he returned to normal with this and chuckled softly. "So long as you provide those you meet with the opportunity for something more, you may find that some will follow you to the ends of the earth...no questions asked."

She note the difference in his reply to her words, she paused for a moment, not sure whether to address the change or not. She couldn't bring herself to just let it go and not appologize, though she wasn't quite sure what it was that she had said.
"Cyn, forgive me. It seems as though I might have crossed a line..." she lowered her head in a humble manner, even though she knew he couldn't see her gesture.
She waited another moment before responding to his last comment. "Friends like that...they must be hard to find in this day." Misaki couldn't say that she had anyone that would do that for her. She had traveled so far, and had never stayed in one place long enough to become more than mere aquaintances with many soquili. Perhaps now, that she was back in her homelands, she would settle and make friends. Real friends.

Cyn had little doubt that 'friends' were certainly difficult to find in this current age. He had noticed even through his brief ventures that the younger generations were more abrupt, less patient and very brash. Their reckless behaviour led them into conflict and more often than not, those of more peaceful demeanours struggled to connect and to find solace. It was a sorry state of affairs and Cyn often questioned whether or not he had been awakened for the soul purpose of 'taming' a few of those abrasive figures. He had done it twice before...he could try doing it again.
Nevertheless as she apologised he could do nothing more than release a sigh and shake his head. It hadn't been his intention to cause any form of guilt or discomfort to the mare. It was unfortunate that he couldn't always control his emotions or he suspected this problem would have never occured! Alas, he would have to right such a misunderstanding in some manner or his own sense of morals wouldn't let him sleep.
"Your observations are correct in regards to the current generations behaviour," he mused at last before releasing a small chuckle. "However my loss of composure was not something you should feel need to apologise for," he assured her, tilting his head to the side. "A minor hiccup, if you understand..."

Her eyes rose the sky, checking to see where the sun had settled for the afternoon. Much to her surprise, it was lower than she had intended to let it get.
She had enjoyed the company of Cyn and his companion so, that she had let time slip away from her. She had only meant to hide from the sun's rays while it was at it's highest, unfortunately, it was time for her to be on her way again. Her sister was somewhere....Somewhere.
She looked back over to Cyn with a slight nod, she did indeed understand, but it was in her nature to be a bit appologetic when things went awry. She said nothing more on the matter though.
"I'm afraid I've allowed myself to rest too long," she began as slowly made her way to her feet. A few joints popping here and there as she stretched them out after the lengthy rest. "I've greatly enjoyed your company, but I must be on my way. I do most of my traveling in the early morning and afternoon hours."
She shook her body to free it from any debris that might have clung to her coat. "I do hope we cross paths again, Cyn." She spoke with great sincerety, she did hope to meet this stallion in the future for further conversation. "And, farewell to you as well, Miss." She smiled and peered at the small spider who still clung to the stallion's horn.
