Superjawes, bud I'd go with the PC. Cause you're only getting the ps3 for 2 games, 1 of which isn't out yet, nor shall it be any time soon. (unless there's been a surprise release date without my knowledge) And it seems you need a new pc more than you need the Elite.

EDIT: sigh, im still waiting to get hirede by someone, anyone ><.

Those aren't necessarily the ONLY two reasons for a PS3. I was actually looking for a few suggestions to swing it any way...

*shrug* Really that's up to you. If you really need a pc, than you should get it. If you feel you need to swap outr your 360 soon, go for it. The PS3 just seems like a desire, while the PC seem to be more of a need. Can't decide what the 360 sounds like. Sides, the elite and ps3 could see a price drop later this year, never know.

EDIT: Other games for the PS3 - Uncharted, Soul Calibar 4 (if you'd rather play as Darth Vader instead of Yoda), INFamous (2009 release date), Unreal Tournament 3.

Aw yes, the 45NM's would be the better way to go, but I'd still say put a bit more towards the cost and get a quad... You can upgrade the RAM and other hardware later.
The Motherboard I'm looking at should support extra RAM and a Qaud-core...anyways:

1) The Tech Report website I've been using last published a systems guide in April, suggesting that there will be another before the end of the summer--the earliest I would be building this machine. Part of that also includes price drops happening in the next couple months as well as the drops since then.

2) If this doesn't happen this summer, it will probably happen this Christmas, allowing for further price drops, new hardware, and extra Christmas funds mrgreen

On the OS side...I might be able to get a cheap copy of Vista soon. 64-bit XP is dead as far as I've heard, and the freshman laptops here are coming with 4GB of RAM. A license from the school could still be cheap, and the prospect of having a 4GB system and the jump to Vista out of the way covers a few concerns of mine.

Due to Collage rocking so ******** Hard, my brother scores copies of Vista Ultimate for close to 150 bucks.

And they say school is bad for you.

@Canis: Try and get a job at Starbucks. They raised their wages this year, and are expected to raise em next year too.
While Vista would be nice, I'd rather stay with XP Pro for $15 wink . But still...educational licenses, FTW! mrgreen

EDIT: As for Starbucks, are you sure that wasn't because the national minimum wage is rising? I think it's going to $6.25 either this summer or next.

They where paying 7 bucks an hour last year, because I wanted to work there, but I have to be 16.

It's jumped to nearly 8 bucks now, with rumor's of it hitting going up more next year, when I can start working.

I think you should either clean your 360 or get an elite. you have a lot of games for it so make sure you don't completely lose your investment. getting a new warranty is probably a good thing.

Hmmm...not bad. They're building a Best Buy over here and it should be done by the end of the year when I turn 16. I'll have to find out what they pay and check out other places as well.

It kinda of seems like he's trying to talk himself into a pc as well. but I know he's been talking about swaping his 360 for a while. cuz it's off warrenty and he's been worried about it red ringing on him. I think if he swaps his 360, it's more like protecting an investment. cuz i know he'll be pissed if he gets a red ring.

I may only have two games up for PS3, but any games that seem system-buy-worthy should be added.

Um, dude... Metal Gear Solid 4?

Honestly, that would probably be the only reason why I'd buy it. With everything I've heard, I'm quite skeptical about whether I would like it or not, as I've never played a Metal Gear game.

But yeah, unless they do another bundle with another game--or a couple older ones--I'm committed to the MGS4 bundle to get BC.

Eh, just find a decent fan boy to fill you in. Really you don't need to have played the other games to enjoy MGS4, but you'd probably get a little lost with the plot.

But if you've got a ps2 and really are interested in MGS4, you could just get this Metal Gear Solid: Essential collection

Gamestop
The Essential Collection includes the original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation and the director's cut of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 for the very first time in one collection

I was never particularly interested in MGS until I played MGS4. So, with no fanboyism or hyperbole, listen to me when I say that this is one of the greatest video games ever made. Get it, you won't regret it.

Okay, guys, I think this was decided for me. There are rumors about a 360 price drop, and there is only one game I would want to play between now and Force Unleashed--SCIV. Thus, I can wait until September or later to buy a new 360, and I will have a fresh system with a fresh warranty and a nice finish. I'll be getting $110 store credit to use towards my Elite, WHEN that time comes.

Thanks for the help.

PS
My drive also tried to stick on me today...
