Quintafeira12 Lullabee Sick ones sometimes grow up into ugly slumping army-green skinny ragged things, though. hey, we're not *"suposed"* to talk about that like that well, meh... I guess that knowing that, it's better to have a potion that makes them sick, no? You're not supposed to make traps, either. xp And, anyway, as I've only been on dragcave for about a week, I know little enough that if you're learning new things from me, you're in bad shape.
Maybe you could have both! I wouldn't want a sick one, really, and considering the fact that it must be easy as lots of newbies seem to do a damn good job of making their first couple dragons fiendishly unwell, it'd be a waste of money. Maybe the healing potion should be double the price of the sick-making one.

If they made Dragcave a paid site I wouldn't be able to continue. As much as I love my little pets I am not going to spend just to have them. I barely even spend real money on Gaia.

I'm not sure I'd stay on if it was REQUIRED but if you could get 'upgrades' or special features than heck yes.

That my case! the day gaia goes " you MUST pay " I'll be heading of to the next main dragcave comunity site and ditch this one. no regrets the day Dragcave goes "you MUST pay" .... well that will be a sad day for me and my eggs.

Yes, if I could still pick up dragons I would stay. So long as I still had access to any new ones that might be released. But I could live without something like the DC forum. (I don't even belong to it) I could live without being able to trade or breed between scrolls.

No. A thousand times NO.
No pay perks. Ever. Ever ever ever. They sow the seeds of elitism, and with some already holding themselves over people just because they have a chicken/paper/Gold/Christmas/specialofanykind, that will only make things worse. Look at Gaia. People with donation items have most of the wealth. I could probably dangle my NM scarf and some people would do backflips for a chance to touch it.
Besides, trading has been suggested on the main forum. Why would we want to pay for something that, if he made it available, would make no sense to bar from any of his members? :/

I only threw real money in to Gaia this time cause I wanted some very specific items before I couldn't get them any more. But I still think I would not be happy if you had to pay for any feature on Dragcave.

But I still think I would not be happy if you had to pay for any feature on Dragcave. I'm doing your avi's path right now: I want a Wild things, I'll buy it. When I'm tired of the chocobo-like roc, I'll sell it and try to make a profit. Friends help also, and there are really nice people out there! But with Dragcave, I won't give money, and I know I won't need to. TJ09, I have a picture of him in my head. He's smart, he asks oppinions indirectly, you just have to check the DC forum carefully and you'll notice it. After the fog he stated that he spent money on a new server, but only after that one server failed and he had to go to a new one did he make the donate button. And there were people asking for that button. I picture him like few people out there, and following that picture, he'll never, ever ask for any kind of money for anything. To put short that picture, he's no teenage noob, he knows what he's doing and he won't ruin his status asking money.

Well it seems to be a very mixed consensus. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Thats how it is for me playing Ultima Online. It costs me $12 a month to play, and thats 12USD. Its been more even lately cos of the auz dollar being strong but a few years ago it could cost me up to $16 aus dollars a month to play, then the cost of the net on top of that.
My point being, if its important enough, you will do it. Its a big IF....

Lith: I agree with you totally wink Donating elitists... are nearly worse than normal elitists. Private RO servers are a good example...
Anyway, looking at the whole topic, I have some things to say.
I personally wouldn't mind a couple of small, non-exclusive functions to be available for donators. Things like re-naming your dragons, or reviving your dragon if you accidentally kill it. Things that aren't totally necesary, but are a small convenience. Nothing at all exclusive or required. I named my first 2 head "Ckreo & Tham", but &s aren't accepted, so it got named "Ckreo Tham" instead. razz Things like changing your dragon's name for 50 cents would be a nice convinience.
Besides, I don't really think they could make it required at this point, and even if they did, it would drop the amount of users massively.
I also wouldn't mind having a setting in your account that adds more ads to every dragcave page, for a little money-credit. I luff ads; they don't cost me anything to ignore them, and then TJ gets paid directly for just having them there. All I have to do is just delete the cookies they set. Getting small amounts of money for getting more ads would just be icing on the cake. BRING ON TEH ADS!!! twisted
And with other donation-games... The only thing I don't like about them is when they advertise as being "Free to play FOREVER" and then at one point, say "you wont receive any good benefits unless you pay". FLYFF and all the Adventure Quest-company's spinoffs in particular. Runescape I'm fine with, because it is actually fully worth it to become a member, nor does it gloat about it's being "FREE TO PLAY" all over the place razz . Gaia is pretty bad, too. I really hate the cash shop. Sure, I like all the items, but when they say "Look at all these awesome items! Buy them now, because you won't be able to in a week!" with so many items every week, it really irritates me. Makes me wonder how much they care about us over money anymore. So often that I almost feel like quitting Gaia at times. Anyway, before I go too into that...
One thing a lot of people should know: sick eggs/hatchlings do not grow up into sick adults. The only way to get a sick adult is through a glitch (a couple have happened not too long ago), or if you already have one. Back when the DC forums were first made, sick dragons were a breed like any other dragon, and they grew up to be sick adults.
Well, that pretty much sums up all I had to say. razz
EDIT: Augh, I'm an idiot! gonk

And DC's ads aren't even the same in other sites, so they aren't has bothersome has many. Also, they aren't pop-up Didn't know about that sick dragon deal being a normal breed and all in the beggining. Why are you an idiot by the way? You don't seem one.
