Laughing, Mordred's smile only grew. "I hadn't forgotten, Arthur-dear, I'd merely chosen not to remember. Don't you know the difference?"

Before the rat could respond, Mordred ushered Arthur back away from the door with his shield. "Now, aren't you going to show me around your house?"

"It's hard to tell whether or not you think, Mordred--your skull is particularly thick," Arthur replied in a surly manner, raising his staff not quite quickly enough to block the shield from blocking his way in turn.

And he was damned if Mordred was going to learn anything about his territory. Damned and stupid. "Why don't I show you the outside, hm?" he muttered in response to the latter question.

"I'd rather investigate the inside-- with or without your cooperation, Arthur-darling. But you're coming along for the ride," Mordred smirked. "After all, I wouldn't want you to miss the fireworks, would I?"

Whether he liked it or not, hm? He considered inflicting advanced leprosy upon the angel, but he knew that wouldn't work. Proof lay in a previous incarnation--somehow, no matter how few fingers or opposable thumbs he had, Mordred was capable of anything he wanted.

An irritating truth.

And now he could either stay and watch the purported 'fireworks' or get out of here before they set off. He had no doubt Atticus would find a way to blame him. "I leave you to your fun then," he muttered, shoving the shield roughly aside with the help of his staff and heading towards the door once more.

"Abandoning me? My heart will break, Arthur-darling," Mordred smirked. "I'm actually amazed you trust me in your home though-- I imagine finding where you hide away won't be too difficult to find... will it?" the angel asked pointedly.

It wasn't that he held any particular grudge against Arthur-- it was more that he wanted someone to bother, and Arthur happened to be the lucky one.

Resisting the urge to close his eyes and let loose a curse (it was never a good idea to close one's eyes around Mordred), Arthur blinked stoically at the angel. "It isn't my home, and I 'imagine' it to be far less difficult to find where I sleep than to find where I hide."

Not to mention, you haven't a heart.

"Are you really so bored you must entertain yourself with me of all creatures?"

"Ah, but finding either won't be difficult. I'll look for the most disease-infested place in this house-- and that will be where you spend most of your time, won't it?" Mordred asked with a smirk.

"And yes, I must entertain myself with you-- unless you've someone hiding in the background you want to entertain me with."

Someone... hiding... who he would rather inflict Mordred on...

Oh, absolutely without a doubt.

Whether Atticus would forgive him was also an absolute, of course. But he doubted the Beta's resolve to actually injure him much more than he doubted Mordred's ability and/or desire to do the same. "He tends to lurk outside."

And, another attempt to walk past to the blessed walk.

Recapturing Arthur's interest (read: Arthur) with a few wingbeats, Mordred smirked. "Oh, really? And why isn't he inside, Arthur-dear? I'd rather not head outside again, truth be told."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2005 9:36 pm

Curses, foiled again. Arthur shoved away one of the wings rather rudely with his staff.

"He's sulking," he replied shortly. "Or something else egocentric of the sort. I haven't seen him in a good mood since I got here. I don't know if he knows how to be in one. Then again, neither do I, especially when you're around. Perhaps I simply haven't recognized it."

"A name to go with this charming description, Arthur-dear?" Mordred asked, smirking slightly. "I'm positively ravenous for information about your house mates."

Truth be told, he didn't care. It just would aggravate Arthur more to have to talk more to Mordred-- and that was something Mordred positively LIVED for.

"Really," Arthur muttered flatly. To his experience in past lives, if Mordred hadn't off and started bothering whomever else Arthur had suggested, he wasn't going to. Goody.

What, exactly, was he going to have to do to get out of talking any further with the other Horseman? Attempt murder? No, an impossibility. Distractions were fading fast and far into the unlikely as well. ...Disgust? But how?

...A new option shuddered into his mind and Arthur practically cringed at the mere thought of it. No... he couldn't resort to... that. It chafed too much with his intrinsic personality.

Smirking, Mordred ushered Arthur back away from the door with wings, shield, and sword. "So, Arthur-dear... going to give me a tour of your quaint little hide-away? Or are you going to introduce me around?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2005 10:05 pm

Someday, he was going to do something permanent to that sword. The same day he plucked Mordred like a chicken.

In the meanwhile, he was going to have to lose the Lord of War's interest. Slowly, battling with himself the entire way, Arthur's expression changed from one of vague distaste to a vulnerable, wide-eyed stare--as vulnerable as a diseased, green (possibly glowing o_O) rat can get, of course. That aside, he wasn't that bad at it. "You--you can't make me do this!" he protested, inwardly asphyxiating all innate rage at the show he intended to perform.

There was only one f*cking way to get Mordred off his back. Only one, f*cking way.

And that was to be as distasteful as humanly... no, inhumanly possible.

Mordred didn't immediately drop his smirk, but he did roll his eyes. "Don't play games like that, Arthur-dear. It's not very nice of you-- not that I expect you to play nice-- you never have."

If there was one thing in all the world Mordred had hated, it was someone that easy. While he knew Arthur wasn't truly that soft, the angel still couldn't stand it.
