I've created the poll. I'll describe each option below.
Creature Appearance - a creature from the second world comes to the character's world and that creature leads her back to its world.
Shadow World - the second world is an alternate reality in which the actions in the shadow world affect the first world.
Dream - the character falls into a dream that is more real than usual. The dream doesn't end until the character finds himself/herself or something to that effect.
We'll work on the details after we get a general idea. Happy voting!

The poll has just closed, and it's a tie between Creature Appearance and Shadow World. So, it is my place to make the final decision, both because I am the lead designer and also because I was the one who voted for Dream. sweatdrop
So, the transportation is through Creature Appearance. My reason for doing this is that the creature can be a machine or hologram sent from the future, so it ties into the setting very well. If we agree that the mech is the one who sent for her, it could be a hologram sent by the mech.

What if we combine that dream concept with another? Like have the dream enacted by the player for a certain scene within it, and just use this voted concept just for the beginning of the game?

dark_angel_damian2 the mech cant have sent for her unless it ha a soul so just a normal person sent for her using the mech how about that But a mech with a soul would be interesting wouldn't it? That the protagonist was destined to pilot it. Who says something can't or isn't allowed to happen. In our world we can decide that.

i said it cant, doesnt mean it wont' now does it? smile see even though technically in reality none of this can happen it is virtually impossable for a machine to have a "soul" so lets make it more interesting my giving it a soul.

Agreed. A mech with a soul is a good idea. It makes the mech a character itself instead of just a machine. Good job, everyone. Keep the ideas coming.

true but dont expect the mech to just talk we need someone who can be like the mechs human form to talk through the mech so that that person can say what the mech is thinking then later actually be the mech. probably a male.

if its the colony Idea, then there wold be other pilots.
If every mech has a soul and is above average, the main one doesn't seem as important.

We could always make the protagonist's mech be the only one with a soul. Also, I'm not sure if we want to use voices or not, so I'll add that to the small stuff poll.

light_angelic_demonoid we should use voices and the protagonists mech has a soul which takes form of a person that works great In that case, we could do a character similar to Chachamaru, from Mahou Sensei Negima!, but there is the point in making the mech able to transform into a pilotable object...
