So far I have the following:
> Trenchcoat. > 3 piece suit (sans jacket to allow for the trenchcoat, so trousers, waistcoat shirt and tie, though I plan to upgrade to a cravatte). > Pocket watch avec chain. > Top hat and goggles pending.
As it is, I really don't look too bad, though I know a trenchcoat isn't one's first thought for steampunk garb, it works quite well with the suit aspects. Shoes are a harder matter; I have no real smart shoes, and on the opposite end of the scale I have some military style boots which are probably too small now. Altogether I look a bit like my avatar as it is now, expect that I don't have a gun. Best gaia approximation anyhow. I'll post some photos as soon as I have some form of goggles, i hope.

My steam-esque apparel are as follows:
→ a black light coat-like garment → two waistcoats; one is two large for me → a bowler hat → various blouses → a heavy, dark-coloured pleated skirt → some black lace-edged knee-length stockings
No picture yet. D:

Finally! Got around to getting some pictures: View one, View two, Close upHere is a picture of my compass/sundial, sextant, and pocket watch (and D&D sheets ^_^), and here are some ties I could have worn instead. I wasn't so sure about the hat, because it doesn't quite match, but here are the three best ones I had to choose from, and the Stetson just seemed to work best. I also have a black silk shirt and a reddish-brown silk shirt, and another cream one but with patterns, and I'm working on modifying a pair of awesome brown stripy pants so that they fit me. Still need a decent pair of boots. I have a pair of shoes that'll do in the meantime, but they're not as comfortable as I'd like...and boots=awesome.

Not bad at all. I especially like your coat, I have never seen things like it in shops. Also, a good match to your avatar, or was it the other way round? Are you fourth edition?

I love my coat - just finally got it in the mail (ordered it on Ebay). I actually didn't think about my avatar's coat at all. I bought my coat after I had it equipped, but I never thought of it matching other than the fact that I like lighter brown trenchcoats. o_O Fourth edition? What's that?

Jarram - thanks man ^_^
Imber - Ooooooh. Oh god no. Most of my books are still 3.0, and I only have the 3.5 Monster Manuel because there were a lot of errors in the one before it (plus, the 3.5 tells you how to make characters out of a ton of the monsters! rock!). From what I've seen, the 4th edition changes look insane - it's like they made a completely different roleplaying game. Granted, it was probably like that when they moved up from Second edition, but why bother learning a new game and finding new people to play with when I'm still having fun with three? ^_^

Correction: I know have a Top Hat! And I should hopefully be getting some goggles on sunday... Also, a little extra is my abney park dogtags, but I've had them for a while, so shouldn;t really be an update. Photos will come on sunday.

Heh for my steampunk look all i would need is blue overals,a tan or sand colored oxford shirt,a commanders cap or captains whatever its called with copper or brass goggles on it with my badge on the cap.Oh! and the hardest part would be the big belt with a bag on my rear waist and straps on my thighs where bags hang in each side and boots with exposed steel caps on the front.

This is my current favourite outfit. I'm a huge fan of purple, and I'm trying to find a velvet jacket to go with the shirt.

It's amazing to me that, in this case, how much people here actually look like their avatars- it'll be quite dissapointing when I finally post mine then!

Some great looking punkers here biggrin
I'm aiming for something similar to my avatar, currently my outfit stands like this:
http://angelus-knight.deviantart.com/art/Victorian-Steampunk-Stock-18-80593135
But also more recently acquired a jabot: http://demoncherrystock.deviantart.com/art/steampunk-stock3-93666246
As Well as this I also have a nice wool frock coat, but plan on attempting to make my own coat sometime.

I absolutely adore this coat, it's an orchestra jacket complete with long tails. It doesn't show up very well on this picture but at least the red silk shirt shows up well.
