Morbid Outlook Why on earth would that be an issue? Well, there are some, and I'm not saying all, elitist lolita's believe that if you're lolita, you should be with an Aristocrat and not another woman. That it shatters the illusion of innocence and beauty if you're a lesbian. Plus there is the fact that some religions find it a sin. But as Vespa Ater said in the first post, she was just curious about other's thoughts on the matter. biggrin I'm bisexual myself and I'm actually falling for one of the girls I know as a Lolita. Sadly, she has a man.

That's not an "elitist" that's a lunatic [read: overzealous and unreasonable, not applied to all] "lifestyler" or maybe a homophobe. <_<;
Besides, most of the aristocrats and the like in the west are women/girls, anyway. Not that many boys out there outside of Japan that seem to really be all that into it [or at least, not into it and on the internet these days]. There's the Teddy Boys community, but they're fairly small and mostly consist of girls anyway.

supposing we said 'no' what would you do? -_- why should sexuality interfere with the way you dress. not to stereotype but a good number of alt. fashionistas are what we call 'not straight'. Couldn't you're love dress in aristocrat ? I mean I'm sure there were lots of cross dressers ._. i mean, if you care that much..

Vespa Ater hello all. I am a Victorian Gothic/ Lolita and I am in a serious relationship with a woman. According to lolita culture and the style, Would you guys say that it is cute or distasteful to be with a girl. Your opinions won't bother me as I am very comfortable with my sexuality. I was simply curious.
Considering there was a ton of Lolita's in the Japan Pride march, I don't think it's a big deal. biggrin So, yay!
If you want, I can get you a link to the vids from YouTube.

I guess that makes me another one to add to the list!
I think its so cute! Imagine... a sweet lolita lesbian couple, holding hands; that'd be so cute! Besides.

I think Lolita is for boy/girl relationships. If I saw two Lolita-clad women kiss, I think I'd be a little surprised. I'm clearly not against lesbianism, I just think that Lolita is based off of earlier Europeans and they were either straight or persecuted. Of course, there's nothing wrong with two girls if one of them was dressed in boystyle/aristocrat/ouji.
Again, it just suits the style.
This September for the BTSSB tea party / boutique I'm bringing my girlfriend who's going to be wearing Kodona. I just think it fits better.
Two Lolitas showing PDA (other than hand-holding) in public just seems more like a cheesy porn/hentai as opposed to cutesy-cutesy love, especially when many people mistake Lolita for French-maid or fetish clothes.

So you're saying one should dress a certain way simply because of thier orientation? What's the difference between two lolitas and two femmes, or two (female) kodonas and two butches? Who are you to say it's wrong for someone who wears something to do something else, especially with the person they love? I will agree Lolita and Kodona do compliment each other, but LolitaxLolita is also a very adorable pair as well.

Who cares? You can love whom ever you want, and if a boy disagrees,*Which they shoulden't because most love Yuri aka girl on girl*,you can kick em straight in the balls and still have the poise and dignatey of a true lolita!

'a lolita always has the right to gracefully kick someone in the shin, and then walk away with dignity and poise.'
(or however it goes)

Lolita is a fashon, so I think it really shouldn't matter what sexuality you are. I'm straight myself, but Lesbian Lolitas are perfectly acceptable. heart

Your Personal status souldnt "destory" your lolita look. I believe that being diffrent (such as Lolita) takes guts these days. ^_^ Im straight but I see no problem in Lesbian Lolitas.

My self being some one who for a long time was afraid to come out about anything of the sort , well. I read this and started to cry. Your not alone . We love you. Its cool to be loved and not mocked by the people you feel you are most like. I am totally posting my lolita RAINBOW outfit soon. I made it for a pride parade. Fashion has nothing to do with your preference anyway.

I'm clearly not against lesbianism, I just think that Lolita is based off of earlier Europeans and they were either straight or persecuted. Of course, there's nothing wrong with two girls if one of them was dressed in boystyle/aristocrat/ouji. That's ridiculous logic. In the time periods Lolita fashions are inspired by, Lolitas themselves would be persecuted for wearing such short skirts. And there were plenty of homosexuals who lived in secret or who married anyway. Marrying a man doesn't make a lesbian straight. It makes her unhappy. I also take huge issue with saying it's all right for two people to be seen together as a couple as long as one is dressed "femininely" and the other "masculinely." As the fiance of a straight male crossdresser, I'm insulted, and I'm sure others are, too. My fiance and I often go out 'dressed,' and pity anyone who has a problem with it. Love knows no gender boundaries, and fashion shouldn't be divided by sex.
