Be sure if you go out in the sun to use sunscreen!
When you get out of the shower, splash your face with cold water. The hot water from the shower opened up your pores, inviting in all kinds of dirt, but if you put cold water on it, it closes them back up.

Ask your doctor or Dermatologist about Retene or Evoclean they both work very well. Also if you have big breakouts before your period and acne medicine isn’t helping then some forms of birth control will help. Only try this if nothing else has worked and you have consulted a doctor.
@Jessie Kate: I never thought about that but it completly makes sense. Tomorow morning I will end my shower with some cold water~

I have heard many different things, and just by reading this thread I've gotten some ideas that I shall try.
I used proactiv, and it worked for awhile, then it just kinda stopped working... So I went back to using neutrogena, and that actually made it WORSE... crying I tried toothpaste, but I didn't sleep with it on, so that's one thing I will try again.
How do you make the rice water? *isn't very good at cooking rice*
Being outside in the sun has helped somewhat. Also, swimming helps out alot. The chlorine in the water dries out your skin, which has helped with my acne.
But, I'm glad this subject came up, because I was starting to feel like I was the only Lolita who has problems with back and shoulder acne... It sucks terribly because I'm REALLY self conscience about it, and I have problems wearing tank tops and things like that... =3=

It works a little because it has Bynzol Peroxide or something like that in it. They put the same stuff in oxy and stridex but in larger quantieties. You will have better luck with the over the counter acne tratments than you will with toothpaste, but neither work all that well.

Swelled up like a balloon, broke out in hives and got a nosebleed. X_X

Are there any quick things I can do without buying anything? I might be going over to my boyfriend's house on Saturday, and I woke up this morning with a brand new batch of pimples... Joy... I wash my face religiously, and I avoid greasy foods and such, but yet I can't get away from it, it pissed me off... >.<

Okay, what I find really effective is NATURAL organic honey which can be found here at www.honey4allergies.com send them an email on some honey and they'll ship it over and it works SO GOOD. I would really suggest not squeezing your pores coz that makes the bacteria go deeper into the pore and its just not pretty [ I used to be a squeezer] Yah but honey is for the win :3 and it has to be natural organic non processed. Pretty much nothing from your local grocery store.. but the website above is really great : o

I read in a magazine once that if you put eye drops that are supposed to reduce reddening on a cue tip and freeze it and then put it on a noticeable zit before going somewhere then it will be less noticable. The eye drops make it less red and the temprature reduces swelling.

u dont have to worry about acne or pimples if u know ur clean.take a bath everyday and use facial wash.it helps if u do it in the morning and before u sleep.if u keep urself clean u dont ahve to worry bowt it unless ur parents or relatives have pimples.its in the genes.of course a couple of these things show up esp in puberty but if u just leave it alone and avoid touching it,it will be gone in no time.thats what i do anyway

Some acne is genetic, some is not. Just being "clean" won't help you if you have actual acne and not just the occasional zit popping out. I wash my face twice [and sometimes three times] daily, but if I don't use very specific types of cleansers, eat lots of food with vitamin A, and remember to take my BCpills, I still have massive break outs.
It's not just a matter of cleanliness and avoiding touching your face, unfortunately, or the whole world would be free from the problem in a matter of weeks. =/

JessieKate--> Ever since I read about the cold water thing, I've started doing it, and it does help. And, it made me think. If the hot water opens your pores, and the cold water closes them, then isn't it best to put hot water on your face before washing with an acne cleanser? Then wash it off with cold water?
I've recently started using two new products my mom bought me. One is a neutragena body wash, and I use that everyday in the shower ((I shower everyday because I have to shave everyday and my hair gets dirty fast)) and I wash my face after my shower and when I wake up with Clean and Clear foaming cleanser. It's helped, but it's not so good for me at the moment, as I'm on my period and I can't control anything... But, both have helped greatly. My mom has told me that Birth Control will help control my acne and regulate my periods ((I'm nowhere near regular. Sometimes I get one after a month, sometimes I'll go 70+ days without one)) But, I don't want BC, because for one I hate swallowing pills, and for two it'd be kinda a pain... >.>

Birth control pills are tiny, hon. XD They're not even as big as Advil. They're maybe 3-4mm across, about the size of the food you've chewed up and swallow.
