Typhoon nodded, scooting the basket closer with his wing and a bit of Will. He hoped that he was reassuring this young mother enough that she wouldn't worry too terribly while out fulfilling her Task.

"Of course, my dear. You'll need them to take your fluffs back. If you need any help taking them home, I'm sure I could borrow another basket and help you carry one home. I bet it was a long flight here," said the Ghost Minder, wrapping one of the fluffs--Ashton, he believed--in his wing and Will and preened him throughly, eying his brother as if to say, 'You're next.'

"What is your task, by the way? I assume some kind of gatherer. Those glass bottles on your strap must be very valuable. Do you have any companions to help you gather?" Ty asked, and at that, Dune popped out from under the platform where he'd been crawling around. The pale tan mus squeaked, jumping up onto the edge of the basket, turning his head to the side.

"Fluff?" Dune asked, looking up at Typhoon and noticing the other baby wrapped in his wing. "Fluffs! Fluffs!" He did a backflip into the basket, making little squeaks here and there as he investigated it.

Amber’s feathers sleeked ever so slightly as she recalled the difficult flight with that basket. “Yes… Yes, it was quite a trip. I was terrified I’d drop my boys the whole way here. It would be wonderful if you could help me on the way back. My mate would have helped me, but he’s been gone on some kind of hunting excursion for a long time now.”

She sleeked a little more at mentioning her mate. How she missed Mapleclaw! He was so busy that he couldn’t even make it home for the hatching of their offspring, and there was still no hint of when he would return…

Shaking herself back to the here and now, she was just in time to hear Typhoon’s questions about her Task. “You’re close, but I’m actually an apothecary. I just do a lot of my own gathering, since I don’t really have much to trade with most professional gatherers. I have two mus to help me out. They’re out scouting for me right now, as a matter of fact. I’ll catch up with them when everything is set here.” She paused to smile at the minder. “I can see you have everything under control, so I guess this is a good time to start looking for them.”

Typhoon nodded at the mention of her mate. His own mate was gone...she'd disappeared seasons ago and Ty could assume only the worst after all this time. He hoped that this pretty young mother wouldn't have to go through the same grief. And he'd never had eggs to watch over. Though maybe that would be comfort to her, if he didn't come back.

Either way, Ty thought it was best not to mention his thoughts.

"Apothecary? Ah, I see. You should look into trading with other gatherers, if you want to spend more time with your young." He smiled, setting the fluff back in the basket, watching both of them carefully. No telling when a fluff would decide to come out and explore the world.

"Yes, everything is set here. You'll see your babies soon enough, you won't even believe how fast the time will go. Good luck with your gathering!" The Ghost Minder nodded, reaching down and preening the other hatchling.

Amber's eartufts flicked with interest at Typhoon's suggestion. "That's a wonderful idea. I'd love more time to have my own lessons with the boys. And there's the basket-carrying aches, which I'd love to have less time with," she chuckled, stretching a slightly stiff wing to illustrate her point.

She stretched her other wing and anything else that had stiffened up while she'd been chatting. There was no reason to dawdle any longer; she'd depleted her list of Important Questions for the minders. Time to work!

"See you later, boys," she said to the hatchlings. She then gave the Ghost minder a gracious nod and made her way to the edge of the platform. "Thanks again, I'll be back soon!"

And off she flew.
