The dark-type was in too much of a rush to aim with his prior attack, he knew, and so he wasn't surprised when he felt the bird's presence flying unfazed through the barrage. He snorted slightly, flicking the tip of his tail as he thought about how to beat this stupid bird. He was doing terribly for some reason, and he wasn't sure why that was. Well, the only thing he could do was--
"Ryou!!"
"Bre!" The umbreon cried as he took a direct hit, the force of the attack sending him tumbling forward and skidding to a halt on his side. He growled as he opened his now glowing eyes, forcing himself to stand. He couldn't take much more of this, he knew, but he still had to try.
Large chunks of rocks flew up from around him and swirled around him in a protective circle before he sent them all barreling towards the flying-type as fast as they could go.
Super-effective, +50hp if it hits

Prince looked at the oncoming rocks. Darn, was that black dog thing trying to pelt him with rocks AGAIN? He definately needed to dodge those...stick and stones broke his bones. The pidgeot attempted to go through the barage of rocks again, but he was not as lucky as last time. Right when he thought it was over, whoosh! A sizeable rock hit his wing.
"Ge..." Prince said, wincing at the pain.
"Go Prince! We're almost finished!" Luna encouraged her pidgeot. She disliked it when her pokemon were in pain, but if they finished the battle, he would be pain free! At least until the next battle. "U-turn!"
The pidgeot started to glow green, reflecting the bug-type nature of the move, as he approached Ryou. "Geooooooooooooo!"

Kazuki winced as the dark-type was hit once more; he felt absolutely awful. Ryou had not tasted defeat before, and the trainer knew that the scarred pokemon would not like it. Still, they couldn't stop now, no matter how much the blue-eyed trainer wanted to, for Ryou's sake.. "One more time, Ryou!"
The blinded pokemon struggled to stand, unable to move really now after the blow to his shoulder. He shuddered a bit and glared; he did NOT like this at ALL. He knew this was his last chance, so he put all his power and effort into the attack again, sending a barrage of rocks hurtling towards the irritating bird pokemon.

Luna could see that Ryou's attack was even more vicious than his last, it must have been a bit of a "last resort" type attack. The rocks were larger and they whizzed up at Prince speedier than ever. There was only one thing the pidgeot could do. "Lett's go right through this barrage to end it with aerial ace!"
Prince, high up in the sky again, glared back at Ryou as he dove down through the rocks. The large pideot did not even attempt to dodge them, he simply broke through them with his glowing white beak. Trails of energy and wind flew past him, but he still was not clear yet. As he broke through a particularly large rock, chunks of it fell on his wings and made it painful to fly through the last bit.
The bird pokemon narrowed his eyes. Just one last hit and it was over. He flew beakfirst at Ryou's face.

"Look out!" The short trainer shouted as he flailed, covering his face in his hands. Ryou's first loss was not a particular 'first' he cared to see.
It seemed the dark-type had nearly given up, but at his human's yelling, he barely managed to roll out of the way in time. He panted heavily, tail drooping as he glared around, weakly focusing in on the bird's aura. "Bre!" He shouted, his tone more tired than anything, while his eyes glowed blue again.
"Try another confuse ray!"
Well, that could work. The dark-type had prepared to use natural gift again but, this was their only chance to avoid losing the battle. His rings glowed blue as he sent out a nearly blinding flash at the flying-type, hoping to confuse him. It was their last chance.

Prince was a bit disappointed when he did not feel a solid hit occur, but he would not give up. The pidgeot quickly began a u-turn attack to flip in the air, twist, and fly back on the course towards Ryou glowing with green energy. One last u-turn. He didn't care what his trainer said, it was his show now. The pidgeot closed his eyes a few seconds after the blinding flash.
He immediately felt his surroundings distort while his eyes were open, so the pidgeot knew immediately closing his eyes and relying on his senses were the best way to land the final blow on the umbreon. He trusted in his senses to not fly him into a rock.

Unfortunately for Prince, it was a rock that he was heading straight towards. Ryou didn't even bother to move, and Kazuki just blinked. Well, it seemed that the confuse ray had worked. ...which meant they still had a chance. A teeny tiny little chance, but it was still a chance. "Natural gift!"
The dark-type didn't bother to respond as his eyes glowed once more, yanking up several rocks from the ground around them. They spun around in a circle for a few moments before he launched them towards the confused bird.

Luna closed her eyes and gritted her teeth as she watched Prince's inevitable collision with the rock. Ouch. Poor guy. "Stupid Prince." Luna muttered to her Pidgeot. She wouldn't help him for his own mistakes, a painful reminder would teach him better.
The rocks hit the confused Prince dead on and the bird fell over in the sand, huffing with pain. Okay, maybe going on his own WASN'T such a good idea. He got up on his feet again, shaking some sand off his feathers. The ground was still a bit dizzy.
"Prince! Just go straight ahead!" Luna encouraged her pidgeot. Hopefully if they worked TOGETHER this time, they would land a hit. Prince followed her command, flying straight ahead. Or so he thought.
"You're veering a bit left..." The pidgeot redirected his course quickly. "PERFECT! GO FOR IT! U-TURN!"

The dark-type glared, baring his tiny fangs as the bird pokemon hurtled towards him. Prince wouldn't miss this time, and the dark-type had hardly enough energy to stand there, let alone jump to the side. Still, he made an attempt to dodge despite the odds. The sudden impact still caught him by surprise though, and sent him flying across the field. He landed and rolled several feet before sliding to a halt in a heap near the end of the arena, defeated.
Kazuki peeked out from behind his hands, as he'd been unable to watch the final blow. "Ryou!!" He shouted; he'd known it. The dark-type had put up one hell of a fight, but he just couldn't go on. The short trainer ran over to the scarred umbreon and scooped him up, cradling the unconscious pokemon in his arms and checking him over for any (really serious) injuries. Finding none, thankfully, he looked over at Luna and offered a small smile. "That was a great battle, Luna. I think he'll want a rematch with Prince sometime soon though," he warned before turning to leave, intending to head straight to the nearest pokecenter, despite the number of people he knew would be there.

After Prince landed the blow, he immediately was snapped out of confusion and flew onto the rock with a smug grin. Luna took out Prince's pokeball and recalled her pidgeot into the sphere shaped device with a relieved sigh. She had finally beat Ryou after three tries. "I'll be expecting it 'Zuki!"
Luna walked out of the stadium as well, headed for Katarina's stalls so she could finish up sewing the plushie she owed the other trainer. She would probably take Prince to get healed up sometime around late at night when the center wasn't as busy. Taking a deep breath of stadium air, Luna couldn't surpress her joy in overcoming one of her battling obstacles. She broke out in a run to Katarina.
