Rap is terrible music. I mean, as a generalization, I find that it leads to stupidity due to the lack of any intelligence in the lyrics. And for a band which is 50% lyrics, if that's crap, that's already half the song. Now, I know some rap is intelligent and raps about world politics or actually decent subjects, but much of it is "lol check out my car and my aesthetic braces and rampant skank-whores", bragging about stupid things and possessions.

For this reason, I cannot listen to Korn, no matter how heavy their guitar is. to quote-
"Shut up
shut up
shut up
I'll f**k you up"

Firstly, the message is idiotic and lacking. Secondly, rhyming words with themselves? Can't do it. Can't let myself slide into the pile of stupidity.

nicely said. That's also the reason i stopped listening to bands like korn, slipknot, Otep, Jack off Jill, Linkin Park, and other not so happy bands ^_^

User Image You give me butterflies

I am not a big rap fan.
But I know one or two.
As everyone has already said, KJ-52 is an awesome one to check out.
I saw him in concert along with several other Christian artists and he was so funny.

I agree with you both. I don't enjoy Korn, and Slipknot I only like their song "stars." The only rap song I like is "Where is the Love?" By the Black Eyed Peas.

Also, the rock music I like is rock with a woman's voice. It's so much softer and less... I don't know XD Like, Nightwish, Within Temptation and Evanescence are all female singers and they are some of my favorite bands. I also like Kamelot though, and their main singer is a guy.

I find most rock music (Ex- Linkin Park, Korn, Disturbed, Metallica (their okay, not a big fan of them though) MCR, etc.) to be repetitive and disturbing. Just my opinion though~

I do like Eyeless by Slipknot. That's a pretty decent song. But if you want to hear some epic metal, look up Protest the Hero. They are a great band. Their lyrics are decent, but they really shine with their guitar. It's amazingly fast, the drums are heavy, and best yet, the music is completely dynamic. They rarely repeat a line, they often have no chorus, it's just a stream of music that changes as the mood does. It's so much more interesting than "intro lyrics chorus lyrics chorus lyrics chorus bridge outro"

No, they have lyrics, but they don't have a chorus system. Most songs are composed with a chorus, the lyrics that are repeated several times through the song. Protest does away with this. And the style changes too- You'll be listening to blood-pumping metal, have it switch over to some kind of soft guitar...I want to call it a sonata, and then back into metal. The transition is natural, and not awkward. The best way to see how awesome they are is to listen- I would suggest Sequoia Throne, No Stars, Bloodmeat and A Plateful of Our Dead

Edit- If you want music with no lyrics, I'd suggest NIN's "Ghosts" series, you should be able to find them on limewire. They are all untitled except by numeric order. My favorites are "24 Ghosts" and "27 Ghosts"

Thanks! I had no idea NIN had stuff without lyrics. I actually love their sound but stopped listening to them because i wasn't a huge fan of their lyrics. Thanks for the tip! smile

I like some of the lyrics because they aren't always blasphemous. They are often against organized religion, and I would tend to agree with that notion. God is not confined to the walls of a church.

If you want to hear some messed up stuff, try Gorgoroth. They once crucified three women live on stage and got away with it - the stage owner got thrown in jail for not letting them know that it was against the law...

True story. That kind of crap only happens in Norway.

also on a added note since there's alot of talk of non-Christian rap music. Stay the frig away from anything produce from psychopathic records. ICP has a gimmick that they are from the dark carnival. Its a very dark spirit. I was a hardcore juggalo. They say its there god. STAY AWAY, it will ruin you.
