Upon seeing the needle, Kaiyumi seemed to pale further, almost oblivious to the fact another person had entered. Right now, she was focused on the needle. She did not like needles. They were pointy, and sharp, and they hurt, and...and...
Shudder.
She snapped out of her trance the moment she heard someone speak to her. Looking up at the other woman, she smiled what she hoped to be an assuring smile. "Oh...yes. Don't worry about it - I'm okay! I'm..."
All it took was another glance at the needles, and Kaiyumi was clinging to the other woman's sleeve like a child. "I hate needles. Hatethemhatethemhatethem." With how she was acting, and her height, it was hard to tell whether she was really an adult or a child.
She further complicated this when she turned to scramble behind Kumiko, poking her head out to regard the needles warily. "Getting blood taken hurts..."

Lucien saw Kai's reaction and let out a small giggle, waving her hand as if telling her it's going to be alright. "Oh don't worry, I promise it'll only be numb for a second~ heart " The nurse was already readying the needles and had started to take the blood sample from Kumiko. It actually only took the nurse a split second to finish. As soon as Lucien put the needle into a small bag, the receptionist got out from behind the desk and had walked over to Spice with a contract and a pen, after handing those over she went over to Kai and petted her over the head.
The receptionist's smile never filtered once as she left the soon-to-be parent's side. When she got back, Lucien waved around a needle half filled with blood at Kai. "See, it wasn't so bad!" she indicated cheerfully as she put the needle into another bag. "Ok! Who's next~ heart ?"

Kumiko patted Kaiyumi on the head like she would do to comfort one of her students.
"There, there," she murmured softly, "it's all right. Just a quick pinch, and then it's over." She smiled reassuringly.
But then Kaiyumi scrambled behind her, startling Kumiko slightly. "Eh?" She looked over her shoulder to look at the other woman ... who was acting quite ...
Well.
She was mildly distracted for a moment while the nurse took her blood, but she paid the nurse no mind. It really didn't bother her. She had no trouble with blood. None whatsoever. Well, unless it was spurting out of the body in an unnatural place - say, the eyes or the ears - but other than that she didn't mind it. As for needles themselves ... well, they didn't bother her either.
Once Kai had her blood drawn as well, she smiled down at the woman. "See?" she smiled. "No big deal."
She looked up at the nurse. "What exactly do you need the blood sample for?" she asked curiously. "Do you match us to children using DNA or something?"
Not that she would match any of these kids. An only child, both of her parents had also been only children, and she was of course childless.

Spice shook her head, reading her contract while spinning the pen about between her fingers.
"Don't worry. A lot of people get nervous around needles. I get pretty antsy if i need stitches." She mentioned, which was probably her own way of trying to comfort the poor woman who seemed terrified of needles. She was fine with shots and blood drawing herself, yet having thread in her skin never ceased to creep her out.
She hummed as she filled out her forms, still mostly appearing in her own world. Strange lady.
