There was so much to do here he thought as he walked along with Damaris. It seemed a lot bigger then the carnival that he had gone to as that one had been the sort that traveled around. Staying in one spot must make it so that they could do more with it, put more in it, his ears turned forward as Damaris suddenly pointed out the very game that he had been wanting to try.
He took a couple steps forward he paused, starring at the large man that was standing in front of it trying to get people to play by flexing and almost daring them to try, "Woah... I need muscles like that!" He said, seeming not to have understood that the man was playing the part of the Intimidating Man.
He looked at his own arms, flexing them a bit then shook his head. Nothing like what the other man had by far but he was stronger then he looked. He looked over at Damaris when she said the game looked hard, "It is a bit but I have won it before." He sounded hopeful. After all if his strength alone wasn't enough he had the ability to augment his strength, something he'd learned in an advanced magic class. Something he would do if he couldn't win Damaris' prize with his natural strength alone.

Damaris giggled a bit as Valens commented on the game masters physique and how he wanted to look similar as he tested out his own muscles. He must have spoken his mind a lot. It made him pretty amusing to be around.
"I bet you can do it." Damaris said encouragingly, even if he couldn't he could probably do a lot better than her, so she was excited to see just how well he would do.

Valens' tail set to swishing once more. The fact that Damaris was telling him she thought he could do it made him want to try it out all that much more! He gave a happy sound before leading the way over to the mountain of a man that was in charge and gave him a smile, "I want to try!" He said in an excited manner.
It rewarded him with a stared and then a chuckle from the man who informed him, "Three tries, hit the bell and win a prize."
Valens nodded, checking how many tickets this game cost and got them off of the bundle he'd bought and held them out. He walked over to pick up the hammer that was used in the game, shifting it in his hands. Wow, this seemed a bit heavier then the last one he'd used and the thing looked a bit taller as well.
Ah well, he was here he might as well try his best!

Damaris stood by Valens as he picked up the mallet. He looked up at the bell, "Wow, that is pretty hight." She commented before looking back to Valens, "I'm sure you can do it though." She said reassuringly trying to hype up Valens.

The horse boy's ears started to flick back and forth, heart skipping a beat as he got cheered on and thusly that much more excited! He lifted the hammer up high over his head and brought it down as hard as he could. The hammer hit the target which in turn launched the metal projectile up... no ding but he'd actually gotten it pretty high.
He gave a big grin, "Alright, one more." He said out loud to himself. He lifted the hammer up once again and brought it down, harder this time. It was even closer this time. He starred up at the bell for a moment, lifted the hammer up to hold it out in front of him and started to concentrate and gather energy in the manner Mr Barkhelm had taught him, strengthening himself for the third and final attempt...

Damaris looked pretty impressed already that Valens could get the weight as high as he did. He was really strong, a lot stronger than he looked. She waited and watched with awe as he readied himself for the last swing.

Valens drew in a breath when he had the magics manifested and hoped that it wouldn't be considered cheating using something that was a part of him to try this out. He lifted the hammer up again, this time it seemed a whole lot easier to do so as if it weighed almost nothing and he brought it down in a flash.
The metal projectile flew upwards and crashed into the bell causing it to ring out loudly and he gave a bright grin. He was certain it wasn't cheating when you were using your magic to win a prize for someone else he told himself before turning to Damaris, "Wanna pick what prize you want?" He asked, tail swishing rapidly behind him like an excited puppy.

Damaris watched wide eyed as the bell rung and the game man stared at Valens obviously surprised.
"Wow Valens that was amazing! You really are strong!" Damaris complimented him. "No, I want you to pick it out, you won it I want you to pick it." She said giving Valens a grin. She wanted to have something specially from him to have something to remind her of him.

Alright, she was smiling so that definately meant that he had done well in the use of his powers. It couldn't be seen as him using his powers selfishly either since he wasn't trying to win for himself. He glanced over at the prizes, tilting his head to the side, ears turning forward. Hmm... what should be pick out for her? There were a lot of cool things here among the prizes.
He gave a happy sound and then walked forward to pick up a pretty necklace. It was on a metal chain and the tear drop thing hanging off of it looked to be made of some sort of shiny stone or maybe glass. He couldn't really tell himself. All he was sure of was that girls liked jewelry if the television could be believed.
"What about this?" He asked of her.

"It's really pretty Valens!" Damaris said with a broad smile. Valens had been so kind to her, he really was a good friend. She was glad she ran into him at the lake a few weeks before, even if she did get all upset with him to begin with.
The necklace looked really sparkly and interesting. It reminding her of the rainbow from the day they met when some light shone through it.

The horse boy flushed a bit, tail swishing behind him. He turned his attention to undoing the clasp on the necklace and then held it up, "I can put it on you if you want." He offered but held it in such a way that she could take it if she preferred.
This seemed nice to him, a calm moment in the middle of a chaos of people, noise, games, and rides.

Damaris started to get that funny feeling in her tummy again as Valens offered to put the necklace on her, "Th-Thanks Valens." She said pulling her hair back and stretching her neck out so the horse boy could put the necklace on.
The man at the game stand chuckled a little bit at the sight, "So you were playing the game to win something for your girlfriend? That's sweet kid, don't get chivalry like that around here anymore, here, keep your tickets." He said handing out the tickets Valens had used on the game. The two seemed to paint the picture of a couple in the carnies mind, he probably had no idea how awkward he just made them feel.

Valens blinked a couple times at the man before his ears laid back, face going pretty red, "G-Girlfriend?" He murmured, seeming to have a bit of a hard time getting out any other words and logical thought escaped him for a moment. He gave a little laugh after the stopped up gears in his brain started to twirl again, "Ah... haha, naw. Damaris is to good for a guy like me."
He was pretty sure she could do better then someone who'd had a parent and a few teachers who labeled him as not being the sharpest tool in the shed.

Damaris blushed quite a bit herself at the mans assumption as well. Her stomach got that really weird feeling again. She seemed to stay really quiet while Valens tried to explain it to the man but then when she heard him say she could do a lot better then her, well, it set off her temper.
"Wh-What're you talking about Valens!" She hollered at him suddenly, "What do you mean I'm too good for you! How could you think so lowly of yourself?!" She continued to chastise him until she realized she was yelling and pointing her finger at him, and that her face felt like it was on fire.
"I mean...just...don't sell yourself short Valens..." She said recoiling a bit and looking down hoping she didn't scare the boy like she did the first time they met.

The horse blinked a couple times, ears turning forward and he stared at the girl. He wasn't able to help it, there were a limited number of people who said such nice things about him and thought well of him in that manner. His mother who didn't count since she was his mother, Mr Tsuzuki, and Z... most others just seemed to think him slow.
He tilted his head to the side before he smiled, "Thats so nice of you to say." He told her, tail swishing behind him. It would seem as if her kind words meant more to him then the fact that she had been yelling at him.
