Shrapnel peppered off of Athan's armor as he turned his left side towards the Director, keeping his right hand on the hilt of the Destroyer, fingers bordering on a white knuckle grip on the weapon.
If there had been any knuckles, or any white for that matter, on the hand in the first place.
"In two seconds we can increase efficiency by .34 poi-"
"Time's up."
Athan surged forward as though he were shot from a cannon. He didn't know what was going on, he didn't care. This guy was blabbing a little too much for his liking, and let's face it, missiles weren't exactly very high on Athan's tolerance list.
Halfway into his charge he loosed his sword from its bindings in the shadesteel armor. The black sword coupled with the armor matched the decor of the factory pretty well. Athan's face was marked with the intensity that only Athan could show.
Sword in his right hand, Athan took a long step to his right at what could have been the last possible moment, a small explosion rocking his torso, denting the armor there and splashing his face with shrapnel. A number of cuts opened up on his face, but neither of the two seemed to slow him down.
"YAAAAAAAAAH!"
His sword came down to his right hip, left hand moving across his body to secure his grip on the sword, and Athan aimed to skewer the Director straight through his robotic chest.

"MORE POWER_" Even if he was cut off it'd still that.
Unfortunately for Athan he hadn't fought enough zombies to realize what kills them. Even more so the Director was version 2.0. The only defense the robot would make would be to turn slightly and prepare to outstretch it's arms. The sword wouldn't pierce dead center, instead hitting slightly off to it's right side. The sword would pierce through and through, but the director would take advantage of the fact that would slow Athan a bit. Arms thrust forward claws, now glowing red, would be aimed at each of Athan's shoulders. Not only would that be a jointed area, but the claws were strong enough to at least pierce.
Athan also didn't know about about mouth lasers.
The director's mouth wouldn't just open, it would goddamn unfold as Athan charged. More red glow as the mouth was quickly charging a massive bast. So if he could shoot the regular blasts from its fingers... What could the director have.
SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!
And there came the massive mouth laser right into Athan's chest/neck area. A continuos beam of force that would likely push Athan back at least ten feet even if he planted his feet. And if he resisted more, the energy would tear at flesh and armour.

[9] (After recharging for two posts)
And it was about now that Allen would show back up, sword in hand, black wings furled. And with the robot distracted, and apparently charging a laser, Allen had to do something.
Besides, Athan was a partner right now.
So with the director distracted, Allen would make a simple move. He'd fly right at the robot, and swing his right gauntleted fist right at the Directors face, slamming into the side of it and hopefully knocking the laser blast away before it hit. And keep in mind, this was the upgraded hand. So spikes and all.
"I am tired of these ******** robots!"

Athan knew, well, he knew one thing about the zombies. The one he had killed was pretty weak to decapitation, the only problem was, this zombie...or robot, or whatever, was a little too tall for Athan to have a huge leverage advantage. Still, he was in a bit of a bad way.
This sort of situation called for something beyond Athan's own normal strength. This sort of situation called for the spiritual strength an Anima Artifact could offer. This sort of situation called for Judgement.
Athan's right arm, the Arm of the Dreamless Sleeper, swelled slightly, as it relinquished its grip on the Rook's Destroyer. The inky substance that made up his right arm spread throughout the shadesteel armor. His entire arm basically turned into a hardened metal club, and as the reddened claws punctured the plate armor, only the one aimed for his left shoulder would draw blood.
"KEH!"
Athan winced, pulled his right forearm to the inside of the clawed hand piercing his shade armor on the right side, and pushed outside, tearing the clawed appendage out of his armor and out of his way as he recovered by dropping his arm and retaliating with a sitdown uppercut delivered with enough force to shatter a jaw as square as Athan's own. Whether or not that was on par with a robot's jaw was a bit of a question, though.
Thankfully Allen's arrival was timed so that Athan would be striking moments afterward, buying Athan enough time to actually prepare for the uppercut instead of getting blasted by a mouth laser.
Assuming he was freed of the robot's grasp, Athan would step back and rip his sword free from the Director's torso.
"What, there's more of these things?"

The laser missed it's mark, and beleive it or not Allen did a fair amount of damage between the spikes and anima ability of his gauntlet. Athan just so happened to have a powered up anima gauntlet too! It was a goddamn one two anima punch. Being so close Athan could see it's eyes flicker.
Of course there was that MORE POWER cry, and new machines had lined up as well. From the clouds a extremely potent lighting bolt to hit the Director right in the back. Not only would that electrify the Director and whatever was in contact with him, but it was also chain lighting. It would bounce out of the Directors chest and hit Athan with concussive and electrical force, and then bounce to Allen to peg him in the wings with a slightly weaker blast.
Still the Director's suit and body looked kind of toasted, and with it's head damaged it stumbled backwards a few steps before falling in a heap. Of course it was still sparkling... and apparently magnetized. Black cloud and machine fell on the director with surprising speed. Zombie parts, wheels, gears, and smog all began to form a shifting orb around the Director. The sound of mechanical change was in the air.
And then, as expected, the orb exploded outward showering the others with unused parts.
The Director was changed, that was for sure. The suit was gone exposing all it's skeletal robot parts... and so was most of it's right side where Athan had pierced. As were it's legs. The director was now on tank treads rather than legs, still had the missile pod on it's shoulder, it's right arm was replaced by what appeared to be a very very large energy cannon, and while it's left was still an arm it was beefed up... And holding Athan's sword.
"Sullivan, I am not done yet! This factory will finish your commands_" It hissed, "INCREASE PRODUCTION BY 1000%, MORE POWER, THE WORLD WILL BE SWARMED!_"

"Sullivan? The owner of Cat's cradle, and the guy responsible for those robots in Carter City? Now that explains things. I thought he was dead."
Oh yeah, lighting shock. that kinda hurt, but at least he got the least bit of it. It still made him pause for a moment though, and twitch. Once Allen was grounded again though, feet on the ground, the twitching subsided and he stood up straight. He looked right at the Director, sword held in front of him as he began charging energy into it.
"As a Knight of Anima, I will NOT let you and Sullivan use the world for your own devices. I will destroy you, and then destroy Sullivan once and for all."

Xehart travelled a long distance towards the factory in the clouds, and finally he was here. It took him a few seconds to take in the scene, a large robot was fighting with two humans. Humans. That was all that Xehart needed to know, clearly the humans were the ones at fault here, trying to stop whatever was happening in this place.
The being in bone armour looked at the small group, and raised a bone covered arm, and pointed a finger towards the robot.
"Metalloid, we need to talk."
With that, Xehart began to walk towards the crowd, his swords already drawn, although he doubted very much that he would be using them in this fight. Most of his combat would most likely come from his body mage abilities.
As he approached the small group, he began to size up Allen and Athan. If either of them got in the way, Xehart was prepared to attack one or both of them. He couldn't let the metal being be hurt, he needed him.

Athan was launched back, understandably so. He was hit by lightning, temporarily paralyzed by the shock and then taken off his feet by the explosion of machinery and lightning. Flat on his back and temporarily stunned, Athan couldn't do much other than groan as smoke rolled off his torso. That, coupled with the unnatural effects the field was forcing on him seemed to finally be showing an effect on the big guy.
By the time he got up to a single knee, he bore witness to the Director's upgraded form, and just sort of left everything hang on a blank stare at the formerly semi-human robot turned into semi-human tank. To top it all off, that tank was holding Athan's sword. It didn't even really matter if the Director could use it or not. Athan was pretty partial to that weapon, particularly with how efficient it was in smashing and destroying things. Things like the monster he was facing right now.
"Doesn't matter..."
Athan was slow to rise, looking wounded and tired, but not out of the fight by a long shot. His shoulders were slumped forward slightly, his body hunched over, and his right hand was balled into a fist while the left looked as though it was fighting to resist doing the same.
"Now I'm just gonna enjoy tearing you apart with my BARE HANDS."

Off to the side anyone could see the increased production. Robot zombies were being put together at an alarming rate, but it seemed the orbs used to power them couldn't keep up. For every orb there was at least three skeletal robots for ever orb. Thus one would descend down as normal, unfortunately the other two would free fall.
"Talk? THERE IS WORK TO BE DONE?_" Any calm earlier was gone, "We are falling behind schedule. Dropped at least sixteen points. What will Sullivan think?_"
What came next could only be considered a barrage. Firstly missiles, the last three, one on a course to each of the combatants. Then came that bigass cannon. It would fire slowly, but he was able to get off at least two shots. One at Athan, and one at Allen who seemed to to be scolding him for being two evil. This wouldn't be a heat and force blast. This would be more along the lines of an actual cannon, with quite a bit of explosive force behind it as well.
"MORE POWER_"

Athan needed to act, and he needed to get close enough to start pounding on the Director. Two things that weren't exactly easy to do when missiles and a big a** cannon were being fired at you. Athan managed to gain about three feet before throwing himself to the side of the missiles, but just as he recovered and started back in towards the Director, s**t happened.
Athan was caught square in the chest by the energy blast. The armor on his breast plate crumpled inwards, smashing against Athan's torso and crushing the air out of his lungs before he was sent hurtling backwards, head over heels.
That said quite a bit about the force behind the energy cannon, because Athan weighed close to four hundred and fifty pounds with his armor on, and he was just blasted to kingdom come by the tank.
Exeunt, black swordsman, to the District of Steel.

Yeah, missiles. They'd be great, if Allen didn't have his sword charged up. Using the theory behind the blast he'd used earlier, Allen swung his sword, sending the cutting energy blast right at the missile that had been heading towards him. It would blow up a lot closer to the Director than it would to him.
He didn't even know about the cannon when he launched himself into the air, but if the explosion didn't shock the Director enough to delay that it likely would have been avoided just by going into the air anyways. As it was, Allen was already charging another blast in his blade, planning an aeriel strike while Athan took care of him on the ground.
The other guy would be ignored unless an attack came from him.
And...oh s**t, Athan was knocked out of the ring. Ah well. Allen knew how tough Athan was and figured he'd be back.

Xehart didn't exactly know what a missile was, but he knew that when something is travelling towards you with a great amount of speed, the best course of action is to get out the way. Pushing off with his legs he managed to jump and roll away to the side.
As he landed he noticed he stopped his fall a little less than he usually would. That's quite odd for someone who has complete mastery over their body. That was when Xehart realized, there must be some sort of effect over this area too. Xehart quickly scrambled to his feet, and reassessed the situation.
Somewhere in the chaos, the larger of the men had been carried off the cloud. That was a shame for him, Xehart was just hoping the fall killed him, or at the least dealt a fatal injury. In the mean time, he turned his attention to Allen, who was in the process of attacking the larger robot.
"NO!"
Xehart seemed very panicked about this. He quickly threw his swords to the ground, and began to form two small spikes of bone in each of his hands, making them so that they would snap off easily once formed. So, when they were made, Xehart brought them too his hands, and threw them at the flying figure. The first one was aimed at where Allen was now, and the second was aimed for the direction Allen was moving in, hopefully one of the projectiles would strike down the flyer.
As soon as he'd thrown his spikes, he began to grow more from his palms, he couldn't have the robot hurt, he needed him, he needed him for his mission.

One missile wouldn't do much as it couldn't follow the jumping dead man, the other would blow up right in the Directors personal space. Minor damage at most, but it did make the large blast list.
"Efficiency rising 13%_" The robot began to calculate, "One less target - 16 additional percentage points - Yes, talks_"
Then a series of strange moves, his arm cocked back right into the air, and then as the more power signal pre-told, a generator floated down behind him and just started pumping energy into the Director's back. Arm would come down at suprising speed and sent the sword FLYING like a buzzsaw towards Allen.
Then tank treads would start up beginning a slow move forward. The generator would float behind, still attached to the generator by a tether of electricity. The cannon arm seemed to start to glow and arc with electricity as it charged. Something was coming.

Well now, this was gonna suck.
Allen avoided the first of the bone projectiles just because he was moving, but the other one wasn't able to be avoided completely. So now Allen had a hole in his left shoulder, with someone else's bone poking through as he bled. On the bright side, this would cause him to falter in his flying and drop closer to the ground, meaning the buzzsaw sword would go right over him.
On the downside, as Allen tried to maneuver, his energy charged sword would come into contact with the electricity tying the generator and Director together. The unexpected addition of energy would cause the energy to go boom, knocking Allen's sword out of his hand, shocking Allen, and causing an explosion between the sword and the electricity.
Needless to say Allen would be knocked back, slamming into the ground at high speeds. Still, he would slowly start to push himself up, pulling the bone from his shoulder as he tried to stagger upright.
"You killed all those innocent people and turned them into those ******** zombies...I am not going to let you kill me before I wipe you out..."

As Allan dropped to the floor, Xehart was already coming towards him. As soon as Allan landed, Xehart threw his second set of projectiles, both were aimed for his core, one for his heart, and the other for his stomach, unless he was wearing some sort of armour, in which case, Xehart would throw at the most obvious unarmoured zones.
It would only take seconds before Xehart was upon the human (?). As soon as he was close, Xehart began to throw bone cracking blows, ironically with his fists of bone. Two spikes also began to form along his armour, a form of fore-arm spikes. Xehart intended to use these as weapons, they would be formed very quickly, and as soon as they were, Allan was in trouble.
