Arvis_Jaggamar Sakyh This is for you SuperJawes: X-Play's website E3 is approaching fast, folks--it's only a month away--so the rumors and information drips are coming in. Today's drip: Nintendo intends to make "core gamers" happy at E3. They want you to know it's not just Soccer Moms who love the Big N. "We recently announced the upcoming release of Mario Super Sluggers," said Marc Franklin, director of public relations at Nintendo. "Additionally, we will be announcing several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3." We have no idea what titles Nintendo is showing, but when we find out, we'll let you know. they got this from GamePro apparently: Gamepro: Nintendo to core gamers- "We will be announcing severeal new titles at E3"I hope they're not implying that Mario Super Sluggers is a "core" title... *shrug*

I interpreted that as them saying "Additionally (as in 'also') we will be announcing several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3." Meaning it's not one of the "core" titles. DK64 sequel please?! (no bongos please...)

Well...concerning that it's a non-so-gimmicky Mario sports game, it could be part of that. After all, Mario Kart and Tennis are loads of fun, while still being Nintendo-distinct titles. HOWEVER, I doubt Nintendo would release Mario Baseball, Tennis, and Golf (or two of the three) during the same quarter, so the "core" titles could be coming from other Nintendo franchises like Zelda, Pikmin, Donkey Kong, or Kirby. All of which have potential to avoid the mini-game scene and produce a full-fledged adventure.

Although I'm not too concerned since I have an overwhelming amount of games I am playing these days: 1) Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) 2) Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP) 3) Mario Kart Wii (Dreamcast.... just kidding, Wii) 4) Folklore (PS3) 5) Civilization IV (PC, yes I am playing a PC game. I am ashamed.) 6) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3) Sooo... yeah, I don't really need them to release anything too soon.

Now, though, I make sure that the places for input are easily found on the front of my TVs, even if I have to unplug something once in a while.

PS3 through HDMI, Wii through component. It's a nice setup.

I really don't expect much out of 2008. There hasn't really been much good stuff on the 360 and PS3 (other than Battlefield: Bad Company, GTA IV, and MGS4) and good content on the Wii and DS have been close to obsolete. To be honest, I didn't even expect much out of 2008 to begin with. I knew Brawl was gonna be the same as Melee, I knew GTA IV and MGS4 were going to become mountains of cash, and I knew most of the new IP's wouldn't deliver. The only game I find myself actually being surprised by is Battlefield: Bad Company. Can't wait until it comes out tomorrow. Let's just hope the next 6 months of 2008 can deliver something good. =/
