She looked up at the sky. This was the same for her. She was going to introduce herself without anyone asking. "Kaze." She looked back at Sorren, her face staying the same unemotional look it had been when she'd first seen him and he'd seen her. She rested back on her tail. Slowly, she moved her paw from side to side in the water, creating ripples that broke her reflection in the clear water.

The rain just kept washing her pain and everything else away. Nothing held her back now. Still, here she was, able to do whatever she desires, but she lays there. It is her choice.

Sorren sighed softly and blinked as the angelic returned the introduction. The soft roll of thunder he had been so oblivious to before was brought to his attention. With lack of effort, he slowly pulled himself to his paws, the rain water making his fur feel rather heavy. He padded out of the rain, under the shop's awning, where he sat quietly behind Kaze. His sodden wings hung limply from his sides as water streamed down his fur and pooled around his paws. It didn't matter to him if he sat in the rain or not, but he perferred his vision cleared from the downpour. Kaze seemed so content in the rain. Sorren didn't understand how simplistic things could make one so at ease; he often felt the same in any situation. Perhaps it was past experiences that made people 'feel'. For instance, Sorren could've returned inside at that moment, but he felt to sit with Kaze. Was this feeling a desire... or a need?

Kaze felt no need to move out of the rain even though her fur was getting heavy and she was getting cold. Sorren had gotten up to be behind her, out of the cold, wet, rain. Something was urging her to join him, but why? No matter, she listened. She stood and ran under the shop's awning. She shivered and that impaired her speech. "I-I-I... I'm c-cold" Did this have to do with Sorren or was this totally unrelated? So many questions remained unanswered.

His dull eyes turned on Kaze as she too moved from the rain. The demon's outer appearance showed no signs of being affected by the chilling water, though he could feel his body temperature dropping quickly. Eyes lowering at Kaze's statement, Sorren brought himself to his feet. Normally, he would have shrugged off such a remark and let the fox be. But something about Kaze made him change his mind otherwise. Wing tips lazily dragging accross the concrete, he brushed past the angelic, passing what little body heat he had left, and padded boredly to the shop door. He nudged it open with his muzzle, blinking at the soft embrace of warm air before casting a side glance to Kaze, as if waiting.

As he passed, a small shock of warmth flew through her body. She took a moment to breathe. Kaze didn't want to go in the shop, but she wanted to be out of the cold. She nodded to Sorren and flicked her ear in thanks. Her first few steps faltered, but then she got in just fine. She looked around, peering through her wet fur. With one glance, she took off and flew up to a long ledge. It was very sturdy and wide. She lay down and stared at Sorren.

Sorren stepped in after Kaze. He blinked upwards as she perched on a ledge near the ceiling. He looked at his wings uncomfortably and climbed onto a low-laying Japanese-style table. Stretching slightly, he lazily shook water from his forelock and sat down. Sadly, the demon had never flown before. Maybe he could if he tried, but he had never found the need to fly. Kaze probably didn't care for him to be on the ledge anyway. He turned, surveying the shop. It was quiet and empty, an uncommon sight to behold. He had seen a multitude of foxes gather in the shop, many of which had families by now. "Family..." he whispered to himself, not realizing he said it out loud.

She watched as Sorren lay on the table. He's never flown... she thought. Kaze sighed. Would she go down there or try to get him up here? He reminded her of her brother and she actually wanted his company for that reason. But there was another reason that she wanted his company, but what? This bugged her, not to know. She made sure she had his gaze and then she looked at the spot on the ledge then at him, flicking her ear just a bit.

"No family?"

Sorren watched as Kaze motioned to him a spot on the ledge. Should he attempt to fly up? He may make a fool of himself, but then what did that ever matter to him? Unfurling his wings warily, the demon gave them a small beat, blinking as he lifted into the air breifly before floating back to the table. He tried again, this time gaining more feet into the air before gliding to the ledge. His front claws dug into the wood and, with a push from his orange wings, he scrambled over the edge. Perhaps it wasn't the most graceful asscent, but at least he tried; something Sorren rarely considered. He lay down, tail curled around his front paws as he veiwed the shop from a different angle.

He turned his attention back to Kaze when she inquired him about the 'Family' comment. His silver gaze searched her eyes for a moment before lowering his glance to his paws and shaking his head slowly. Sure, he knew Shade, but he never really considered him a brother. "...you?"

She looked at him and the tip of her tail flicked a bit as to say good job. "One.... my brother... I... don't know where he is though..." She hid her face so he couldn't see. "You." she turned back to him. "You remind me of him. Not so much your personality, but he's a demonic fox and he cares for me." She shook her head. "Maybe you don't care for me, but I get the feeling... you do." She lifted her head and realized how close they were and she immediately back up.

Quietly, she rested her paws on her tail, which was curled around her. "Try flying more." She thought about his attempt. Kaze gave him a look. "You're not so good at it."

Sorren blinked at the small praise. He listened carefully as she spoke about her brother and took note of how she looked away when mentioning him. Perhaps it'd be wise not to provoke the subject... He tilted his head at the truth behind her next statement. He looked away momentarily as she expanded the small space between them. So the feeling that he couldn't comprehend when he sat with Kaze outside... was care? It made sense the more he thought about it. But what had it been about her that made him feel so? He slowly opened his mouth to speak, but unsure of what to say, he released a small sigh instead.

The demon was lost deep in thought as he nodded subconsciencely at the angelic's remark on his new-found weakness. He glided to the floor of the shop, tilting his wings to preform a slightly better landing. He tried to shake the questioning of new emotions inside his head and focus on flying instead. He practiced near the ground for a bit, mainly gliding from table-tops. When he landed on the counter top, he positioned himself at a different degree and took to the air. His landing on the ledge still seemed a bit off as he nearly lost his balance, but somewhat smoother than last attempt. He didn't care if he wasn't the most perfect flyer; he thought it best to stick to gliding for now anyways. "Better?" he mumured, unaware of the first time he ever asked for someone's opinion.

Kaze was slightly taken aback. No one but Mizu had ever asked for her opinion before. "Uh... yeah... much better."

Slowly, she noticed how hard she was straining to keep her eyes open. She wanted to be back in the rain, but it was cold, so she was somewhat glad to be indoors. She let out a sigh and tried to get comfortable. Kaze realized she had lay her muzzle on Sorren's neck. She had to admit she was very comfy, and he had soft fur. Yawning made it so much harder for her to stay awake. Not lifting her head, she peered up at him through her forelock hair.

Sorren gave a small, curt nod in thanks. It felt strange, these opinions and gestures that he never used before... Was it Kaze that made him act differently? It must have been, but he couldn't figure out why. He blinked as her muzzle brushed up against his neck. He didn't mind though. It was as if... she gave him comfort just by sitting near him. He closed his eyes in thoguht and remained silent for a while. "It must be nice..." he murmured, soft, silver eyes looking back down at hers. "...to have family."

To be honest, she felt different with Sorren but didn't know why. She smiled a bit as she struggled to keep his gaze while she fought of slumber. "Yeah. He watches out for me." Sleep was taking over bit by bit, and Kaze was losing the battle. "Don't leave me, Sorren," she whispered. Even softer she spoke. "You're my first friend..." Now she had broken the gaze, afraid of his reaction.

Sorren folded his wings and curled up closer so that her muzzle wouldn't fall from the support of his neck. "No," he spoke softly "I won't leave so long as you don't want me to..." He promised sincerely. "Why would I ever harm my closest friend...?" His gaze lowered as Kaze began to enter slumber. He whispered softly as the rest of the lyrics from the song he thought of before spilled into his mind.

"We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
they're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?"

His voice drifted as he too began to lose consciousness to the depths of sleep as well. He wasn't sure how it meant to Kaze, but that one song contained more meaning to him now than he would have ever imagined before. For once, Sorren felt what it was like to care for someone. And though he may not have fully understood why, he knew someday he would.

She whispered. "Thank you..." Her red eyes fluttered and closed. Thoughts were racing around in her head. Why does he make me talk and feel so different? I trust him... the first person I've ever trusted since it happened. I don't see why he is...

Mid-thought, a nightmare of her past flew into her mind. She screamed and shot up. Tears were in her eyes and her ears lay flat against her head. She rubbed her wing, letting tears fall.
