You guys are gonna hate me - I only ever played it at one gradiation and I don't mind it. LOL, its repetitive but sorta catchy and after too many times it would suck but i kinda like it. I cant say why....

Pomp and Circumstance should be burned, shot, burned again, and buried 12 feet deep in a pile of horse crap. 3nodding

I actually really like the song. God, I'm such a loser.
I always liked the tune, and the flute part I played wasn't bad, because we did get to rest a bit.
I played it all three years I was in high school, before I myself graduated.

I'm in middle school still, but I play with the highschool on stuff like that. So, yah. Played it for the first time last year, it was living torture. I never want to play it again. XP
Not only did we play it through for one part of graduation, we played it again at the real graduation.
And, I was so short I could hardly see the BD at all. I had to lean to the side to see his left hand.
And we repeated it twice!!!

My whole band hates the song. We got excited this year, because our BD made us try a couple alternatives, so we didn't have to play P&C... But we ended up having to play it anyways. -__- I've been playing it for 3 years now. Even though I won't have to play it at commencement this November, since I'll be a grad, I'll still have to listen to it and my fingers will probably be fingering out the notes as I sit there. xP

I hate it. Played it for 3 years, and I'm so glad that I won't have to play it this year.
There's going to be barely any basses this year, hah. The two of us who play bass clarinet are graduating, one bass guitar, but we have three, the bari sax who doesn't suck at playing and I may be forgetting someone. The band isn't that big for 3 grades anyway.

in my sixth grade year, the advanced band had to learn pomp and circumstance in two or one weeks before eight grade graduation. when it came to graduation we didn't even have to play it because the graduation director chose to play a recording

all i have to say is that we have over 700 kids in our average graduating class.
sound horrible--here's the catch: we only play P&C twice, as the seniors walk onto the football field. after that, we just sit there for four hours in full suits in 80 degrees.
NOT FUN!

we call it pompous circumference.... lol
Edit: And we have counted, we play it 16 times. The time it takes for everyone to walk in and sit down.

Ugh, I hate that song with a passion... We played it all through high school, although after my first year, we convinced the principal to move the ceremony faster. People came in through about 6 doorways, we only had to play the song twice. It was amazing. Now I'm in college. Everyone comes in really, really slowly, single file, and stands around. We had to play that piece of crap song for 30 min, not counting the recessional, which we also played pomp and circumstance for (because we're lame and we don't have any real recessional music). That took...IDK, 15 min or something. Stupid song. And then we only played through one section, so it was really, really repetitive. I lost count of how many times we played it.

Our graduation is tonight, and we just learned it today. One hour of rehearsal. We are getting there early(5pm when grad starts at 7pm) so we can have a full band rehearsal. I am a freshman, and already I hate it. The song is pretty cool, but it is stuck in my head, far too easy, and my band can't play it. Plus, it goes on forever, and ever, and ever, and ever. Someone wrote on the bottom of the original I used "over & over & over & over & over again" neutral

i had to play it (on flute) two days after getting braces my sophomore year. the graduation was so boring, and we were sitting so the crowd could see our stands so we couldn't bring books or text. xp
