Healer shrugged, only half there. She was trying to reign in her thoughts; too many half memories were hovering on the edge of her consciousness, distracting her. Sternly, she aligned her thoughts, focusing only on the here and now, all of which lasted the duration of Kel's pause.
Healer blinked slowly at Kel's compliment, startled. "Well . . . Thank you. Everyone usually things I am sarcastic and . . . not nice . . . ," she said, continuing in a mutter as she wondered why her vision was suddenly blurry. "Euphonious, euphoric sound?"
Emy paused. "Um. He does know English is her . . . third-ish . . . language, right? Oh, never mind, looks like she figured out." The cosplayer looked away from the action at Kary. "Man, you do change a lot."

Grinning, eyes closed, as he was thanked, Kel continued. "You might be sarcastic, but I suppose that's one of the things I like about you." Just as he was about to dip his head and take another drink from the bowl of tea, he noticed the tears forming in her eyes. "Healer...?" He said tentatively. "Is there something the matter?"
"What are you talking about...?" Kary asked, now behind a red and black helmet with Cerberus heads floating around her. "I don't know, but yeah, looks like it doesn't matter... I have the sudden urge to tell you to be more specific..."

"No," healer said thickly, idly wondering why her voice sounded strange. "Why would there be anything the matter? Everything is . . . wonderful . . ." She swallowed, staring at her tea, dimly realizing that while it didn't feel as though anything was wrong, something strange was happeniing, nonetheless.
Emy blinked. "I don't know . . . Maybe it had something to do with cake . . . ?" She looked back at the two, continuing, "Well, I have the sudden urge to thwack you over the head with my pipes, so let's call it eve- Ooo~, good part!"

"Well, there are reasons besides sorrow that make people tear up..." He said. "It's possible to cry from any large amount of emotion, whether it's sorrow, joy, anger, or fear." Kel paused for a moment, thinking over his words. Not wanting to insinuate anything that might upset her, for example unintentionally implying she was a scaredy-cat or full of rage, he added, "Or perhaps you've got some sort of allergy?"
"Smooth, Kel, tell her she's got allergies." Kary said behind the auxiliary binoculars. "If Healer is anything like me, she's going to start obsessively touching her nose to make sure it isn't running." The black and red clad girl let out a laugh. "Healer like me, there's an absurd thought."
