This is the culmination of years work- at least, i'd like to say that. When the Zurg came to Gaia, and left behind the portal to their homeworld, we sent in some recon and made a duplicate of the device. While we haven't been able to get to the zurg planet, it does allow us to get to several other destinations in both space and time. Travel is instant, though, the first time you go through, you might feel a little cold...

Each destination requires a certain code, or an address, you might say. If we don't know their address, we very well can't go knocking on their door. Make sense?

The portal energizes, and the massive ring comes to live, spewing forth energy in a giant bubble, before falling back to itself and stabalizing in a vertical blue puddle
That, is the gate to Terra.

Nalini entered the portal after the Captain, and felt an icy chill blow across her.
'I thought you said a 'little' cold!' she cried, rubbing her arms.

After they both passed through, the energy from the portal arched once more, before collapsing and falling silent, having deactivated. The gate to Terra was now closed.
