Last week my great aunt Sophia died. Last week my life was normal, fine, and calm. Last week on Friday I inherited a doll from my dead aunt Sophia. In the morning when I opened the little steamer trunk that held the thing the first thing I notice about it was its curly hair and cracked face. I didn’t notice its eyes or the way they seemed to follow people. I didn’t notice the broken lock on the side of the trunk. I didn’t notice its clenched hands with its pointy little fingers. I didn’t notice its twisted little grin. As usual my mother was nagging me that morning with Ella you should do this and Ella that bla bla bla. Giving me advice about all sorts of things that I didn’t even care about and telling me I should keep in touch more often. I really should have listened to her; now looking back I think it would have helped. Actually there are a lot of things I regret now. I got home at about noon. There and then I made my first mistake. I put it away in the hall closet. I went into the kitchen to start my lunch and when I looked back in the hall there it was, hanging out of the door. I thought it fell and sure enough when I looked the trunk was also on the floor behind it so I dismissed the whole thing and replaced her to her trunk. That really should have been my first clue, because I’m not usually that careless. The rest of the day was uneventful and so I was lulled into a false sense of security. The next day I awoke and went into the front room to watch the news. To my shock and dismay there it was, sitting on my couch, staring at me with its ugly little grin. My mind blanked and I knew it shouldn’t have been there. I began to tell myself a story to calm myself down. Maybe I took it out last night to keep me company. After all I liked Aunt Sophia. We shared a rapport that she felt was lacking with her own children and I didn’t have with my mother. It had been a long day so I must have forgotten. I put her back in her trunk and went through my morning routine. I had errands to do that day and so I left it alone in my house. I really shouldn’t have left it all alone in my house.
more to come. (my creativity has been tapped for today)

OMG no, you mustn't leave an evil doll alone in your house!! gonk It'll make long-distance calls to China and Australia all day long, flush all your chocolates down the toilet, leave all the lights burning and crank the AC to max all day, squeeze your toothpaste tube in the middle and send porn spam to everyone in your email address list! scream
