Aya walked slowly off the boat, keeping her face forward. She noticed other students running around and playing with their 'gifts' as if the island meant the priviledge to use their powers to the highest extent. Which, she guessed it might be, but she certainly wasn't going to go around killing the beautiful scenery here. Or worse, the students. She walked along the grass quietly, heading toward the building she was told to go to. "Building B." she said softly as she walked inside. Hesitantly, she let one hand go of her suitcase and placed it on the wall. Nothing. She stared, puzzled. She tried harder. Nothing. Instead, she began to feel a little weak herself. She took her hand away. She suddenly felt a surge of annoyance. This was something she couldn't 'kill'. Suddenly realizing her own process of thought, she shook her head and began walking towards the room that would supposedly have her name tacked on the door. She should be happy she couldn't destroy something. But even so, she felt slightly trapped. Finally getting to her room, she set down her suitcase on the bed farthest from the door and began to unpack. Her room seemed nice enough. It had a desk to do schoolwork, a closet to store clothes and shoes, and a bed to sleep on. It even had a small window. "This doesn't seem so bad," she tried to convince herself. ~~~~~~~ Stepping foot ouside, she sheilded her eyes from the sun. It was certainly hot here, but she wouldn't complain. She'd been exposed to hotter temperatures. Or rather, experiments. She began walking towards the small woods, completely passing the cafeteria crowded with other people. It wasn't because she was avoiding anyone. She just wasn't hungry and there was a nagging emotion telling her to go 'try' it out there. She passed a boy reading, but didn't choose to bother him.

She was finally here. After all the plane rides and the boat trip she was finally at her new 'home'. She knew that almost everything she needed had already been shipped here previously and was sitting up in her room (or so she hoped) and so the only thing she carried with her was a backpack that she had had since the 6th grade. She gazed around opened mouthed at all the other kids roaming the grounds. Kids that were just like her....well....sort of. She wasn't sure how many of them would self combust when they got to nervous.
She grinned scruffing up her half fire half copper curls that were up in a knot on her head before walking boldly forward to explore this new place. So many thoughts running through her head at the speed of light. Will they like me here? I wonder what kind of powers she has. I hope I make some friends...what if they don't like me? She was so terribly paranoid about everything concerning what people thought of her. Her tick went off causing her hands to shake and twitch as her walk increased in speed as she went along the grass. Ooo look at the gecko's runnin! Come back little geckos! Weeeeee!! She chased after the flickering little green things in the grass unawares of the body who was in her path.
Oh hey, theres a body there....wait, a body!? She noticed him to late and tripped from her running elation over him to land face first in the grass. She quickly picked herself up and dusted herself off and looked back at the boy she had tripped over. The fire in her hair turned a bright shade of pink and crackled noisely as she started to freak out her hands shaking even more. "Omigosh! Are you alright!? Did I burn you or anything!?" She couldn't remember if she had combusted or not.

Harmony opened the dorm to the room that was now supposed to be her's. She stood in the doorway for a moment, scanning the room. The color was pretty dull to her but she still felt like it was a nice room. It had what she needed and that was fine with her. Walking over to one of the beds, she gently placed all of her things on top of it. Not bothering to unpack anything, she began to walk around the small room. Harmony stopped at the other bed and sighed. She had never shared a room before, having such a small family. The short girl continued to walk around the room for a while longer before heading to the door. Though, before she opened the door she lifted her hands to her head and fixed one of the blue ribbons that matched the color of her eyes. It was tied around a little bunch of her dirty blonde hair, likewise with the same looking ribbon tied on the other side of her head. With the accessory tightened, she left the room.
Exiting the dorm building, Harmony took in a deep breath of the island air. She found the air to be pretty musty, but didn't care too much. Weather wasn't one of topics she cared for. Her plain light purple sweatshirt and dark jean short were good enough for her for the day, and that is what really only mattered to her. Stuffing her hands into her sweatshirt pocket, she began to walk. Not having explored the island yet, she really didn't know where she was going but didn't care. Her black sandals noisily flopped against the grassy ground repeatedly as she walked. It was a noise that Harmony had grown used to hearing seeing as she preferred to wear sandals most of the time.
Harmony kept on walking around aimlessly for a while, quietly watching all the people that passed her by. She noticed that some of the kids really showed their powers by their appearance while others looked just like normal people. Remembering her own mutatious powers, the girl reached into her short's pocket and pulled out a wrapped piece of gum. Coming to a halt, she unwrapped the gum and stuffed it into her mouth. As she began to chew it, she placed the wrapper back into her pocket. After another minute or so, Harmony finally came to the Cafeteria. Not feeling hungry, she kept walking.

Aaron groaned, sitting up and holding his side where the girl's foot had made contact. He contemplated ignoring her for a moment to see if she would go away, realized that anybody was bound to remember kicking someone in the stomach a bit longer than normal, decided he could do with the conversation and winced as he stood up, scatting geckos left and right.
"No, no... I'm fine. I take it you ususally do that, then? Burn things? So some sort of fire power..." He groaned again as stretched, holding his side again and cracking his neck somewhat. "As it is, I think I'll be fine. Just sore. First impressions aside, it's nice to meet you. I'm Aaron. Are... you okay?" He'd just noticed that the girl had fallen somewhat hard herself, and got a bit closer to offer a hand up.
Upon closer inspection, he found her to be rather odd. He also found this to be rather rich of himself, calling other people odd, but the part that had made the initial comment told the part that made the secondary comment to go soak it's head and that was that. She seemed charred all over, coal black, and her hair was imitating those cheap fourth of July sparklers in what he could only assume was embarrassment. She also appeared to be shaking; a mutation based trait, or perhaps your everyday tic? It was enough to be worth knowing, and he had nothing else to do with his time, so he continued to hold out his hand.

She couldn't help the grin that spread across her face as her eyes lit up that he was making a conversation with her. She nodded as his assumption about the fire and grasped his hand using it to help her stand up. "Y-yeah. I have a tendency to....combust when I get really nervous or...really anything in excess!" Now that she was standing she retracted her hand and he could see they had stopped shaking but would still occasionally twitch.
She noted that his eyes were moving, studying her and she shifted her hands starting to shake again. She herself was distracted by examining him so she didn't really hear when he asked her if she was okay. He looked so normal and shifted uncomfortably realizing how abnormal she must appear. She snapped back to attention and realized what he had asked. "oh, Oh! Yeah, I'm okay, s'fine really. I'm a bit of a clutz as you can see since I...tripped....over you. But, yeah, I'm fine." she paused and bit her lip wondering what she should do next. Name "Oh yeah!" She thrust her hand out to shake his, "I'm Arkell, it'snicetomeeyou!"

Riley was completely out of it, as usual. He walked across the lawn, staring at the cloud passing by. But when someone doesn't pay attention, it never ends up well. Thankfully, the boy was in full control of his power. One moment he was staring at the clouds, the next he was looking at the grass as he collided with a girl with dirt blonde hair and a purple sweatshirt. As soon as he fell, the boy panicked.
"Ohmygod! Are you okay," he asked the girl, worried he had hurt her because of his unnatural strength.

Aya blinked at all of the plants and trees curiously. Could she kill these? Or were they immune to her destructive ways as well. She tried to block out the thought that she would be angry if they were. She slowly reached down and picked a flower. Concentrating, she grasped it firmly. It began to wilt and grow brown, then turned to a dry black and fell to the ground as bits and pieces. Despite her efforts, she smiled. She continued to walk along the path, occasionally brushing her hand against a tree, causing tiny spots of rot. Because there weren't any people, she wouldn't have to be extra careful holding back her mind. She'd had a few accidents before, when she'd unintentionably caused someone to grow extremely weak. She hadn't meant to start sucking the life out of them. Most of the time, she could barely tell she was doing it. They just seemed to grow tired. But then, they had trouble breathing or couldn't stand and that's when it became a problem. At least they got better, though it took a few hours. She hadn't put any of the Accidents in critical condition. Aya finally came to a stop and took a seat under a random tree. She blinked her eyes sleepily. She hadn't gotten any sleep on the boat. She looked up at the sky. "This doesn't seem so bad," she repeated, though she meant it a little more this time. Against her wished, she slumped over on the grass. The grass wilted somewhat as it touched her skin. As soon as her head had landed onto the ground, she immediately fell asleep.

He silently wondered if it was the effect he was having on the girl that was causing the forgetfulness or a mere lack of social grace as he took the hand and pulled, trying to help the girl up onto her feet. Perhaps some combination of the two...or perhaps the fall had knocked her silly. Either way, he simply smiled in what he hoped was a good natured fashion.
"It is, as I said, nice to meet you. Aaron. Aaron Leerup. You sure you're okay? You hit the ground a lot harder than you hit me, and it isn't like the ground is nearly as soft nor your head nearly as hard."
There. He'd done it. He'd made a friend on his very first day... that would forget him within the hour, if that. The thought depressed him somewhat, his grip loosening for a moment before he realized that it really didn't matter, since she at least knew him right now, and that if she needed help he ought to do it whether or not he'd gain a friendship out of the matter. Though he was a bit larger than her, he still didn't think it would be a good idea to try and walk with her alone to the medical area; spotting someone nearby, a somewhat dour looking lad in a protective mask, he shouted and waved.
"Hey! You! Do you think you could give me a hand? Need to help someone to the nurse."

Logan had paused in his travels to the cafeteria to examine a few groups of people. Not being one to socialize extensively, he was a watcher of social groups. He happened to catch sight of someone tripping over another, or more like bumping into them and then sort of falling over. A blond guy and a blond girl. Consumed in that for a few moments, his attention went downwards, where a pack of geckos looked back up at him.
Just as he'd been about to kneel over and observe them more closely, remotely deterred from getting food at the crowd he could see around the cafeteria, someone called in his direction. Looking around momentarily, he was amused to find that some other form of couple had fallen over each other. It was an odd day, for sure. Of course, and the asking for assistance did seem quite aimed at him.
Standing up straight, he wondered what help he could be as he slowly trailed over, examining the scene of the accident a little more throughly. "What happened?" he asked softly, British accent ringing through despite the fact that he hadn't been home in at least a month. "Should I go get a nurse, or something?" He didn't seem very inclined to physically help, but he knelt near, anyways. "I'm Logan Ernst, by the way."

"What, no! I'm fine honest!" She said waving her hands infront of her. She looked over at the other boy coming over but frowned when he got close enough and knelt down. She crossed her arms across her chest, forgetting for once about her self consciousness around people and frowned at Logan. "I'm not that short..." she said rather sourly a pout coming over her face. "And I'm Arkell, Arkell Lavanya." The pout disappeared to be replaced by a smile before she spun around and faced Aaron. "And really I don't need to go to the nurses office. It was just a little fall, I shall be fine, really." She was calming down around them and her hair color had returned to it's normal fiery color.

Aki headed to the trees, not thinking someone else would be sitting against one and reading. She, like just about everyone else in the school, promptly tripped over his leg, falling to the ground. "Sorry, you okay?" she asked, moving to where she was sitting and not in a graceless heap.

"Aw fudge. Yeah, I'm fine."
The boy wasn't angry, but had been taken by surprise. And now his brown eyes were red, and the world was all a blob of warm-blooded humans and blue objects like the grass. Lois rubbed his eyes desperately, before sighing and sitting back. He kept his eyes closed for a second or two, and re-opened them. Thankfully, they had returned to their normal color. Lois looked at Aki.
"You ok," he asked, pushing a stray lock of brown hair from his face.

"Fine. It just sounded like I hit a lot harder." Aki replied with a faint smile. "What's your power? Or mutation or whatever you wanna call it?" she asked, notcing his eyes changing color.

"Changing eyesight. From the wonderful, normal human eyesight to infrared this time. How 'bout you?"
The boy noticed a chill surrounding the girl. Also, she had not pulsated dark red like regular human beings, but was actually yellow and red. Lois could only guess her mutation had to with cold or ice. He smiled, closing his book and setting it down on the damp grass beside him.
