>>Trust him? Trust him? She just met him, she didn't even know his name! A jerk in the sunlight silenced her thought, and a chill gripped her heart. The light dissapeared completely<< Hey...hey! >>A piercing scream<< HEY! Let me out! HEY! HEEYY! >>Again and again, the sound of screams echoed in the cramped crevace, resounding painfully into her sensitive ears. It was dark. So dark. Slowly her hands crept to her delicate ears, bending them slightly as she covered them from what she was hearing. Dual eyes shut tight, and her tail wrapped around her waist. An hour...two...three...a day? She didn't know. It just didn't seem to end. A hand gripped her arm, and the female screamed, getting yanked out of her hidding place<< No! >>Wait. Through blurry eyes, wet with unshed tears, she saw...the wolf? She scrubbed at her eyes as her legs gave out on her. She was trembling, head to toe...when had that started? She tried to will her body to stop...but it refused to listen<< I don't...I don't... >>She crossed her arms over her chest, golden fur now slightly tarnished with dirt. The female only flinched however, when she heard the sound of another, approaching<<

>>Bye bats! What the hell happened to him? That scent...it was the friend! He dropped onto one knee, allowing the mouse to get off. The male was panting now, body glistening with a thin sheen of sweat<< So...let me...get this...straight. The bats were...bad? >>He would have never guessed! And...woah! Female! Jeeze...the poor thing looked to be quite shaken up. Literly. Slowly the male stood up, nodding slightly<< looking at Chrys...Yeah. I can carry him if we walk. Running'll be faster...but I'm tired...and running would hurt him. >>Now he walked over to the wolf, offering his 'lets be friends' smile again. It was back down on one knee then, his back facing the one called 'Chrys'<< Hop on. I'm Kisten by the way! Pleased to meetcha!

>>She stayed silent all through the exchanges, not looking at anyone. It was okay though. She was okay now. Slowly she looked up at the wolf, her heart giving a guilty pang. Damn...she had been harsh on him. Slowly the woman stood, brushing off her knees. And she left her towel and dress back at the beach. Lovely. The female though, only looked at the bleeding male. He had been...protecting her? A man had...protected her?<< I can walk. >>Right back to the shop. But...just this once...she'd go with them, to their place. It was important, to see to it that he was alright<< Just was caught off gaurd. I'm fine now. Just...lead the way.

((Edited! =D There, we can still move more slowly getting there. Sorry about the rush.))

Chrys stumbled a little, then patted Kisten on the back. "Us dogs aren't meant to be ridden." he grinned slightly. "So get up."
He walked calmly beside Kisten, Jade, and Laz. He shot a glance towards the female and put a hand on her back. "Everything is going to be alright; they won't attack us again in a group. Bats usually are pretty cowardly."
He led her with his hand and smiled, then glanced at Jade who was obviously concerned as well. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna drop dead... I've got too much s**t to do."
Seeing Jade calm down he smiled; while Jade himself was still a little worried but he managed to stay calm. His tail trembled a little bit from the stress he was undergoeing and his eyes lingered to Kisten and he helped him up. "Sorry."
He apologized without reason and flushed a little for it. He felt like a fool, for yelling at Jade in front of his new friend. He had to give the idiot credit; he was noble in his own freaky sort of way. He'd saved him from a similar fate as hers, and he was greatful he didn't die yet.

>>He frowned worriedly at the others stumble, but slowly got onto his feet<< You sure? You look a little... >>He winced, thinking of a word<< Unsteady. >>The male fell into an easy walk besides the males, his tail swayed slightly in almost-happiness. The important thing was, that they were all alright. Well, alive at least. And that was good. Right? Kisten flashed everyone one of his best smiles<< Come on. If you'd let me, I'd like to make us all something to eat! Everyone likes meat here, right? I know. >>The female smoothly stepped out of his reach upon feeling his hand. She regarded him silently, her oddly colored eyes serious. Out of danger, her nerves were settling back to her strong-headed personality. Her voice dropped to an almost-whisper, just loud enough for the male to hear her<< You deserve every scratch. I could have handled things myself. >>Cold...harsh. She sharply looked away from him. Why the hell did she care? She could hide behind the thought that he robbed her of independence...But that...that wasn't why she was so...angry<< I've dealt with worse. >>She would have never forgiven herself if he died. Never<<

"Yeah, I like meats. Fish sucks though." he waved Kistens worry with a hand gesture, his focus splitting between him and Laz; Chrys initially let the sting of the females words penetrate his thick ego, but then regained composure shortly after. The imagry of her trying to take on the large vampire bats made his composure fail again; thoughts of her being throttled filling his head.
"Don't be stubborn. They would have eaten you alive, I mea- Ah..." he growled and held his side with clenched teeth. He pushed his ribcage back into it's place, feeling something squish in between his fingers. He looked at his wound then looked away quickly. "Ew."
Jade turned a worried look then thrust his eyes into the nearest object; which was Kisten's back. "Oh god... Ew." he thought he was going to be sick, he hated blood... but seeing an organ was too much. His tail quivered. "I, I'll... help with dinner..." he muffled his words into the jacket. "Miss, I'm sorry about him..."

>>He stuck out his tongue with a grimance at the fish notion<< No worries there. >>Then again, he loved fish. Then again, he hated fish...Feeling eyes on him, the hybrid glanced over his shoulder to meet the gaze of Jade. His body softened slightly, an innate sympathy slipping into his heart. He jerked his head slightly for the mouse to walk next to him. He had to get his mind off of things<< So Jade, whats your favorite meal? Concidering we're gonna be cooking buddies. >>He grinned fully, happily. Possibly the most laid back anthro out of the whole group<<

I bet I could outrun them- >>Squish<< Ew. >>Her nose wrinkled in disgust as her eyes found the wound. That...looked nasty<< Thank your stars that one sister is masochistic and the other is a ditz. >>Her eyes flicked to the mouse as she moved back towards the wolf, shaking her head<< Don't worry about it. I'm not squirmish. >>Then she straight on looked at Chrys as she took an arm and put it around her shoulders<< Lean on me. And don't you start complaining. I can get you stitched up when we get in, but the less stress on your body, the less blood you lose now. Fair enough? >>She was going to be all bloody when they got in. Ick<<

Chrys grinned a little, his teeth showing. "I wasn't complaining in the first place." he snickered a little at Kisten who's genetics must have been trying him; then snickered at Jade who looked absolutely mortified. "Sorry Jade."
He recieved an apathetic look from the mouse, "Well, it's not like it's your fault. I can blame the bats for that one..." he turned his head to Kisten with a smile. "I like mango pie and stew." He managed to smile a bit at the prospect of food, and having a partner in cooking for at least a little while. Chrys caught this and snickered more.
"So, what do you like to eat kitten?" he smiled over at the disgusted female and searched possibilities in his head. Tuna? Swordfish? Saurkraut?

Stew then. Beef stew. Soup actually would be best for our future patient. >>He nodded to himself, growing eager now<< Never had mango pie though before. Is it good? >>Better question, would his carnivorous body accept said mango pie. Kisten beamed at Jade<< I'd love to try your cooking sometime!

Just a warning. I don't take bellyaching. >>His blood was warm. Where the hell was this house they were talking about?! Wait. What did he...<< stressed >>She gently poked him in his wound, getting a subsequent 'squish'<< Don't call me kitten. >>Jeeze, give the wolf a bone and he went for the whole carcass!<< But I generally like fish. Ham...beef...I'm not too picky. Just don't give me Fancyfeast.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 17, 2008 2:03 pm

He blushed and flicked his tail. "Well, I can't say if you'd like the mango pie, but I like it. It's a sort of tangy flavor; I put keylime and whipped cream with mine, but it can be prepared with chocolate too." he smiled "Yes, Chrys should have soup... His organs must be sensitive from the beating; hard foods won't set well with him. So soup for Chrys and beef stew for the rest of us..."
Chrys whimpered at the poking at his open wound and then growled - biting back his anger and the urge to hit a girl. Even if it wasn't hard it hurt, and god knows he didn't need any added pain at this point. "Well, you don't have to worry; it would be kinda weird if a dog and a mouse kept catfood." he turned his head to look at Kisten, grinning. "But if that kitty likes Fancyfeast I'm sure Jade will be glad to bow down and buy some."
Jade sighed and shot a glare at him, "Of course I would, if he likes it. But that's because he's our guest, and so is she. Be nicer to her."

>>His tail swayed a little bit more. Jade was cute when he blushed. He should blush more often<< I like tangy. >>Sometimes<< But I'd have to go with keylime. sweatdrop Chocolate makes me sick. >>All the time. He loved chocolate, but chocolate didn't love him<< Sounds like a plan. Maybe just some mild, sweet chicken broth soup... >>His eyes widened at Chrys, a little startled. Already he could see this going in a bad direction<< Hey... >>His ears swiveled slightly in discomfort<< Be nice. To the both of you. Its been a rough enough day already.

>>She ignored his growl and pretended not to hear him until 'kitty' slid from his smooth lips...She poked him in the wound again<< No need to become insulting. I've kept from calling you a moronic mutt, or an insensitive pup. A speck of politeness will hurt less then me poking, I assure you. >>Her eyes flicked to the odd hybrid, her head tilting slightly in natural feline curiosity<< What exactly...are you?

Jade squeaked a little bit in fear of the growl he heard escape from Chrys; this one was loud. He meant business now... His natural instincts were kicking in. His eyes widened as he saw Chrys grab her wrist, and swiftly hold it up away from his wound. His face in a snarl.
"For what it's worth, I'm a wolf. And in case you haven't noticed that hurts." he pulled away from her and limped on his own. "I'm not a housedog, I won't bow down to you or anyone else here."
Jade frowned a little and spoke a softer tone, "Please stop you two..."

>>He opened his mouth, about to sheepishly responed when a swift movement grabbed his bright blue eyes. He froze, the hairs on the back of his neck standing as a low growl escaped him of his own. You don't TOUCH a lady like that. You NEVER touch a lady like that, no matter what<<

>>A gasp sounded from the feline as her attention was yanked from the hybrid to the mutt<< I noticed. But pain is the only thing pups respond to. Like a rolled up newspaper. >>She yanked her hand away from him, her ears flattening<< I'll take my chances with the bats, rather then be insulted further. >>And with that, she began to stalk off, her fur slightly bristling. She'd sooner be torn up like Chrys, then take another minute with a womanizer<<
PostPosted: Wed Jun 18, 2008 12:00 pm

Chrys scowled at her. "I'm not insulting anyone! I just don't want to be bossed around by YOU!" He limped past Kisten and huffed, his ribs still burning. Jade's face grew even more upset, and he followed after Laz. When he caught up with her he put a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Miss, please forgive me but... Would you please stay?" he bit his lower lip, his face flushing. "I know Chrys can be a jerk, but it's safer with him than being out here on your own. Besides, Chrys will be too busy dressing his wounds to bother you. And we do have a spare room for you."
He hoped she would say yes, but he had a feeling her reaction would be less than desirable.

>>He took a step towards the female as she stalked off, biting down on his lip before saying something he might regret. As it was, when Jade left, he gave Chrys a dissaproving look<<

>>A hand lighted on her shoulder, stilling her feet as dual-colored eyes lifted to the mouse. She shook her head with a soft sigh<< Never once, from the moment I met him, has he treated me with respect. He never gave a name before touching me...never asked permission. I am grateful for what he did...but when I try to help, me mocks me. >>The tabby slowly shook her head<< And so you have to understand...I just...can't be under the same roof as that man. Not until he can bite the bit and treat me like a man. >>As she hadn't seen him demeaning the Mouse or the strange hybrid. He was sexist...a womanizer...she couldn't be around someone like that<< I'll be fine though. Took fighting classes when a kit. >>Thusly, Lazereth flashed a smile, a real smile. A reward for the others polite kindness<< But...thanks. For caring.

Chrys gave a glance in Kistens direction and sighed. "Don't look at me like that catdog. I feel bad enough." he stared over in the direction of Lazereth and Jade, his own chest throbbing. Great, Chrysanthos, look what you've done now.
Jade hugged the female, his own breath staggering because of the tense air. "I know it might not mean much now, but... Chrys treats everyone like this, not just you. It takes him a while to warm up to people that are rough with him like you and I." he smiled up at her, his tail quivering. "It might not seem like it, but he really does care about you. I've never seen him put away his pride for anyone like he did for you, really."
He pulled away, with apologetic eyes and a flushed face. "You see, it was two years ago I got cornered in an alleyway; by cats. They had the worst intentions for me, and if it hadn't been for him... I..." he gasped for air, memories returning. "Dead... I would have been dead. But... He didn't take any abuse for me, he just ripped them up like they were nothing. He had too much pride, even if it was five to one. But... he took the beating for you. I'm not sure why... but he really does respect you, if he's willing to put his dignity down for you."

>>His ears flicked back before straightening again, nose wrinkling slightly<< Catdog? >>Well...that was technically right...His tail stopped swaying as his eyes looked in the direction of the dissapeared anthros. He felt his mood shift. Not again<< She was being a priss. >>The male yawned smoothly, a hand lifting to his mouth<< How far away is your place anyway?

>>The female stiffened at the sudden embrace, eyes wide. Slowly, she lifted her hands to his shoulders, and gently pushed him away from her. Lazereth was known for liking contact once in a blue moon. On her own terms<< He's got a funny way of showing it. >>She glanced in the wolfs direction, feeling the dregs of her anger slip back upon thinking about him<< I never asked him to protect me. I would have been fine. >>She looked back at the mouse, worrying at the inside of her cheek in thought<< But...if you REALLY, I mean REAllY believe he means well...I'll give him one more shot. But I swear, if 'kitty' is so much uttered once more, I'm removing his tongue. stare >>Perhaps one of the more frightening things about Lazereth was...she wasn't joking. Laz never joked with threats<<
