Ris shook her head before smiling a little.
"For curiousty sakes, how old do you think I look?"
It was something she had to know if she was to remain friends with this girl.
Dyvim shook his head. "And I thought I needed to get out more..." He joked gently. "My dear, I think you need to go on dates more."
A lot of things about Alex were surprising. he'd surprise a few too. Even without music to follow, he knew the familiar path to a simple waltz to which he led her through as though it was all second natured.
"I told you I was around a lot of sophisticated people. I'm not without some other skills aside from reading."

Amie paused. It was a strange response. "You look young. In your twenties. But... since you asked the question... you're not?"
Marlith nodded sagely. "If only I had a volunteer to help me with that." she couldn't help but grin again after saying it. She found herself smiling a lot more the last couple days. It was an odd feeling.
"I'm sorry," she said, pointedly staring at his shoulder so as not to meet his eyes. He moved with practiced grace, it was easy to lose herself. "I didn't really doubt you. Just... I'm a meddler, aren't I?"

Ris smiled.
"No I'm not, even though I appear to be so young. What is your take on a vampire?"
Dyvim smirked.
"Then perhaps you and I should experience the dating world together...maybe with double dates?"
he even offered her his arm so they could get going. No need to be late right?
Alex shook his head. "No....then again...I might need a meddler in my life...if just to keep me sane..."

Amie had read Anne Rice and Anita Blake before being introduced to the Labyrinth. Frankly, she found that a lot easier to deal with than than much of the rest she'd seen. Even more frankly, mostly from the Anita Blake books, she found it... exotic, romantic, and... well, erotic. But she couldn't very well say that now, could she? All this passed through her mind as her eyes widened. She almost said "cuuuute" but managed to say what she really meant: "Coooool. Really? You're not fooling?"
She took his arm gratefully, enjoying hte feel of it as her own wrapped around it. It felt comfortable. "I'm all for that. But, why double dates?"
Sam felt relief, then curiosity. "Well, now, that is exactly the sort of thing a woman likes to hear."

Ris grinned, revealing small dainty but razor sharp fangs.
"Lying's no fun, unless you're my twin, Rosealine. So yea I'm one of the real deal."

He shrugged. "Some are considered fun and I guess if one isn't used to dating, it's a nice way to ease into it or take single dating slowly."
He frowned. "I must be babbling now.."
Alex tilted his head to the side. "Eh it is?"

If it was possible, Amie's eyes went even wider. "Those are so cute!" she said with all seriousness. She even reached out to touch them gently though she stopped with her hand halfway there when she realized what she was doing, and pulled back sheepishly. "That's a good philosophy," she said, unable to prevent the sudden intrusion of show tunes songs into her head at the statement.
((I've read... uh... a little, not much))
Marlith nodded. "That makes sense. You're a pretty smart guy. Those books must do you some good." She squeezed his arm. "you're not babbling. I like hearing what you're thinking."
"Not so much that you need a meddler, but that you need something she does. Makes her feel appreciated and wanted."

She shrugged. "I prefer life rather taking even though I'll do it in a matter of defense."

He grinned and tapped her nose gently.
"I told you one can learn from a book and gain knowledge. It's just whether or not that person puts what they read into practice."

"If you don't mind old fashon lovey dovey I need you forever stuff, then I'd say I'd need the woman to keep my soul. If anything because of her returning feeling, color and my ability to keep my soul, I'd give anything for her..."

Amie faked an innocent, wide-eyed look. "So you won't hurt me?" she said with mock relief, then broke into a smile. "I've read stories, but, i've never met a real vampire. I didn't even believe there WERE such a thing till Bonnie showed me this place." she paused, not sure if it was bad form to ask the question on her mind. "What's it like?"
She wrinkled her nose and grinned, surprisingly pleased that he would touch her so playfully. "I was a fool to ever doubt you," Marlith said sincerely. "You're a good person, and it wasn't fair for me to insinuate you didn't know anything."
Sam kept him dancing, it was making her feel safe and disconnected from the world. "Girls like lovey-dovey," she said softly. "Not too constricting, but that a guy is capable of feeling it and expressing it. To willingly give yourself over to someone, that's something significant. It's a big step. We're none of us complete without another. But, to realize that, to accept it, and not feel less for it..." she trailed off. "You know that for this sort of commitment you'd need to hold her soul as well, right? Maybe not as literal as yours, but just as real."

"What's what like? Being a vampire?" She asked with a little smile.
"It seems we were both wrong on accounts with each other." He noticed, upon arriving at the resturaunt he'd wanted to take her too.
He gave a small, almost empty smile. "It's written in us....Over time our own soul becomes consumed by darkness....usually through vampire hunting, however I've never trained in such activities....but Generally with all the darkness, we need what's called our lifemate, or wife, to keep us sane without converting to a vampire.I seem to be an exception to that rule given I haven't entirely lost all feeling and have no color, but I don't feel wretched. Either way, I'd place her happiness above my own...what about you? You don't seem the type to be so lovey dovey...or do I assume incorrectly?"

"Well, yeah. I mean. In the books, there's a few stereotypes. The megalomaniacal evil count..." she hesitated and blushed. "Which you're clearly not... but there's the misunderstood counter-culture loner: sort of a vampirism as lifestyle or fashion justification. The tormented artist is another. Which, if any are you like? Does it hurt? Is it fun?"
"Then it's good we can get past it and start over like this," Marlith responded. "I'll give you this, you know how to handle a first date." she smiled warmly and waited for him to get the door.
"Oh, I can be lovey dovey as much as any girl, I suppose. I've just never needed to. It's been my business to help others with it. I've become so analytical. I'd need someone to give me reason to be mushy like that, I suppose. For myself, not over someone else's romance."

Ris looked at her. "I won't be offended...Dracula kinda was an oddball of sorts....but nothing like Cain...Cain was ruthless...." She shook her head, not dwelling on her estranged family that she shared bloodlines too.
"It depends...I've heard other breeds..er types, of vampires were around here. I suppose it's different for everyone. I was born a vampire and from a powerful family. It kinda hurts because you tend to outlive most of your friends...Otherwise some of the abilities are fun."
Dyvim grinned. "well....living with a french vampire with a best friend who's also french and takes his women to dates kinda helps." he said gently as he opened the door for her.
He frowned a little. "So your so caught up in helping others that you don't look at your own?"

Amie nodded. "I think I wouldn't have as much self control as you seem to have. I tend to act on impulse. If I could do some of the stuff they do in the books..." she grinned, thinking of it, doing a spin on the toes of one foot. "What's your favorite thing to do with your powers? and... oh, how do you eat if you won't kill?"
"A French vampire huh? Now that sounds interestings." She said. "But, while we're here, I think I'd like to hear more about you."
Sam shrugged. "It's fun to see people happy. I've never really thought about what I'd want or need."

"I don't have to kill in order to eat. I don't eat as often as others might, but enough to sustain me." She shrugged. "With all a gift there's a curse. My ability? Untypical of most vampires, I can heal another. I usually use herbal rememdies for small problems though..."
"Alright. You ask the questions and I'll answer them...as best as I can." He grinned, letting the host escort them to their table. In fact, the place they were at was owned by the said french vampire.
"Do you not take any time for yourself?" He asked.

Amie was probably more interested in the whole vampirism thing than was healthy, but she couldn't help herself. She had pointed out that she had little impulse control. "So you uh... bite, and drink, but then leave? You have volunteers for that?" She wondered at it. It must leave a person drained to give their blood. After all, donating blood to the red cross did, that's why they gave you cookies. "But a curse? She suddenly stopped again and looked Ris in the eye. How are you cursed? You seem kind. You're very pretty, you can help others. What affects you so?"
Marlith's conversation was caught short. She was sincere. Over the last little bit she'd built up a lot of curiosity about this man. But now that she was in charge of investigation, she wasn't sure where to start and questions left her mind. "Tell me about your family," she finally said. "Parents, if you knew them, siblings, pets, whatever." She wondered why she asked that. She didn't have any family herself, so she couldn't share anything if he asked in return.
Sam shrugged. "Take time and do what?" she asked. "I wouldn't know what to do if I were to spend time for myself."

She said softly. "As far as donators go, I always ask before I take or I find some blood bank and go there."
"I wouldn't know my parents. I've been with raven since I was an orb. So rather she's my parent I guess..Siblings, well you met two of them."
he shrugged in return. "Just walk along a beach or street, reading, biking.." He threw out suggestions.
