So... a plant is it..?
User Image

A finger tentatively prodded one leafy green appendage, if it could be called that, as amber eyes watched curiously. Was this REALLY going to work? Certainly he'd been desperate, slightly out of his mind really, what with her sudden decline in health. She'd suddenly lacked any warmth, not that she'd been warm before, any energy, and even the general will to live it seemed. Rather listless and pained in truth. He'd been truly concerned with the sudden change in the previously bratty child.

Even an offer with a new brightly colored hat hadn't caught the child's interest. Though it wasn't just that... no...

He frowned, recalling the previous days with a flick of his tail. No, it was when he'd actually sworn he saw her turn translucent a moment that he realized what might have been the case. Not that it didn't make sense, she didn't truly exist before did she? What with just wishing to exist and... doing so? How exactly did that work? It didn't seem to truly. So it made more sense that she'd begun to fade as her body began to deplete whatever force she'd used to 'be.' It was only logical it had happened...

Now that left him with this rather illogical solution. ...and a cabbage.

He was rather skeptical about it all, shoving what was left of the spirit child into a cabbage and assuming it would repair her, or well... give her a new body. And in short fix the damage done. She'd be her old self again. At least that's what they'd said and he'd assumed when he went. It was something of luck he'd found the place to begin with, perhaps something was on his side when it came to saving the kid. Ah well, best not to question it. He'd learned that rather quickly, don't question anything. He'd only get a headache out of it.

Shoving himself back up and glancing out the window at the morning sun with a yawn. "Tsk... even making me get up earlier to take care of this thing. You're always going to be a problem child aren't you?" He muttered under his breath before moving off to get some water for the plant...child thing. "This is on par with the stick, it really is..." He mumbled under his breath while walking, shaking his head in disbelief. "But at least it's not that 'magic' mumbo jumbo. Technology is so much more understandable." Oh yes, lovely pamphlets and the like. As weird as it all was... it made some sense compared to other things. He couldn't really ignore that fact.

A few minutes later he returned to the little product of science and dumped the water he'd obtained around it with little to no care. It was rather obvious gardening wasn't one of his strong points really, afterall... he was just following directions. Water plus sunshine meant a living kid. Or so they'd said. Beyond that he hadn't a clue. He flicked an ear watching it a second to see if maybe it would give some indication of he'd done it right, but with no real response the feline merely shrugged, and turned away. "Least you're quieter this way. I'll be back after work... tell Ichigo not to eat ya." He chimed before walking off, making sure to close his bedroom door on the way out. Oh yes, the cat would definitely have torn up the plant if she found it. She tended to do things like that.

Explaining... life?

"Mmm dah." The prompted response was given as the young child toyed happily with the few strands of hair within her reach. A moment of swirling her father's golden blond hair on one of her fingers before releasing it and beginning again smiling.

"Correct, and who are you?" The classic response of one working to ensure the child WAS infact holding onto her words. Afterall, what point was there to teaching Shaeria to speak if she couldn't remember it from day to day things. Constant reminders and chatting with her was the key, or so he thought anyway.

"Saheeeaa." The child mumbled, obviously fumbling with the sounds a bit as she looked up from toying with the locks of hair as the door was opened. smiling brightly at the sight. She knew the room quite well really, often coming to practice with her toys and such in here when it was noisy outside. Not that it had been too loud today, which brought some form of curiosity out in the child though it was soon forgotten as she was set on the bed. "'eeed." She quickly mumbled, bouncing a bit on it and ruffling the blankets as she did so while giving the caretaker a pleased look which only brightened further as the approving smile.

"Correct on both accounts." The man chimed, stretching both hands behind his bed. Perhaps they'd take their games to a new level today. A quick grin as he turned began speaking again. "What's the white thing that floats in the sky." There was a quiet pause after that as he glanced at the girl sitting on the bed. She was currently toying with the folds along her dress, head drooped in thought. Precious really, but when wasn't she? The child seemed to constantly be the embodiment of all that was cute. Unlike many children who drove him up the wall the girl was about as angelic as they got. Despite being from a stick.

Minutes ticked by at the girl tried to associate all the words and hunting for the correct one. Sky sky... that was the thing above and white... She narrowed her eyes a bit thinking hard before a sudden burst of pride spread throughout her. "Cluud." She practically beamed as she waiting for the nod that came shortly after followed by encouraging words as well as a new question. Again the child sat upon the bed, long brightly colored pigtails piling on either side of her as she hunched over in thought. Each time, though some took quite a while, the child managed to come up with a response on the mark much to her father's delight.

The game continued for a while before a sudden outburst from her caretaker drew the young gelflings attention. She watched bewildered as he suddenly headed out of the room before returning with a glass of water only to walk over and dump it on some strange plant. Giving the thing a few more moment of starring the child shifted off the bed before taking a few unsteady steps toward her distracted guardian, pulling on a pantleg as she finally managed to reach him. "Up?" The single word was enough to draw the attention she wanted causing a brief 'oh' before the child was scooped up once more into the man's arms.

A second later she found herself looking down at a leafy green object, fingers reaching for it curiously before pausing to tilt her head to one side. "Misseh." A quiet babble as she stared at the thing, unsure why the sudden thought of a certain pale blue girl had come to mind. Now that she thought about it she hadn't seen the girl for some days which made the occurance all the more curious. Not that she understood much about it, it simply made her happy.

Now that was interesting for Raja though, while he knew full well the thing was supposed to be Mistral, the fact the child had somehow realized it... "Oh, really?" He chimed, holding the girl down a bit to let her pet at the leaves, she did seem to enjoy touching things he'd found. Thankfully she was quite careful about it. "Well maybe it is, Shae."

"Mm..." The toddler chimed, smiling at the thing before her as she stroked at the leaves. It looked nothing like her at all, but it did seem to feel like her. That brilliant lively bit of her. Yes, this thing was very much like her sibling of sorta. "Misseeh." She concluded after a moment before pausing in her actions and glancing up to her caretaker.

Well then, perhaps that lab wasn't so crazy. Maybe this really had been the solution to saving the girl. He ruffled the child's hair fondly before watching the green thing again. "I suppose if you say it's her it must be, now don't you think?" To which he got a confused smile as the child didn't fully comprehend what was meant by the statement.

Pulling back with the child still in his arms he started off out of the room, shifting the child to one arm briefly to close the door as he did. "Well, I suppose that's enough practice for now. How about a snack?" He asked, waiting for the child to let go of looking at the cabbage to pay attention again. "Ms. Flopsy can come with how about that?" Which earned him an overjoyed smile at the mentioned of the girl's favourite toy as they continued down the hall. All was well enough in the house, and sometime it would truly be well again? At least that's what he concluded from todays little discovery.

Things Rarely Change

It was truly easy to reflect on the past when it always came back blaring in your face. Or so Raja was left thinking as he sat at the meal table, watching the two tots below. One with hints of pale white hair showing at the root of what was currently violet hued hair, the other as odd as usual with her pale blue skin. As well, as if only to mirror the past, she held a huffy pout on her face that just spoke of how she had been 'wronged' by the ever compliant child before her. Which had everything to do with the toy the gelfling was snuggling happily. The single one left with her as Mistral had already managed to steal away the others with tantrums for now.

Yes, nothing changed at all. Life and death experiences seemed not to phase the wind spirit, aside from the fact she'd seemed rather confused at first. Which in truth hadn't made sense to him either, why on earth would an infant be so confused about being alive? What did she have to question?

He tapped at his chin, watching the display continue on as the pair played, Mistral continuing to ignore her new pile in exchange for trying to steal away the last so it was all hers, and Shae being confused as to why her last toy was being targeted. The usual, always the usual. He shifted, drawing both sets of eyes for a moment before flashing a tired smile and watching the children return to their acts, afterall it was harmless. Mistral would forget the toys by tomorrow and once again Shaeria would have her treasures to enjoy.

Then something changed, rather than continuing the silent please with her looks that demanded she have her way, Mistral was up on her feet, still a bit shaking from adjusting. Afterall, she'd been just a baby before the cabbage, coming out over a year older had left them both a bit shocked, but it was more difficult for the child to adjust really. Still, there she went, on even with Shaeria in size now wobbling to try and take the object by force. Which wasn't nearly as harmless as before.

Quickly shifting to get up and defend the now confused child who simply sat as silent as before. "Missy-" He stopped as the pale blue girl did as well, giving him a curious look that asked what she'd done. Which took a while to register with the man, how could she not realize trying to take it was wrong unless that hadn't been her purpose. "Go play with the other ones." He offered, still standing up the chair from which he'd stood, one hand on the table waiting. He knew she understood, if anything she'd proven she wasn't a clueless child with previous antics. Being what had been a spirit suggested it as well, so she knew.

Another pout drew along the girl's features, this time rather indignant as if the accusation was unfair, fingers shifting to snatch up a length of the scarf and ruffle it as silver eyes searched the man's face for any sign of weakening, then she left it, wandering back over to pout in her own corning, not bothering to touch the hoard she'd already stolen temporarily from the every ignorant child before her. It was obvious she still pined for the single object she had yet to snatch away, as her eyes remained locked on it even as the other toddler played happily.

A low sigh, mainly from the fact it was a ridiculous display, came from the man as he slumped back down, shaking his head idly. Why Mistral strived to obtain thinks she cared nothing for always bewildered him. She had what she wanted, yet the moment she had it it meant nothing, or so went the usual pattern. Now, if anything, there was one change. Perhaps the size meant she had greater means of obtaining what she so desired...

Which didn't seem to be all that good in the end.

Meeting One's Match

Games would always be just that, games. Especially when it came to children. Everything from screeching to get their way, or bouncing along to that catchy tune on TV was a game of some form. At at least that was the idea behind it. It made things so much easier to forgive.

But such games only came into account with humans who thought about such things themselves. So they were, for the most part, dismissed by all other things. This included pets.

Which led to the great sight of the day.

The child who always won, no matter the means, and the cat who didn't honestly care for anyone's nonsense. The enchanted child was easily drawn in by the brilliant hues of the animal, such lovely pink stripes, the animal was simply there for the meal of the moment, cold dry cat food. So the misunderstanding was evident from the start. The girl had instantly started to tumble over, in a less than graceful fashion like that of her opponent, in hopes of claiming the feline for her own. And the cat had given her a scathing gaze that sent most household inhabitants running to send her packing. Which little luck.

Not that Ichigo wasn't swift of paw in moving from the bowl, up to a counter to look upon the creature still upon the ground, but now using a cabinet to aid her in standing one hand outstretched toward the beast, with a new annoyed air. How dare the thing below her, such a scruffy thing, get in her way. And now it dared to show such a face to her!? She the queen of this household was given such a look? What a daring little insect indeed!

Not that Mistral cared what indignities Ichigo felt she faced, for she too was rather scornful of the cat. Dodging away like that, how dare her property even think such a thing. One hand swept the air above her again, clawing unsuccessfully at the space between herself and the striped pink thing above.

A low grumble escaped the child as she watched the things tail flick to and fro, seeming to mock her as she wobbled to one side a step, then back, her eyes narrowing at the figure. Then came the attack, the low sweeping paw for a second before it ran along her hand leaving a few small, shallow red marks which caused her to halt her latest flinging reach and fall back to the ground clutching at it a moment at the sharp sting. And then it registered fully as she ruined any quiet, and sent the thing scampering own the hall, with a rather loud, undignified wail. Whimpering on the ground a second later as the nearest adult, that Tai fellow, showed up to lift her up, asking the usual question of 'what's wrong?' that all adults did.

Not that any of the mumbled chatter she offered really made sense between the tears, it was the scratches that gave it away. Which led to a few words.

"You really shouldn't play with that cat..."

Which, in it's own way did stop the entire tantrum she'd been having, a defiant pout suddenly overtaking her face. Not play with her? As if she'd give up on beating a foe that easily. Far from it, she'd best that kitty yet, just... she had to think up a better plan.

Pickiness Knows No End

Fingers tapped along the table before her as she eyed the various figures. Lyn, Eren, Shae, those two dragons, and the usual nanny. The usual, aside from the fact Lyn hadn't forcefully drug Eren out to the park or on some excursion. She didn't particularly know the details of those, though they did appear fun to some extent. Not that Eren didn't look a wreck everytime it came up.

Still, a difficult group to have fun with, seeing as the gelfling brat folded, the two twins were too old and Lyn would take it too far, and the dragons... well one bit. And she wasn't good at catching it to punish it yet. Which left just one person at the lunch table to lord over and show her superiority to.

Tai, good natured, a tad lethargic during the day, and general caretaker of the kids when no one else was around. The poor sap stuck with trying to fix something everyone would eat. Including the tiny dragons that where half napping on the girl's head.

Continuing to drum her fingers on the table Mistral watched quietly as the figure turned, placing a neatly cut, he had a lot of practice, sandwich in front of the winged child. Sizes were about right for her too, and a simple favourite. What child didn't like PB&J at that age? Then a couple of plates for the twins, seeing as how the agreement was that Eren kept Lyn in her seat so neither of them had to worry about Lyn trashing the fridge trying to cook. Though the chaos might have been a little interesting to watch, she had to agree she preferred not having mayonnaise land on her head somehow. It looked like a salad of sorts for Eren, and something.. similar, but not really for Lyn. All apart though, because upon being handed it the girl before to tear through it looking for anything suspicious in her paranoia. That was normal, as always.

"You're sure there's no mind parasite from the aliens, I can sense them they're in here they snuck it in."

"Lyneas, there aren't." The main pause was caused by Eren having taken a bite of her own lunch, eyeing her red colored sibling out of the corner of her eye. "Just eat it."

The banter continued as Tai turned again and moments later set a plate of tiny pieces of meat on the table, probably leftovers chopped up, for the two dragons to eat. Which they quickly dug into after flying down to the table from their perch.

This left only herself to be fed, and she knew why. While Lyn was paranoids she usually ate her food, whereas rejections where common on her part. Simply for the fact that she wanted something else. Which explained the look she was getting now, a general 'What will it be today?' stare. Not that she knew, she'd know when she got what she wanted, so the standoff began. Certainly he knew better than to offer anything someone else was eating, that would never work. So they left him with the other things she was able to eat.

A few things were offered by via package suggestion. Canned soup, some cut up veggies, the list went on as she continued the bland stare of rejection wordlessly, afterall both knew it was useless to talk about it. It lasted about five more minutes before she made the mistake of showing actual interest in an item and gave away the game. Afterall, it did look tasty in it's own sense. The sumer heat had various fruits were more fresh than usual, and who could turn down all those colors and flavors knowingly? Even if she had to now pout internally at the thought of ending the game so fast, not that she didn't enjoy the rainbow of selection before her a few minutes later. Neatly sliced with just about all the colors on her scarf.

She'd have to let him off easy just today, he had done a decent job. There was always tomorrow to play the game again. At least, that was the thought as she selected a slice of strawberry and tossed it in her mouth.

What's Mine is Mine, and What's Yours is Mine

"It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake,"

Fingers tapped at the arm of the couch, an obvious sign of boredom from the child. It was a popular episode, but an overused one, that was on today. One she'd seen one too many times, seeing as Lazy Town was her favorite show at the moment. As much as she loved watching it, this was one too many, and it was time to find something else to day.

"if the way is hazy."

As the song continued along as always, she hummed the tune while slipping off the couch. A second later her feet hit the ground, little black boots clunking back into place from the position of having partially slipped off, she did enjoy shoes being overly large most of the time, and started along across the floor.

"You gotta do the cooking by the book, you know you can't be lazy~!"

She quietly shimed in along with the song for the last line as she toddled out of the room, seeking some further form of entertainment. Which first came in the form of the rather long eared household inhabitant. One brow arched slightly as she peeked around the girl's door as she watched. She was digging around in a pile of clothing, all colors, apparently looking for something. But what? And why didn't she have that many outfits?

She waited a moment longer in silence before stepping in, arms swinging back behind her back in a fake form of innocence as she moved in to round the girl for a better look. Still attempting to be quiet, though the sudden swerve of the rabbit's ears showed she'd failed.

"Mmn?" The noise was issued as Harle glanced over her should at the other pale blue skinned child, a pale orange dress still held between her hands as she looked A moment later her tail twitched slightly as she wrinkled her noise and tilted her head. "Needinsomethin'Missums?" She babbled out in a single breath, the words rushing together in a near incoherent babble. This time it was an ear that shifted briefly at the head shake she got in return. "Thenwhyyaheremmn?" She added, turning and move forward as she dropped the dress into the pile she'd made of rejects for her outfit of the moment. A moment later she paused as a light bulb seemed to appear above her head. "AH! Youcametohelpmechooserightright?" She shouted, stepping forward with a bit of a hop as she grabbed her siblings hand to drag her forward, only pausing at the sudden resistance she got.

Rather than be tugged along Missy planted her feet, bracing herself as the other child pulled briefly at her arm. "Only if I get one." She called, her voice demanding as she eyed the pile. At least it would shift the outfit collection a bit more in her favor. Even if it was still uneven.

The concept puzzled the rabbit briefly as she seemed to ponder it before once again a realization dawned on her. "OHOH! Dressuptooyes? Thatmakesitmuchmorefun!" If it was even possible her words had become more jumbled together the more excited she got at the idea, once more tugging the other child a moment before practically bouncing back to the pile and digging around in it. "Youlikebrightstuffrightright?" She called, finally procuring a rainbow striped dress not too unlike the scarf around Mistral's neck. Though the shades were far more muted than the bright thing she wore daily.

The sudden acceptance took Mistral a bit off guard, not that it showed for more than a second, or two. Perhaps longer, not that she'd admit it to herself. Still, she tried to hold a stern look until the child managed to dig up that precious gem of clothing. Simple, no sleeves to bother her, and such lovely shades. She nodded a little at the words, quite used to the way her sibling spoke as she inched a few steps forward and quickly snatched the dress, tugging it to her chest quite happily while the rabbit merely beamed and began digging again. "It'll do." She offered, attempting to hold some indifference.

"GOODGOOD!" The girl called happily head already nearly buried in the mess on the floor. "Nowhelpmefindmine!" She'd already began shoving things around, one top in hand as she attempted to hunt for a bottom, not realizing the girl behind her was shifting a few steps back again.

"Bottom of the pile skirt." She offered, merely allowing a quick look at the pile, no longer that interested in the mess since she had what she wanted. Though she had said she'd help. If only a little.

"Mm?" A bit more digging and she tugged up something that seemed to match the description given, a simple demin skirt that reached to about the girl's knees. "Thissun?" She offered, glancing behind her to catch a quick nod before back to the skirt. "Guessitmatches." She continued, eying it a moment longer before nodding to herself. "Nowwebothhavesomethintawear!" She hollered cheerfully, beginning to pull on the top and skirt before bothering to turn toward the other, this time finding an empty spot. "Hnna?"
