"Oh...uh...no thank you" Ran responded, "I'm...not that fond of dark places." Getting lost in her thoughts she watched the same butterfly she'd seen earlier, its black wings with a single joining emerald stripe fluttering gently as it examined the painter in search of a landing place. After a while it landed on her snout.

Seraphina gave the merdrac an odd look. "You want me....to go swimming? Well that's an odd thought." She glanced at Ran who now had a butterfly using her as a landing pad. She giggled softly. "Well it seems Ran that you are trusted enough to be a resting spot...." She moved towards the merdrac and her watery home then and eyed her. "My feathers do just fine in water. They are water proof you know..."

“ Not goin’ to be very dark wit’ Missus Fire Feathers here, but it’s yer loss.”
Shaking her large head, she returned her attention to the approaching Aviadracus.
“ Water proof fire feathers? Might-y useful, dat. Speakin’ o’ which, where is dat little blighter…”
Trailing off, Alvilda began to look around, obviously look for something. Not finding it, she huffed, then released a series of loud clicks. A couple moments later a brightly colored Dire Owl spirit appeared, circling the Merdrac’s head a few times before perching on her shoulder.
“ n’ where have you been, ya’ great flyin’ rat?” The owl squawked indignantly, giving Alvilda a sharp n** on her head fin.
“ Ow! Watch yerself, bird brain, you’s in dang’ous waters. Now, say ‘ello to dem two.” Alf turned, eyed Seraphina and Ran, then let out a cross between a hoot and a wolf-whistle, earning a clawful of water from Alvilda. “ My apologies. This cur ‘ere be Alf, a creature wit’ more guts den brains.”

Ran blinked at the butterfly, then gently prodded it off. She then looked to Alf, who's loud cry had startled her. "Its doesn't seem very friendly" she commented quietly, avoiding its gaze. Its large, unmoving eyes made her quite uncomfortable.

Harly hears some loud noises from up onher perch on the mountain. He tries to ignore but then Quinny starts acting up. He swoops down to see what the noise is. He spots a couple Sandpainters, each of them different. Quinny, who is latched on to Harly lets out a squeek at the dire owl. Harly swoops back up to his perch and ignores Quinny's excited squeaks.

Aya swam up to the the shore near Alvilda and Serephina. "Konichi wa!" she trilled at them in a foreign language.
Seraphina blinked at the other merdrac who came out of nowhere. "Well..uh...hello?"
Aya looked at Alvilda and smiled.

Grendel lifted his head upon hearing the arrival of others. One was a decidedly odd looking dragon, boldly colored and possessing only four limbs.
‘ How on earth can that thing function with no arms?’ he thought idly, before turning to see the other newcomer. ‘Another water-dweller, one and one that isn’t civil enough to speak in a way that others will understand.’
Unimpressed with his discoveries, Grendel promptly laid his head back down. Alvilda, who had been watching him, rolled her eyes before looking up.
“ Swoop an’ run, eh? Why don’ ya’ come down ‘n be so-cial?” Called Alvilda, Alf hooting loudly as she spoke. Shaking the Dire Owl off its perch on her shoulder, she turned to the other arrival.
“ Well, ‘ello dere! What be a “coneechy wah”?”

It had become much too crowded for her liking, thus Ran took the sudden commotion as a good opportunity to leave. "Pardon me" she said, and then quietly made her way into the jungle. She hadn't wanted to leave so abruptly but she had something to attend to that she wanted done before too long.

Harly peers down. He doesn't really want to go down but he wouldn't be getting much sleep really. Noisy wretches. Harly swoops down and and lands on a tree. He wasn't comfortable at all, so he wasn't about to land on the ground. Quinny pops up over Harly's shoulder and watches keeping a careful eye in the dire owl. Quinny settles his wings and then points to Alvida, Aya, Seraphina, Grendel, and Ran and in turn simply states "You both weird, but I can understand one, you're weird colored, you're weird too, and you're running away." Not the best way to make friends but still his way.

Seraphina eyed Harly. "Well excuse me.....sorry I don't look like a freak like you," she snapped at Harly with a haughtiness that wasn't there before. She folded her wings and ignored Harly.
Aya gave Harly a funny look and then glanced at Alvida and sank lower in the water. It didn't help her much that she had a habit of speaking in a foreign tongue sometimes.

Nashwa had decided to get out and about, having spent a while in seclusion to study up on her abilities and things in general. She loved her cavern but too much of a good thing gets tiring. It felt wonderful to be able to spread her wings and sail upon the winds once again. She hadn't been noting how far or where she was going but she soon caught the scent of a gathering of Sandpainters, only one of which was familiar. "Grendel," she mused to herself.
She found herself curious as to why he was alone in a cluster of stange and varying scents so she simply angled her wings and began a wide, slow spiral down to where she could see him. Nash landed some ways off, not liking to just drop in on people, as in her mind she thought that quite a rude gesture. She folded her wings and stode forward, warily looking over the gathered dragons with white glowing eyes.

A daily run through the Jungle of Sleep had rapidly become habit for Malachite, as soon as she discovered the sprawling sea of vegetation. She favored the borders -- just far enough in that the growth tangled and thickened, making it a veritable obstacle course, but not far enough to intrude upon what she suspected to be a village of some kind.
Leap left around a gnarled trunk, flatten herself to the ground and tuck her wings to dart below a root that arched upwards like a gate, onetwothree quick strides to propel herself up a steep incline... Shades of hunter green and deep moss rippled on her sleek frame, blending in smoothly with the verdant world around her. Her sharp golden eyes, though, betrayed her -- those were in constant motion, scanning the path ahead. She would never understand those who preferred flight to running... True, there was nothing like the thrill of twisting into a freefall only to snap one's wings out at the last moment, courting death and mocking gravity, but there was something so assuringly real about the feel of the ground beneath one's feet. Besides, the routine exercise was a source of pride; it kept her in peak form, in case of... well, anything. Shifting her weight, she pivoted and bolted in a new direction, intending to skirt a particularly dense clump of vines --
-- and suddenly, there was sunlight through the trees, and the sound of voices. Malachite didn't slow immediately, startled and carried forward by her own momentum, though her gait shifted to a long lope, then to a trot and at last a walk as she exited the jungle altogether. It seemed there was a collection of others... All kinds, too. She could even spot a pair of heads poking up out of the lake. Head and tail held high, she picked up a bit of speed again, approaching at a brisk but not overly enthusiastic pace. Best not to slink off like a thief, if spotted in another's territory -- always own up to your actions. Move like you mean it. That's what her elders had always told her, and that's what she would do.

“ Good-bye Ran!” called Alvilda to the vanishing Sandpainter. The other had been quiet, and rather shy, but decent enough.
“ Aye, I’m weird, that be true. You come a bit closer to me ‘n I be glad to show you ‘ow weird I can be.” Returned Alvilda to the Wyvern, golden eyes glinting as she spoke.
“ You have no arms, no manners, and worse linguistic skills then that of a teenager, and yet you have the audacity to call me “weird” ?” Growled Grendel, sitting up and glaring at the Wyvern. “ I for once find myself in agreement with the water pest. Please, come down at get to know her more… intimately.”
Alvilda’s attention had wandered elsewhere once Grendel began to speak. Her attention first turned to her fellow Merdrac.
“ You’s not gonna answer my question? Dat’s not very po-lite. Well, ‘m Alvilda, by the by.” Introductions done, she briefly eyed the fiery Aviadracus, surprised that the seemingly upright female would resort to such puerile insults.
‘ Hah! Take dat, Grendel! I c’n use yer big words.’ Basking in self-pride, her thoughts were interrupted when she became aware of two new arrivals.
“ Greetin’s! You come to join dis ‘ere party?”
Turning to see what Alvilda was talking about, Grendel dipped his head slightly upon seeing Nashwa. While he was not well acquainted with the gray female, she seemed decent enough.
“ How do you do, Nashwa?”

Harly just snorts. "I'M weird you sixed legged Sandpainters." Harly wants to goon. He isn't the social type mainly holing up on his mountain but curiosity go the better of him once again. How do think he acquired Quinny the chirping like fiend. It wasn't by choice for sure. " What do you do with your front legs while flying? Do just let them dangle their? And you water ones. You can't fly? At all? How fast can you go in the water? Why do you know a different language, Do you travel across the world?" Harly keeps spewing questions at a rapid rate. His curiosity is insatiable and loves learn, he wants to make a collection of what he learns eventually. He leans forward in curiosity and his wings gesture wildly with his questions, frightening the shy churrep.

Nashwa blinked at being addressed so informally. She gave a slight and partially confused nod. She sat down nearer to Grendel than any of the others. He was a familiar face in this gathering of varied and interesting individuals. She was craving the feel of company of some sort and the buzz of the group had an almost electric feel, which felt good after her isolated stint in her home. The gray female wasn't usually one to seek out the company of stangers, but after the quiet of her den the distraction was very welcome.
Nash returned Grendel's nod, a small smile on her face. She wasn't terribly familiar with him, but she saw him around and knew of him. He seemed the decent sort so she would treat him as he would treat her.
"Hello, Grendel. I am well. Feeling a bit...in need of company, but fair overall. What about yourself? How have you been fairing lately?"
