Haruhi just stood there, blinking as rose petal fell off her head and onto her nose before falling to the floor. She couldn't do or say anything, so much in shock. "What... just happened?" she finally asked, her voice calm and soft.

Hikaru stood clumsily, shaking his head and holding it together - it seemed - because his twin was laughing enough for the both of them. "Tsk Tsk... such messy hostesses we have, eh, Kaoru?" He looked down at his brother before turning a cat-like eye toward the two girl... watched them for a moment as the sunlight through the windows caught the glitter... then Hikaru Hitachiin disappeared again behind the couch as he collapsed into a fit of uncontrollable laughter.

Alcy couldn't help it, what with the combination of the glitter and rose petals and the sound of the twins laughing hysterically: she burst out laughing herself, gripping onto the sides of her stomach as she keeled forward for a moment, before walking over to the couch the twins were laughing behind and walked around behind it, standing over them with her hands on her hips, still laughing. "You two..." she snickered, "You two are both dumbasses."

Laughing still, Kaoru had to take a moment to catch his breath, watching the girl standing above them. "I... If we're... dumbasses... then why... are you... laughing?"

Alcy covered her mouth to hold the laughter back, struggling to contain herself. She managed to return to a straight face and stare down at them blankly for a full five seconds before bursting into a fit of giggles again, bringing her hand to her mouth again but not covering it. She grinned mischeviously down at them as she snickered in spurts. "I guess because I'm a dumbass too."

Haruhi continued to stay where she stood. She raised her hand up to start brushing away the glitter. "Is this your idea of a joke?" she asked, her voice still level and calm as she brushed herself off. "It's not very good. I would have expected better from you two."

Kaoru stopped his laughter, sighing softly. "Come on Haruhi, it wasn't meant to be a bad joke. It was just supposed to be a little funny. Its okay to laugh at it. I mean, look, even Alcy found it funny!"

Haruhi shook her head, getting some of the glitter and petals out of her hair. "I didn't find it funny Kaoru, so why would I laugh?" she asked, the tone in her voice changing just slightly, yet her facial expression didn't.

Kaoru sighed once more, moving to get up and walk over to Haruhi, reaching out to help brush off what she couldn't reach. "I'm sorry. I guess... I just wanted to make someone else laugh today," he murmured, even as he looked away. "At least we went with my idea of this instead of Hikaru's plans of Maple Syrup."

Haruhi looked up at him, her eyes furrowed slightly. "Maple... syrup?" she repeated, quiet for a moment. "Kaoru?" she then said, softly.

The Shadow King seemed to appear out of nowhere. He looked between the four, shaking his head as he adjusted his glasses. "Now that you two are done with your practical joke, please have this cleaned up before club starts today," he said, stepping over the mess and past Haruhi and Alcy. Entering the room, the Shadow King stowed his bookbag in the inventory closet and grabbed his laptop. As it booted, he quickly made himself a pot of tea and sat at his usual table; Cup of tea and laptop at the ready. In a matter of seconds he was busily typing away.

Hikaru, the older and bolder of the pair, slunk up behind Haruhi and leaned down so that his lips were just barly brushing her ear as he whispered. "Don't be so quick to judge me as the sadistic one... only reason we went with the glitter and petals was because I couldn't find the water-soluble paint that Kaoru wanted to use." The amber eyes flicked to his brother's with a smirk before he straightened and looked around at Kyouya. "Had planned on that... Mother." Hikaru added the last word on with a sneer before he turned and marched toward the supply closet, reaching out and grabbing Kaoru's sleeve as he passed.
