Lenore nodded, oh their father. Of course, everyone had to have a father, she supposed. She knew she did, though she didn't understand where he was. The small mind didn't get that he was behind the door.
"Where Daddy?" she asked him, refering to his, as she gave him a smile. She had no idea that she was dancing over a delicate subject with Chole but she was just a child.
Cal herself nodded to the woman, her heart going out to her as just one word explained it to her. She lsot her husband. Her hand went out, then hesitated before landing on the woman's hand. She couldn't imagine loosing Flint for good. Oh her beautiful, wonderful, carring Flint, she'd go mad. She'd never find another man like him, and truthfully she wouldn't want to. Cal gave herself to Flint long before they got married and she would always be his. It wasn't until 'death' split them apart, it was forever.
"It must be hard, two boys. It must be nice to have your mother around to help. Um...I'm a stay at home mom, so if you ever...need a little help. I would be glad to help." Cal offered shyly, blushing deeply as she pulled her hand back.

"SWING!" Echo completely forgot about the race, her mind now only focusing on flying high. She was almost there, too, just a few feet away...
"Gotcha!" Flint swooped his little girl up in her arms and nuzzled her close. It was hard to accept, but he finally realized that his search for his heritage was a futile one. So, he went to find his family; not that he didn't want family time, but he wanted to make sure that Cal didn't stray too far. He waved lightly to her on the bench and began to walk over.
"Daddy," she giggled, and began to wiggle around. "Swing. Swing!"

Chloe nodded, seeming to become detached from herself for a moment. He's still alive, she reminded herself, until you tell them to turn off the machines. But that didn't really make a difference, he was gone regardless. "Hard," she mouthed, snapping back to her senses, "It is, and thank you, really. I might have to call you after Abby and Carol leave." Todd didn't seem bothered by the question, he had asked a lot and Mommy always cried but he didn't understand why. "Big bright room," he said confidently, "With daw-ckers." Cary watched attentively as Flint picked up his playmate, feeling a bit shorted on the fun, but she wasn't looking at him anymore, so instead of whining he simply got back to his feet and waddled after them.

Cal reached into her purse to scrible out her number. She was just handing it to the woman when she turned and her heart rose into her throat to look at him. With the woman's misfortune on her mind she loved him more than ever. She struggled to be what he wanted though, so waved back even as she stared at him like a starstruck teen.
Lenore thought over the information she was given and then nodded. "Okay." she accepted though she didn't really know what it all meant. She smiled when she saw Flint and tugged at her new friend's arm. "My daddy." she said proudly of the pale mane with the bone wings.

"Come on, Princess, let's go say hi to Mommy." Truthfully he was more interested in her new friend, wondering what sort of lies she was filling his puppy's head with. "Friend." Echo pointed in the general area of Cary, and demanded again, "Friend." Honestly, she had forgotten about him the moment her Daddy showed up, but now she wanted him to come with them, too. "Okay, sweetheart." Flint rearranged Echo to where she was held by only one arm and then lightly picked Cary up as well, before finishing his jaunt towards the bench.

Chloe took the number gratefully, tucking it into her pocket as she looked wistfully at the woman's reaction to Flint. Her stomach turned suddenly, his bone wings reminding her of the sallow expression she had last seen on Ryan in the hospital. She watched him easily scoop Cary up, and for a moment was stunned silent. "He's cool," Todd gasped, looking up at the man. He was a lot different than Mommy or Grammas, and not just because he was a boy. Cary on the other hand was a little frightened, scrunching his face up into a frown.

Cal and Lenore both smiled proudly at Todd's feelings on Flint and both girls agreed completely, in different ways of course. Lenore always thought her father was cool and loved him dearly, though she never thought to act like her mother around him. Both Echo and Lenore inherited their backbones from Flint.
"Daddy! Daddy!" she called out, then pointed to her new friend. "Todd." she introduced, just as proud. Since Todd thought Flint was cool Flint MUST think Todd was cool. After all it was her first friend besides her sister.
Cal glanced to Clhoe though and saw how her face paled a little. She frowned a little, proud of her husband and all his differences. He was special, strong, amazing, good, wonderful, sweet, kind and all sorts of other good things.
"He's a good man." she whispered to her and then got up to cross to her husband, leaning in to kiss his cheek. "Hello Honey, meet Chloe. We're just letting our kids play together." Cal wanted to explain that she wouldn't dare consider someone Flint hadn't approved of as a friend. She just wanted to help the single mother.

Flint let both children down and returned the kiss to his wife. "Well hello there, Chloe. I'm glad my little Princesses can find such nice friends." He offered her a warm smile, but neglected to offer his hand. Crouching down to see the boy Lenore was pointing to, he reached out to ruffle his hair. "Hey buddy, I hope you're playing nice with my little girl. She sure seems to like you," he kept his grin, but his words were a veiled threat; one that a child most likely wouldn't understand, but he felt the need to say it anyways. Echo grabbed Cary's arm and pulled him close. "Daddy, this is Cary. He's cool and wiggly!"

Chloe didn't seem to realize what she had done wrong until she heard the tone of Cal's voice. She paled further, feeling that she'd done something to offend them and that she may have lost the woman as a possible friend. "I-" she stuttered, looking Flint over, "I was just thinking that you remind me of my husband." She glanced down at Todd, who seemed remarkably to be on his best behavior, "He's harmless, wouldn't hurt a fly." Well maybe a fly, but only a very small fly. "Friends," Todd said purposefully, sticking his hands in his pockets as the man ruffled his hair. You had to be nice to friends, it was in the rules. Cary on the other hand seemed quite confused to be tugged around, and was visibly uncomfortable being so close to the other girl. Sure he liked her, but he also liked space. There was a reflex in the back of his mind to shove the girl away, but she had already proven that she was stronger than him so he simply tried to smile. But wait. "Wiggly?" he asked, trying to look at her without smushing his face against hers.

Cal relaxed and smiled at the woman, seeing her uncomfortable face and understanding such pains of just being an awkward person forced to shuffle though life. She didn't want her to think that Cal couldn't forgive a few mistakes. She'd make plenty. So long as Flint approved of the woman she would be happy to be her friend.
Lenore smiled at Todd's understanding ways and beamed. Her eyes watched Cary though, she could sense his discomfort and didn't want him to hurt her sister. (Though really with Flint around and knowing Echo she'd be fine.)
"All Friends." she beamed. happily. Cal couldn't agree more. She held on to her husband's arm, trying not to do it too tightly. Flint didn't like it if she got too clingy but...he'd been gone for so long. Oh he didn't go anywhere but he didn't really talk to her, she was so afraid she done something wrong but now he was back and he seemed...okay again.
