I don't reallly get how pornography is bad. Has everyone forgotten that Adam and Eve were nekkid and paintings depiciting them as such are considered porno (because they're nude) and that we shouldn't let our kids lookat those paintings. It also seems that under all our clothes we're also nekkid ZOMG we all have breasts. What horrid people we are. -gasp- talk2hand

There is a difference between nudity and pornography.

Nudity: the showing of a bare body, possibly including genitalia. The act of being nude. Not wearing clothes.

Pornography: The depiction of a sexual act, used as entertainment. The use of a depicted sexual act to elicit sexual arousal or desire.

Big difference doncha think?

Your Genesis 3-7? Thats cute. That happened AFTER they ate of the fruit that god said was bad and gained knowledge. Before, like they cared they were nude? Please provide the entire context of that before using it in this sort of argument, ok? ANd so you can be satisfied that I have read a bible:

children are ignorant of sin, yet we are born sinners. they werent ignorant of sin, they had a knowledge of right and wrong. there was only one rule in the garden, they broke it even tho they KNEW it was wrong, thats not ignorance its willfulness. where in the Bible does it say nudity is wrong? for the matter of written "porn" how bout the Song of Songs

Hentai is a form of porn, so yes, it's just as bad. I see it an abuse of sex. Sex is meant to be something reserved for someone you love.

Sex is not bad, nor is nudity. I would argue there's even a place for lust. It is all how they are used. Porn generally leads to unhealthy lust and abuses sex, which is sinful.

Anyhow, this issue is partially rooted in the more fundamental question: Are some sins worse than others (is it only the Unpardonable Sin which is worse?)?

Just as an example (not trying to prove it here), I believe that some are worse (and live-action depiction of identical acts done in hentai is worse than the hentai), but that all sins are still wicked enough to separate us from God.

To risk sounding silly, imagine that we attached a scale of wickedness to sins. A white lie might be 1047, stealing a car might be 1054, and murdering someone might be 1087. Some are worse, in other words, but the difference is inconsequential relative to the base level of wickedness of any sin.


As a personal note, I have struggled with porn before, even when I knew how wrong it was. Such temptations can, however, be resisted through God's strength. Jesus would not even consider the temptations that the Devil brought to Him, and we can withstand in the same manner with the Spirit in us.

Alright, it seems that no one touched upon this, if so, I'm sorry I skimmed over you post. I will start with nudity, work my way up to lust/adultery, and finish with sex in general. Sound good? Great.

Nudity: Yes, someone did cover that Adam and Eve did not realize they were naked until the Serpent had his wicked way. Lets backtrack and look in chapter 1 of Gen. Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” God created our bodies and saw that they were good. Our naked bodies were GOOD in the eyes of the LORD..Hmmm. Moving on we encounter this : Genesis 2:25 “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” They were not ashamed of each others bodies, let alone their own.
Now I get to where I was going I believe: Adam and Eve covered up when they realized they were naked. Does that mean that our naked flesh is a sin? I think not. Let alone a man and a wife covering themselves from one another. Why would they do this if being man and wife their bodies belonged to one another (Song of Songs..)? Not only did they hide their nakedness, they tried to hid their lives from God: Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. After this God asks a question that I think some what sums up the madness to this section : 11And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? God didn't care that they were naked and demanded to know who had told them. Of course he knew, he just wanted to hear Adam and Eve say it.
The human body is in no way, shape, or form 'bad'. God created it and saw how wonderful it was. That sums up that its not a sin to be naked...

Lust: I'll keep this brief. Matthew 5:28, "But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart." What is adultery you may ask? Great question! Its a term that refers to having relations of the sexual nature with anyone other then your spouse. Yes, your spouse, as in being married. 'Oddly' enough if is one of the most used concepts in the bible. This theme appears as a commandment, its in all four gospels, and appears readily in ten other books of the bible. Wowzers, that's a lot isn't it? Gee, maybe its important?

Sex: Sex has only two purposes. Yes, two. They don't have an order. 1- Sex is meant to provide pleasure and oneness to a husband and wife. 2- Children. That's the only reasons behind it. I did say 'oneness'. When two people have sex they become one physically and spiritually. Now, have you ever wondered why sex outside of marriage is wrong? (and yes it is wrong) Well, of course its because God says it is, but better yet, why does God say it? Well...it has to do with my all time favorite passage other then the entire book of Song of songs. I think its beautiful really, or maybe I'm weird? 1 Corinthians 7: 1-5 Yes, it is good to live a celibate life. 2 But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband. 3 The husband should not deprive his wife of sexual intimacy, which is her right as a married woman, nor should the wife deprive her husband. 4 The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband also gives authority over his body to his wife. 5 So do not deprive each other of sexual relations.The only exception to this rule would be the agreement of both husband and wife to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time, so they can give themselves more completely to prayer. Afterward they should come together again so that Satan won't be able to tempt them because of their lack of self-control. When you get married you become as one its the same with sex.

I might as well wrap this up, even if I left some things undid. Now, I'm not going to say whether porn is wrong yada yada yada, but form your own opion. I mean really, its quiet clear..

human logic generaly leads us to believe that one sin is worse then another (IE the whole hentai/live action porn) but in god's eye stealing a candybar is equivalent to killing someone. in short hentai and porn are equal in badness
