"Who says they'd be dumb enough to do that?" he blinked at her, turning his head as he trudged into the water. "Why do they have to be one way or the other, anyway? Whose to say they couldn't be big and strong and have some brain to, hm?" He quirked a brow as he watched her, following her. Why did it have to be black and white, there were grays in between too, certainly?
"You could be, but I guess that stands to be seen." He laughed aloud as the wave of water splashed across his face, and though he turned it away, he still spluttered water from his mouth. "Hey," he called back at her, splashing back with water from one of his own hind legs, chuckling lightly as he did so. His short mane was half soaked, part of it lying down and falling into his eyes, causing him to toss his head a bit more than he normally would when it was dry and simply standing up.

"They could be. But most aren't. That's why there's stereotypes right? The average brute isn't all that smart. There's always exceptions to the rules though." It nice to think that there might be some smart brutes out there but you'd have to wade though a lot of stupid before you found it.
She snickered as she ducked the water as best she could. "Shouldn't argue with girls unless you know you're absolutely right. We're horrible at not being able to have the last word."

"I guess that's why there are stereotypes, yeah," he said with a shrug, conceding to her. She did seem to be much better at this bantering than he was. He just talked himself into a hole, and then she trumped him in the end. It seemed pointless to keep the conversation going if he was going to lose. "I guess you're right. Although, I don't think either of us know who is right or wrong, so who could win or lose?"
He chuckled as he waded a little deeper into the water, his tail swishing through the water behind him as he turned his gaze up to meet her. "So where were you headed before I interrupted you? Or were you headed no where at all?"

"I wasn't headed anywhere really. Just running." The breeze was mostly gone now so any running she did from now should be back in the direction of home. "It's just nice to race the wind every now and then. Though i bet my mother wonders where i am, since i didn't exactaly tell her i was just going to go running off." She laughed slightly as she though about that one.

"I've never done that before," he said with a quirk of his brow, turning to look at the horizon as if the wind would suddenly blow or become visible to him. As she mentioned her mother he shifted in the water, his front leg splashing a tiny wave in her direction, not as big or as energetic as the first. "Do you and your family live near here, then?"

"Mmhm." She nodded. "Not too far from here .. but i was running for a while so it could be further than i think." Her dad probably wouldn't like that there was someone else roaming about in the area but she wasn't about to tell him. He was stuffy enough as it was and having to deal with any more might kill her.

"I see," he said with a little nod, turning to look in the direction that he had seen her running from. It had been a long time since he had seen anyone in his family. His parents were travelers, so finding them wouldn't have been a very easy task at all. His siblings were travelers as well, just as he was, though his heart could settle, he supposed, if he ever found a reason to. "It must be nice to have a family to go home to," he said with a little smile, beginning to wade back to the shore, shaking his mane out of his eyes now that it was beginning to dry and stick up once more.

"It's sorta nice." She nodded. "A bit over bearing some times when all you want to do is get away." Though one of her other sisters had wandered off. So maybe eventually it would be nice for her to get away. "Makes things safer though, i know daddy wouldn't ever let anything happen to me"

"I think that maybe it's not for everyone then," he said with a small shrug, glancing over his shoulder as he began to trudge out of the water and up onto the bank. "I miss my family, but I don't know if I could stand over bearing anything. It's good that you like it, and that you feel safe there." He nodded, although the conversation was a bit awkward for him now.
