Definately not from Quebec. Her name was Ondine, I think, and I can't remember where exactly she lived--though I know it was France.

Hmm....not too sure about the prettiest language, French does sound lovely, but to me Chinese is the most beautiful written language. The Chinese characters I mean, and when you have calligraphy, it's spazzing awesome. mrgreen

I think the prettiest languages are Finnish and japanese. Both languages have got a nice sound Sadly I cant understand it but I really like finnish or japanese songs. Another nice language is dutch. I love this language cause it sounds really cute when dutch people are talking bout something.

I've heard that Dutch is very similar to German 3nodding

Yes, it is, but when listening to it most people find that German sounds a bit harsher than Dutch.

Personally I think French, Russian and Greek are pretty languages.

I have to say French and Italian. My best friends sister speaks them both and when ever I go over there she is always combining the two, it sounds so elegant...

I'm going to have to say Italian. I lived in Italy for three years and was quite happy being immersed in such a wonderful culture.

But I also like Gaelic, what little I've heard of it. That would be the Scottish and Irish blood in me, I guess. ^^ I must learn it!

I think the prettiest[I hate that word... -_- me being pessimistic, I spose...] language is Italian. It's so flowy, and once you get into a phrase, it's like "boing!" It just flows together perfectly. And Italian arias are some of the most beautiful!

I absolutely love the sound of Finnish...It sounds like Elvish, and indeed, I read somewhere that Tolkien's Elvish is based off of it.
I love the sound of Japanese, as well, and French.

Hm... I don't really know. I always loved the sound of Japanese, but for some reason I've always been really in love with spanish. <3

I have heard many different languages and i think that Swedish is one of the best languages in the world. I like it because it comes in so many different accents i have lived in sweden my whole life but my father is English so i speak english at home. Even though i have lived here my whole life i still find it difficult to understand certain accents so you can never stop learning it. And it's allways funny to hear English people trying to pronounce swedish words xp wink

In my opinion that'd be Chinese. I have some CD's of a few Chinese singers; Faye Wong and Stephy Tang for example who sing in various different dialects of the language and I think it just sounds beautiful. There's quite a lot of 'sh' sound in Chinese and it's not a heavily nasal language nor does it have the Germanic sound a lot of European languages have to it, it's just about perfect. 3nodding

My other favourites would be French and Italian.
