Elnara was completely flustered from the bow - she hadn't been bowed to in years, not since ...

Well she preferred not to think about those times.

She licked her lips apprehensively for a moment, then glanced up at Celebor once more, then reached forward and took Niyana's hand in her own.

"Please," she said softly, warmly, "just call me Elnara ... and forgive me if I seem ... distant. I don't mean to be. It's just ... such a surprise ..."

Then she pulled Niyana close and hugged her gently. "Welcome to the family, Niyana ... we are all very pleased and honoured to have you join us."

But she shot Lore a look, one that asked how he could have kept something to important from her.

Celebor grinned sheepishly at his mother, but he was glad that Niyana had done what was natural for her. If she had tried to force herself to do otherwise, he would have worried about her.

Jair, for his part, was looking up at Celebor thoughtfully. "I remember you," he stated. "You took care of my vase for a while didn't you? And you talked to me a lot."

Celebor grinned at his little brother, but made no move to step away from Niyana. "Yes, I did," he affirmed, "but from now on Mom's going to be the one taking care of you - Mom and your Uncle Ryu. But I would love very much for you to visit us in the Seconds world sometimes ... we could go swimming together."

Jair grinned and flapped his little black wings happily. "I'd like that," he agreed.

Lore smiled softly, looking down apologetically at her. It seemed like he was going to have to make up for that. In private though, so he could explain to her, not in front of the two of them. He reached out for Elnara's hand though, letting poor Celebor explain the handprints. Though he had his own suspicions about them.

Elnara nodded thoughtfully at Niyana's explanation. Yes, it made sense ... but still. It would have been nice. Although ... now that she was thinking about it ... hadn't she done the same? Gone to another world and found herself a husband without telling her family? She couldn't judge Celebor and Niyana. They had done well.

"Way cool!" Jair exclaimed excitedly. "Maybe for a whole day, even? I'd really like that!"

He giggled at her explanation of the handprints. "I think it's a good way to practice," he agreed. "And then once you get good at that it means that you can do better things, like those dragons I saw! I bet you did them, they're really neat!"

Celebor chuckled. "She did," he affirmed. He squeezed Niyana's hand for a moment and rose once more to his feet. "Will you be all right here by yourself for a few minutes? I'm going to go upstairs and pack some of my things."

Idhril flushed with pleasure at Niyana's compliment but simply stood with her hands behind her back.

Lore nodded in agreement, recalling when he first moved to the cafe, that seemed like ages ago now. He looked down at Jair with a small smile.

"Is that alright with you Jair?"

Not to mention it would allow for them to introduce the other children to Niyana a bit at a time.

Jair grinned up at Lore and nodded cheerfully. "I think that would be cool, too," he agreed. "It's kinda hard for me to go places by myself anyways."

Elnara smiled. "I'm glad you're taking it so well," she murmured to Jair, though she was certain Lore was probably thinking the same thing about her and the news about Celebor at the moment. She had seen the look in his eyes earlier.

She turned to Niyana and smiled at her comment. "We've had enough moving around lately that it's just common sense now," she laughed softly, a faint blush sprinkling across her cheeks at Niyana's stumbling over her title. "Besides, I'm sure that on your first day officially living together ... you might like some time alone."

Jair giggled. "Yeah, probably," he agreed with his mother, though he didn't of course know her full meaning.

At Niyana's suggestion of painting on him, he clapped his hands together. "That would be fun!" he exclaimed excitedly. "Maybe I can have a dragon, too? A shiny green one like my tail! Can you do that? Huh? Can you can you?"
