"Alright, but if you're hungry, I could go snag you something fast if you want." Kesan shrugged, turning to face Thorn. "This isn't so bad, really...you know? In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the best around other Sentinels." Kesan laughed, his eyes glittering. "But hey, this is actually fine." He turned back to face the woods, keeping his eyes on something moving. Nearly there, just a little closer now...

"Really? I didn't notice!" Thorn said, chuckling as well. "You seem fine to me! And if it wasn't much trouble, I would love a snack. So long as it's not a bat!" he said, looking down at his Chirops who was glaring at him.

"Well, I usually stay at my outpost and don't go anywhere else most times." Kesan stood still, gazing deep into the woods. He suddenly took wing and swiped a squirrel in midair as it jumped from branch to branch, a small squeal erupting from the animal as Kesan humanely killed it with a flick of his talon. "Here you go." he said, gingerly setting the still-warm body of the squirrel on the branch in front of Thorn.

"Mm! Delicious! Nice kill, too. I usually have to wait a bit, or I get fish. One of the advantages of living by the river is sometimes there's fish in the shallows." Thorn tore neatly at the squirrel, trying his best not to get blood everywhere. "It's your kill; would you like half?" He'd only eaten about a quarter of the squirrel, so there was plenty left.

"Nah, I'm fine. Plus, you'll need the energy for what's coming up. We need to fly fast and hope we stay out of there." Kesan said, foreshadowing what was ahead. Kobold glared at him, the expressive little black beads of his eyes locked in on him. "Come on, Kobie, I won't let you get any of your feathers pulled again."

"Thank you very much, Kesan!" Thorn hooted, devouring the rest of the squirrel. He hopped up and down on the branch a few times, stretching, and shook himself before smoothing his feathers. "I'm ready to go if you lead the way!"

"Alright. We need to take a wide curve around what's ahead-there's a flock of crows in there right now with eggs. Kobie got some of his feathers plucked on the way to you. I'm gonna carry him this time so that he won't get all irked at me again if he loses some more." Kesan said, spreading his wings to stretch. "Ready to go?"

"Indeed! I'd like to avoid the crows if at all possible. I don't think I'm quite capable of fending them off, and I really don't want my companions pecked at or harassed in any way. I've got them trained to do some fairly complex, dangerous stuff, and it would be very, very difficult to replace them. But yes, now, let's go!" Thorn hopped off the branch and circled around to follow the Ranger.
