It was faster. Boujima could not argue that. Yet there was something to be said for leisurely travel as well. One missed less. Was able to see more. There was time to settle between seeing otters again. If lucky.
The younger brother was faintly nodding his head, as if anticipating what his sister would say. Up until she mentioned ‘tassel’ & ‘dirty’ in the same sentence. Against his will Bou’s eyes fell to the wiggling tassel, transfixed. Oh no. oh no. oh no. “Maybe… something else…” The tassel… Bou did not wish to see it dirtied. Very softly he whimpered, thinking of times the tassel must have already been filthy being worn by his sister. He was going to lose his cover but did not seem to have caught on to it. "Perhaps my handkerchief. I’ve one in my pocket…”
But Bou was not moving, much less reaching for a handkerchief in the pocket of his black pants

"I'm not dirtying my wand or my tiara, that's for sure." Hiroyuki said adamantly. She might have gotten herself dirty many times, but she took pride and care of her wand. And she would never dirty her tiara on purpose. Accidentally while on adventures...now, that was another story.
She sighed, dropping the tassel with a pout. "Well, it's not as if I could just dirty one little tassel. I'd probably wind up dirtying everything. Like I always do. Besides it'd look weird just dirtying one."
"Your hankerchief? Really?" Her mouth dropped open as she turned to look at her brother. He was offering to have one of his possessions get dirty? The realization hit her and she clapped her paws together, giggling. "Great! Take it out then!" Her eyes watched him, shining with anticipation.
After a few minutes, she tilted her head to the side, sighing. "Aaah, I knew it was too much to ask. Accio hankerchief!" It flew towards the witch and she caught it with a grin. "You ready, otouto?"

Though an ear flicked somewhat at the feel of his handkerchief tugging out of his pocket -a very odd feeling indeed- Boujima hardly gave it a second glance, his eyes still unerringly on the tassel. Part of his brain had managed to make a scoff as if to say 'of course' when his sister commented upon not dirtying her wand.
It was not until the square of white cloth flashed past his head in his periphery that Boujima's head -and thoughts- snapped back to attention. For a brief moment a look of abject horror touched his eyes for barely a fraction of a second before it was gone. She had not caught him. He was safe.
"Yes, Onee-san. Ready as I can be, I suppose." Pause. "I don't believe I've ever gotten anything dirty before." Bou said it in a way that indicated his sister would probably have to get the handkerchief dirty. Seeing as he was uncertain how to go about doing so.

She sighed, waving his handkerchief in front of him. "I wouldn't expect you to, otouto." Hiroyuki teased, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Of course, that means I'm gonna have to do it."
The witch looked around,, surveying their surroundings. "Well, it's too dry a day to find any mud puddles. Hmmm..." As she thought, she crumpled the handkerchief up into a messy ball, all the while watching her brother's face out of the corner of her eye to see how he would react.

Boujima's reaction? His white face crinkled, brow crunching the short bangs over his forehead as they curled inward where the ends of the hairs touched and were moved. The stripe marks on his cheeks appeared to twitch like readied blades. His paw clenched what appeared to be almost painfully upon his wand's handle. "Scourgify Does not sound like a spell to remove wrinkles, Onee-san." He cringed a little bit more as he knew what he was to say and not liking it one wit. It was like a faint shudder that shifted from nose to the tips of his tails, even so much as to make it look like his 'fluff' shuddered too. "At least dust. Or... grass."
ah no... grass stains on his perfectly white handkerchief. But... if this worked he would at least know he could be cleaned then. White fur did tend to show the smallest bit of dirt.

His reaction was amusing, and Hiroyuki stifled a giggle and settled for an amused expression on her face. "It's a cleaning spell! And if you do it right, it'll be neat too! It involves quite a tricky flick, if I remember." She shrugged. It had taken her a while to perfect it. Coming home clean but with crumpled clothes was a no-no. "Grass stains are fine! Unless you want me to make the grass all muddy. I could just shoot some water at that patch over there." She pointed with her hazel wand.
Still, she dropped the handkerchief on the ground and rolled it around in the grass with a paw. "Muddy stains would be easier to make though."

"Scourgify gets rid of wrinkles?" He was trying not to cringe (and failing miserably) not even bothering to hide how he thought that was incredulous. In the end he had to turn away.

melodymh4 "What's the point in a cleaning spell if you get something clean but crumpled?" The way she said it was obvious that she herself had run into such a dilemma before, but it wasn't exactly surprising.
His older sister flashed him a grin then held up the handkerchief. She had gone with the mud after all, by shooting some water out of her wand at a grassy spot she had pointed to earlier. "Here!" She dropped it on the ground, then cleaned the paw that had been holding it with another spurt of water from her wand. "Why don't you try the spell now?"

Too late Boujima realized he had repeated himself and was watching his sister, waiting for the teasing. That never came. Blink. What... had she really not noticed? He always thought of Hiroyuki as intelligent, but he had not realized how very unperceptive she was. Perhaps it was not just luck she had never caught on to his fascination with her tassels. She simply did not notice. Anything it seemed. Or maybe he was being too hard on her; his irritation at having to get something dirty after aparating still eating at him inside. Not to mention the wings he would have to spend time learning so he did not look the fool.
His poor, poor handkerchief. Golden eyes narrowed as he tried not to cringe anew at the soiled state. "Right. Right." Clasping his wand in his paw Boujima made a forceful cutting motion through the air as if swinging a sword to aim the oaken wand at the handkerchief with a stern "Scrourgify!"
The white furred male nearly jumped back with the force of the spray that squirted out of the end of his wand, hitting and rushing his handkerchief away from them. Ooops. Too much. Bou frowned.

Hiroyuki had assumed he had repeated his question again because of his doubt, and his nitpickiness with cleanliness. She had expected him not to be very pleased about her bring them outside and dirtying something. So she was patient, for now.
His sister's eyes widened, scrambling away from the handkerchief, watching it fly away with a wince. Giggles erupted from her lips before she covered her mouth and told herself to calm down. "You shouldn't use so much force. It's more of a flick, really. You're not looking to cut it, just clean it."
She Summoned the handkerchief back. "Try it again." She said, an amused smile crinkling on her face as she tried to hold it back from spreading and bursting into a laugh.

So Boujima had come to the wrong conclusion. Was not the first time, probably would not be the last. Though the uptight male was probably never going to admit to either, even if he knew of such instances. This not being one of the instances of reaching a wrong verdict that he knew of anyway. Thinking your older sister might be lacking in the perception department was not exactly something any halfway intelligent younger sibling went around making comments on.
Especially not after flubbing so miserably in front of her.
Bou cringed, face wincing slightly at both the results and his sister’s attempt not to laugh. At least too much. A hot blush of failure and embarrassment darkened the skin beneath his white fur which showed rather easily through. He did appreciate how Hiroyuki was attempting to let him keep his pride by not laughing at him out loud. Auburn hair shifted about Bou’s pure white face as he nodded his understanding at the more precise directions. Not cut it, just clean it. Right. More of a flick. Not so much force. He saw his –ack! Soiled!- handkerchief return in his periphery.
Waiting until his sister had released it, Boujima leveled both golden eyes and Lignum Vitae wand upon the dirty square of fabric. “Scourgify.” He intoned with more control, carefully flicking his wrist in a similar but different manner than when their mother had taught them the levitation charm. It was more like… wiping a slate clean. Boujima blinked as a more controlled –less force & much less water- gush of water sprung from the end of his wand and drenched the handkerchief.
Well now. That was certainly an improvement. But… was it clean? Bou took a step closer to get a better look.

Hiroyuki knew of her brother's pride of course. And besides, teaching needed patience. It wasn't as if she herself could grasp a spell with just one flick of her wand. Practice was essential...even though she could master it after a few attempts.
Still, she didn't brag about it. Not in front of Bou, especially when she was teaching him the particular spell. She couldn't guarantee not braging in front of others though.
"Not bad! Told ya you could do it!" She crinkled up her nose, staring closely at the handkerchief. "But you missed a spot." A small one, but a spot nevertheless. "It's not bad for a fir...er...second try though!"
