Unless anyone else has a better way to solve it, or you guys want to talk it out, I will take Raven's suggestion and roll the die. 1/2=Pond, 3/4=Long Path

"Onward then!" Bellamin started to martch off to the forest path. "Hey, but what if the person who made the paths wants us to go the long way because it looks like it avoids something, but really it leads us to the thing we wished to avoid by not taking the lake-route..." He swiveled back to the path again. "Nevermind..."

To be perfectly honest, Raven would have been happy with either path. As long as she was in connection with nature she was in her element. Able to hear the plants, speak with the animals, everything here was within her power. So even though the mysterious powers above disagreed with her she would press on. Smiling contently she hums a slow, yet happy toon as she walks on through the wooded path. Looking over her shoulder she stops her humming to say, "Coming?" in a disturbingly cute voice. She returns to her humming. And through it all the child she carries doesn't even so much as move, reminding you of the importance of the mission ahead...

On the long path, not much is seen except many trees and a path which seems like it's been walked on a lot. Many foot prints are on the path. Some are of human size, and some are barely noticable. The barely noticable ones look like an animal print. They all, except for one pair, lead the way the group is heading. The one pair, which is obviously a human's, leads to a bush that is on the party's right.

((There's more than one way to skin a cat...as the saying goes anyway.))
"Wait." Raven says, placing the child down against a nearby tree, "There is no need to endanger yourself, Lugh. I don't want anyone hurt needlessly." Raven steps forth, summoning her powers. Using them she reaches out, speaking to the spirits and feeling out to more unseen aspects of nature.
((This is Raven's equivalent of RPing her way into seeing what's on the other side of the bush. Basically she's using her connection with nature (an established part of her RP) to "feel" the area on the other side of the bush and detect anything living and possibly what it is. Obviously, she can tell relative size based on the pressure it exerts on the ground below it and the space it takes up by the amount of air that is blocked from her "sight". I don't know if you allow this kind of approach like I do, but I thought it was worth a shot. If you don't, then obviously it's too vague for her to tell and Lugh can begin his own investigation.))

Raven senses that what is in the bush is very small and is light. No way could it be a human, it could not even be a dog. It is probably, with its weight, a bunny or a squirel, but there is no way to tell unless you actually checked.
((Believe me, I wouldn't deny anything that has a reason behind why they can do it. ^_^))

"Nothing to be worried about." Raven replies to the others. "It's just a small animal. Probably a rabbit." Raven turns to Bellamin, "Maybe it's your friend." Raven says jokingly before heading over and picking up the child once more. "We should continue on."
