Ryn'hina: You know, Wind, in most societies it's a convention to annouce yourself at the door of someone's home before entering. Humans knock, The Klin headbutt the door, and my own people clap. Generally speaking, just bursting in is rude.

Dsepite her words, a smile played on her face, and there was a tired sarcasm to her words, like she'd said them before.

Ryn'hina: It's good to see you, Wind. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the Arm Mounted Ion Cannon. Every merchant I've asked about it keeps saying some nonsense about an interstellar weapons code violation. It's a pity. That thing could make a new Ar'dar Crater.

Ryn's whole demeanor changed when she discussed weapons. Instead of the tough, surly, no-nonsense manner she usually had, she was like a kid on Christmas morning. She ran her hand lovingly over the barrel of her Ghasath Riffle. There were plenty of weapons that did more damage, but the Ghasath was her favorite, her trademark. She rarely went anywhere, even on board without it. That reminded her...

Ryn'hina: Say, Kid, d'you know what kind of gun you're holding? That's the most idiot-proof gun in my arsenal. It automatically targets for you so you almost never miss, and you can program it not to shoot certain people. I'm already in there, and I think Crylic is too.

She wondered at his choice. He had said he wasn't great with weapons, but was he really that bad? If so, she'd have to train him up a bit if he was going to be the greatest pirate on this ship.

Wind raised his hand and smiled.

Wind: "Alright, alright. So i'll knock next time. Also, why aren't I programmed in there? That's all I need is someone to come around and...HEY HEY HEY! Get that rifle away from me, don't you dare point it at me."

Wind jumped behind a stack of boxes out of the way of the kid holding the rifle.

Wind: "You're not supposed to point it at people!"

Malkor was pacing quickly but soundlessly through the great hall, as someone called.

Voice: “Hey there, Tyapon!”

Malkor stopped dead in his tracks. This was it. He was going to get busted for constructing weapons without permission. He turned around and saw the smiling Bolian who had called for him. Bolians were a bipedal cat-like people. This Bolian was a female about 1.4 meters tall, a fairly common height for the species. She was, like Malkor, fairly muscular and undoubtedly, she was very happy about something. Malkor pulled himself together and tried to sound normal as he replied.

Malkor: “Yes? Can I help you?”
Bolian: “Hey, that was my question. I was wondering if you needed any help finding the right gadgets.”

This was such a relief for him, he couldn’t help but laugh and smile. The Bolian was now just by him.

Bolian: “What? Do I have something on my face?”
Malkor: “Oh. No, it’s nothing like that. I just.. well, it’s nothing. Actually I was looking for a pressure chamber, miss..”
Bolian: “Meegua. The name’s Meegua. And our pressure chambers are not functioning at the moment. Sorry.”

Meegua seemed truthfully sorry for the fact that some machines were out of order.

Malkor: “Well, what is the problem?”
Meegua: “Actually, it’s the main Quad Detorad that’s not drawing out the air particles, but none of us can seem to figure out why. By the way, you didn’t introduce yourself.”
Malkor: “Sorry. I’m Malkor. I hate the name but no one has ever come up with a suitable nickname for me. Anyway, I’ve been working with a lot of Detorads before I came aboard the Odyssey. If you could show me the way, I’d be glad to see if I can help.”
Meegua: “Sound great! It’s this way.”

Meegua started walking in the opposite of what Malkor thought was the right way. He was just happy that no questions were asked about the bundle that he was way too obviously trying to conceal during the conversation. He fumbled a bit with it and ran to catch up with the feline.

Leon: "Oh! Sorry."

Leon put the gun back on the weapons wall where he found it. Instead he decided to go with a pistol type for now. He was thinking he would work his way up to the automatic weapons, since he had no real combat experience. Leon still seemed like he was a non-existent entity in the room, so he made his way to the door.

Leon: "I don't know what I need to do for the mission, so I'm going to go find Crylic. He's probably looking for a transport pilot in the marketplace, I've seen him a few times when I was repairing the landing vehicles, before missions were sent out."

Meanwhile, Crylic had made his way toward the shipyard. But all the pilots were already booked for trade routes; he did not see the pilot he was looking for though, so he headed off to find Leon in the mechanics area. Since he had remembered that he was a mechanic, he would know where the idle support staff were.

He hadn't been this far into mechanic territory before, so he was lost. Passing by a few chambers, he realized that there were a lot more people here than in the Treasure Hunter area. He remembered back when the Odyssey was just him, Steve and the Captain, it was very lonely at the time -- but a year later, people started to flood in. This was now his tenth year on the Odyssey...

While he was spacing out, he accidentally bumped into Malkor's shoulder, but at the time he had no clue who he was..

Crylic: "My apologies."

Malkor caught up with Meegua, and as they strode through the massive Construction Bay. There were lots of people making and repair armor and weapons, so he considered that it might not be a problem to blend in. While not keeping his eyes on the way he was walking, someone bumped into him. He turned around to say something, but when he saw the almost majestic-looking Crylic apologizing he had no idea how to act in response. Crylic looked lost but somehow he managed still to have that special I’m-in-charge-quality. Malkor couldn’t help but wonder so he asked Meegua

Malkor: “Why would Crylic come around here?”
Meegua: “Beats me. But the pressure chambers are here too.”

She said it with a soft laughter. The positivity of this Bolian was uncanny and it Malkor couldn’t help but smile back. He turned his head to look at the four great machines. Their shape reminded him of little submarines, with one screen connected to a space camera on the inside. In the middle of the four apparatuses, there was another machine submerged into the floor. What extended beyond the base of the floor looked like a big empty glass jar. This machine was the main Quad Detorad of the pressure chambers. It was the machine emptying the chambers of all particles, and thereby intensifying the pressure. If the Quad Detorad was running all it’s power at only one chamber, it was possible to reach up to 0,7 Mega Pascal.

Malkor couldn’t immediately see why it wasn’t functioning properly, so he went closer to open up a panel at its base. The panel was showing all activity up until the moment where it stopped operating.

Meegua: “Do you see the flaw?”
Malkor: “Hold on. Give me a minute or two here.”

Wind shrugged as he picked himself up and looked at the man.

Wind:"Pilot? I'm a pilot. Can I help?"

He seemed to pull himself up so he was standing straight and had a new sense of pride beaming on his face, this was normal for him.

Wind:"Wind at your service. Transport and Interceptor pilot."

Leon looked back at Wind, realizing that he just said that he did maintenance for him earlier. It made him feel stupid, but made things much more convenient. Leon was really absent minded for a mechanic, especially being a mechanic for the Odyssey and it's many intricate machines and vehicles. However, he always did a good job, so no one had worried about his work.

Leon: "Oh great! We'll have to talk to Crylic though, since I'm not sure what he's actually doing."

Crylic had left the mechanic's area after asking around about Leon. He was hoping that the mechanic over at the pressure chambers would know, but he looked too stunned in front of Crylic to answer. Abruptly, he headed off on his own. He ventured about the narrow hallways filled with machines that he had no clue about their purpose, but assumed that he shouldn't touch anything. Especially since his silvery blue scales were hard, if he had fallen over, he would have damaged some of the equipment seriously. By the time he left the area, he ended up in the Treasure Hunter's living area, and in front of him, Leon, whom he was searching for over the past few hours...

Leon: "Speak of the devil..."
Crylic: "I was looking for you, I didn't expect you to be here. Already upgrading your social status?"
Leon: (Annoyed) "Urk, no Ryn was giving me some weapons to use for the mission."

Leon turns around and looks at Wind, remembering why he was in the hallway.

Leon: "Oh right, I was looking for you too! I was thinking we needed a pilot."

Leon: (Pointing at Wind) "This guy, uh... I think Wind was his name."
Crylic: (Surprised) "You! Just the pilot I was looking for. Can you pilot a Stargazer?"
Leon: (Being ignored) "See... I'm useful..."

A Stargazer was a versatile transport ship, it had the ability to land and take off in mere seconds. At the same time, it could convert to an interception fighter, just in case the landing crew was in trouble, by dropping it's cargo container. It was a popular and rare human made ship by a company called Maverick, they also specialized in multi-purpose close quarter weapons/armor that Crylic preferred over other utilities made by other companies.

Leon: "You own a Stargazer?!"
Crylic: "Yes, what about it?"
Leon: "Those cost about 100,000 UC, right?"
Crylic: "It's worth the money. That reminds me, it needs to be checked before we take-off. Can you do it?"
Leon: "Of course, I specialize in Human made machines."
Crylic: (Handing over a card key) "It's in merchant bay 6"

Leon runs off happily...

Leon looked extremely excited when he heard that Crylic owned a Stargazer. He loved machines, and especially expensive ones -- at the same time, he remembered that it was his goal to own one of these machines. He wasn't a good pilot, but when he was back in the military, he worked on many different space fighters. The Stargazer was an exception though. Back then, they were even more expensive than they were today, so only mechanics with high authority got to touch them.

[Heh, just too add on to Otter's post]

The pressure chamber seemed to be getting humid, and the air tasted sour. The ship's climate read-out hadn't noticed any changes in the machines, so the emergency systems hadn't kicked in. However, a step into the room and one could immediately notice that there was something different in the room. The Odyssey had a natural climate to it, everyone had the same weathering conditions, with exception to the engine. The machines in the pressure chamber were extremely important to the Odyssey's Phase Drive, and could not operate without the constant collapse and release of particles into the drive.

Suddenly, the Odyssey's climate control noticed the change in the room. Normally, the toxicity sensor would pick up the change in chemicals in the air, but it looked like it was obviously malfunctioning. Steam started to pour into the room, and the emergency doors closed with Malkor and Meegua inside the room. The lights had turned from a bright white to an emergency red. There should have been an early warning signal, but it never triggered. Something was wrong...

[Great, we've reached my expected player limit so registration is closed for now. I might decide to allow someone else to be a second narrator later on, after I determine who's creative enough.]

Ryn'hina took the departure of all the guys from her apartment happily. As Leon and Wind left to find Crylic, who, as it so happened, was right in that corridor, Ryn Shut and locked the door. Before each mission she had a routine she went through, the first step being a kind of meditation special to her home planet. She began working her way through the forms.

Wind look disgusted at the lack of belief in his abilities.

Wind: "Can I fly a stargazer? Does a stargazer have engines? Does it have a pilot console? If the answer is yes, then I guess you know I can fly it. Please, I fly interceptor and trader vessels all the time. I could fly a stargazer with my eyes closed. I could also tell you every vital statistic about the ship in five seconds flat without stopping to take a breath, but I won't. So please, you give me the wheel and i'll show you flying like you ain't never seen before."

Wind scratches his chin in thought.

Wind: "So, let's get the questions outta the way. What time do we need to leave, where are we going, do I need to do any fancy flying and what time do we need to be back - oh, i want to be back by dinner. Can't miss dinner."

[Woah woah, hold on. Neither characters have reached the Stargazer yet, only Leon has left the room. Read carefully.]

Neither Malkor nor Meegua had noticed any changes in the humidity, as it changed whenever someone used one of the few steam powered machines, but when the doors were shut and the alarm sounded Meegua seemed to freak out. The before elegant feline had immediately curled herself up in a ball in the corner concealing her face. Malkor was astonished by this, but also by the fact that no warning signal had been given. The air seemed to get thicker by the moment.

Malkor: “What’s happening? This isn’t right!”

Meegua was in no condition to answer or respond in any way, she had even started sobbing. Malkor went to her to comfort her, but she shoved him away with unexpected force. He was starting to get truly frightened now. The air was moist, the lights were blinking, Meegua had gone crazy, and there was no exit. No exit. No exit. He kept thinking it, knowing that it wouldn’t help them in any way.
Why was no one turning off the alarm or opening the doors? The air was really damp now, and Malkor seemed hopeless.

X-treme was gone...Feara looked around trying to remember where he was. Did he say? Did she send him?

Feara:" X-treme?"

She pulls on one of her pigtails worriedly and leaves the room with a dazed look on her face

Feara:"X-treme?"

She goes doen the right hallway, turning at the corner. X-treme comes back twenty-two seconds later with a sqirming crewmember in his grasp

X-treme:"Feara?"

X-treme knows that wouldn't leave without him-so she forgot him-that was dangerous

X-treme:"Feara?"

He leaves the room, going left at the hallway and continueing to go down that way.
