Valens gave a nod of his head, doing as he was told for as long as he could. It started to weight on his arms a bit. He was used to doing the other movements but even then it was only those movements and for twenty minutes a day. He should practice more then that, put more time into the learning process since it was something that he wanted to learn and he couldn't learn if he got tired quickly.
The blade of the bamboo naginata scrapped the ground and as he was told to do the horse boy stopped so that he could take in a few breaths and allow his arms a moment to rest.
Ellie watched closely, silently then gave a little nod of her head and dragons version of a smile. He was doing well she thought and the teacher seemed pleased enough from what she gathered. At least she thought so, he was so hard to read.

Kuyoja liked that Valen's paid attention to his teachings. Watching as he rested as the blade hit the ground before he continued in the exercise.
"Very good. I am glad that you listen to my teachings. Trying doing the same pace again before trying to increase your speed. We will then try combining the two techniques you have learned together."
He nodded his head looking to Ellie a bit offering a small smile. SHe was such a well behaved dragon, so beautiful as well. He envied the children here. They all had such wonderful creatures as companions.

Valens had another of his happy moments when the teacher seemed happier then he'd thought he would be. In fact he told him he was glad that he'd listened instead of berating him for letting the weapon hit the ground. His tail swished a bit and he set to following Mr Tsuzuki's next set of instructions.
Since both the teacher and Ellie seemed happy that made him happy and made him want to try even harder!
Ellie gazed up at the teacher and her tail set to swishing back and forth as she got a smile from him. His smiles seemed rare so being gifted with one made it seem as if she were being given a great treasure! If dragons could blush she might be doing so in this moment.

Kuyoja watched and waited and waited longer, he was a very patient man it seemed, he neevr seemed to tire of just standing there his hands behind his back whilst he stood very very still. He would soon be wrapping up this class. His student had done very well he waited a moment as he attempted to speed up the spin before speaking.
"Excellent, now I want you to pratice the over head swing and move into a spin. You must focus very hard becuase the momentum of your swing will want to carry it downwards not off to the side. " He explained.

Valens eyes widened a bit at the next set of instructions, a combination of the two would be hard he thought to himself and went through the motion slowly first to get the idea. He didn't want to move to fast with something new and risk smashing the weapon against the ground. His face had a looked of determination, his ears were laid back, and his tail was very still as he went through the motions a few times, each time he went a little faster.
Ellie gave a delighted sound, tail wagging. Her boy looked so determined! He rarely seemed as such, instead he would just sort of meander through everything else. Here though he seemed to use every ounce of his control and his concentration.
If only he could treat everything in this manner but she supposed she couldn't complain, after all he was trying his best, "You are good Teacher." She told Kuyoja, nodding. He must have some sort of magic even if he weren't a dragon.

Kuyoja looked down at Ellie and shrugged off the compliment. "I only teach, it is up to the student to learn." He casually said shifting his weight carefully from foot to foot. In a way he obscurely complimented the boy, meaning that he only taught but it was the student who had the potential and skill to learn it.
"You are his rock. " The teacher noted with the silver dragon, "Be sure to be there for him in times to come." He murmured as he then clapped his hand together sharply to get the boys attention.
"Good. Now I want you to practice this every day, the first move for half an hour the second for half an hour and combined for an hour. You will need all the strength and stamina for this so build up slowly. ANd don't risk exhausting yourself or pulling a muscle." he warned.

Ellie gave a little smile, "Of course." She murmured, as if she needed anyone to tell her that she had to be there for her boy. She would forever be there to take care of him. She rose up to her feet when the teacher clapped his hands. From the words he used she was guessing the class was over with now.
Valens on the other hand was so deeply entranced in the motions that the loud clap startled him, causing his entire form to jolt and made him take two steps forward as if he were readying to bolt... then his cheeks were burning red from embaressment. Damn horse blood he thought to himself, there were so many things that startled him and triggered a flight response...
"Ahhh... yes, yes I will practice!" He said, when the teacher's words sank in. An hour of training, that was three times what he man suggested last time but he trusted his teacher.
"Will make sure he does it." Ellie said, walking to her boy and set to inspecting him. He needed a drink and a shower she decided, taking in how much he was sweating and how he was smelling.

Giving a nod of his head the man took off his glasses a moment as if to peer into the lens and then placed them back on his face. Perhaps he had seen some invisible spot of dust.
"your training will be long but I trust you won't over do it. If you feel that your muscles are too sore the next day cut it in half until your muscles are accustomed to it." He instructed as he didn't want the horse boy to over do it and pull something or hurt himself by accident.
"Now you will be taking the wooden blade as well the bamboo one. First start with the bamboo and gradually move up tot he wooden. The difference in weight should be enough to build your stamina." He concluded with another distinct nod of his head.
"Be sure to contact me if you have any questions or if you want to schedule another meeting." He concluded announcing basically that class was over.

Valens nodded, getting the different weapons in hand, "Thank you, I will do my very best in my training." He said then looked over at his dragon, "Come on Ellie, lets get something to drink."
Ellie gave a jolt as her boy had been seeming to read her mind. She looked up at him then turned to gaze at the teacher, bowing to him, "Thank you." She said, stepping closer to her boy so that she could take hold of his shirt.
"Goodbye Mr Tsuzuki." He said, giving a grin and then headed out with Ellie holding onto him to keep him from getting lost.
